  i want to delete a element in mysql. the problem is that my connection not succesfully open and they give me error unable to connect even same connectionstring work elsewhere in current project. well when my code open the connection they work fine. but a small function try to delete a row in Mysql. i am confused what is goes wrong because :- same connectionstring work elsewhere in project i trying but a function only have a project [unable to connect] the [unable to connect] problem come when my code trying to delete the rows in mysql. i use sqlyog to open the connection and they work fine as other code work and their is no problem i got when i run the command on sqlyog. conclusion:- why connection not open if they work elsewhere in the project and in also in sqlyog. any reason for unable to connect. because connection can not open offcourse command never run so what is reason upon the connection unable to connect. well any suggestion , thing you feel and trick you have to solve this issue i have. thanks

• Elegant way to import XHTML nodes from xhr.responseXML into HTML document in IE?

  While navigating through a site, I'm dynamically loading pages via Ajax and then only updating the elements of the page that are changed, such as the navigation state and main content area. This is similar to Lala. I am serving the site as XHTML in order to be able to have access to xhr.responseXML which I then traverse in parallel with the current document and copy the nodes over. This works very well in browsers other than IE. For IE, I have to iterate over all of the properties of each XML element I want to import into the HTML document to create it from scratch (using a function convertXMLElementToHTML()). • Parallelize or vectorize all-against-all operation on a large number of matrices?

  I have approximately 5,000 matrices with the same number of rows and varying numbers of columns (20 x ~200). Each of these matrices must be compared against every other in a dynamic programming algorithm. In this question, I asked how to perform the comparison quickly and was given an excellent answer involving a 2D convolution. Serially, iteratively applying that method, like so list = who('data_matrix_prefix*') H = cell(numel(list),numel(list)); for i=1:numel(list) for j=1:numel(list) if i ~= j eval([ 'H{i,j} = compare(' char(list(i)) ',' char(list(j)) ');']); end end end is fast for small subsets of the data (e.g. for 9 matrices, 9*9 - 9 = 72 calls are made in ~1 s). However, operating on all the data requires almost 25 million calls. I have also tried using deal() to make a cell array composed entirely of the next element in data, so I could use cellfun() in a single loop: # who(), load() and struct2cell() calls place k data matrices in a 1D cell array called data. nextData = cell(k,1); for i=1:k [nextData{:}] = deal(data{i}); H{:,i} = cellfun(@compare,data,nextData,'UniformOutput',false); end Unfortunately, this is not really any faster, because all the time is in compare(). Both of these code examples seem ill-suited for parallelization. I'm having trouble figuring out how to make my variables sliced. compare() is totally vectorized; it uses matrix multiplication and conv2() exclusively (I am under the impression that all of these operations, including the cellfun(), should be multithreaded in MATLAB?). Does anyone see a (explicitly) parallelized solution or better vectorization of the problem?

I tried using functions to call another page like request dispatcher(), redirect() calling myhtml.js page directly after myservlet process the query results. But i get the result like this google.visualization.Query.setResponse......... /Tiger'},{v:80.0}, {v:false}]}]}}); and the entire myhtml.js code page below it on the browsers that to without the chart been draw. • CodeIgniter - the right way to create "block" elements on web page

  Hello. I've been searching for a solutions for this problem a while but haven't seen any "valid mvc" solution for this. I hope I can explain my problem clearly enough for you guys. I need to create a dynamic block of HTML on my website. (eg. a block containing user's latest blog comments). I have a template view file (a file containing header, content container and a footer) where I need to add some content AND this block element. The problem is that I don't want to duplicate this block code on every controller. It just feels stupid and I'm sure there's a better way to do this than just duplicating same stuff all over again on all the controller files? I can add view inside another view just fine, but what bugs me is how to actually generate that dynamic content to this block's view-file. I can't call controller from view file, controller from controller filem or model from view file because what I understand that just isn't the "mvc" way? Anyone got any tricks or tips for this?

• jQuery Mobile page overrides desktop HTML div layout

  I'd like to use jQuery mobile on my desktop page. I'm probably thinking of this wrongly, but I tried simply inserting a page element into an existing standard div, like this: <body> <div id="left_sidebar"> [...] </div> <div id="mylist" data-role="page"> <div data-role="listview"> [list items bla bla] </div> </div> <div id="right_sidebar"> [...] </div> <div id="site_footer"> (c) bla blub </div> </body> ...hoping that only the middle part displays the "mobile" page elements. However, that page div seems to override the entire site and turns the whole body into a mobile page (albeit displaying my listview item nicely... across the entire screen). Any idea what to do? Advice is much appreciated.

What I would like to see here is (1) what production the parser was in when it expected the '"' (I've multiple ones) and (2) where in the input this production started parsing (which is an indicator where the opening quote is in the input). Does anybody know how I can improve the error messages and include more information about the actual internal parsing state when the error happens (perhaps something like a production rule stacktrace or whatever can be given reasonably here to better identify the error location). BTW, the above "line 32, column 1" is actually the EOT position and hence of no use here, of course.

• Setting the correct orientation for scrollbars in right-to-left pages.

  I'm working with right-to-left layouts at the moment (think Hebrew or Arabic). In RTL, the page is generally flipped horizontally. However, I can't figure out how to change the orientation of the scrollbars. I would assume that the scrollbars should appear on the left side of a scrollable element, not the right side like it does in an LTR layout. Here is an example page where the scrollbar still appears on the right: <html dir="rtl"> <body> <div style="height: 100px; overflow: auto;"> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> <p>This is some text</p> </body> </html> Is the orientation of a scrollbar a browser locale setting, and thus is not something I should be concerned about, or is there a way to set the orientation of the scrollbar? • Multithreading for loop while maintaining order

  I started messing around with multithreading for a CPU intensive batch process I'm running. Essentially I'm trying to condense multiple single page tiffs into single PDF documents. This works fine with a foreach loop or standard iteration but can be very slow for several 100 page documents. I tried the following based on a some examples I found to use multithreading and it has significant performance improvements however it obliterates the page order instead of 1,2,3,4 it will be 1,3,4,2,6,5 on what thread completes first. My question is how would I utilize this technique while maintaining the page order and if I can will it negate the performance benefit of the multithreading? Thank you in advance. • Conflict with @Html.LabelFor and W3C Validator?

  I have a model that I am using to present an index of a model from a database and have given a display name to some of the rows that may need spaces in them, (I.e. "weekstarting" in a db would be given a display name of "Week Starting"). So I set the display name for my model like this: [DisplayName("Week Starting")] public DateTime WeekStarting { get; set; } and then in the table headers for my table I use the following line of code to display the field name using its given display name: @Html.LabelFor(x => x.First().WeekStarting) The above all works fine. But I am using the W3C validator and it is giving me the following error for the example I have given: The for attribute of the label element must refer to a form control. Forgive me if it is obvious but what am I doing wrong here? I am not using a form I am simply displaying an index of items in a table. I have tried to look for an answer and saw someone suggest that the form controls being referred to need ids (even though I'm not using a form) but this would not be applicable in this instance because if I tried to set an id in the index it would be duplicated with each item in the index: foreach (var item in Model.Tbms) { <tr><td>@item.value</td><tr>.... would be repeated for each item, and also unsure where I would put the id in any case, the td? } Or is there a better way to label the field header, with my preferred display name in the first place? I guess I could just swap @Html.LabelFor... for Hard code field name but do I have to?

  I'm trying to make an element isolation tool, where: All elements are shaded Selected elements, while hovered, are not shaded Originally, looking at the image lightbox implementations, I thought of appending an overlay to the document, then raising the z-index of elements upon hover.   Working in WPF, writing a custom user control. I am trying to change the background property of the Border element when I change the value of a property of the class. Right now I am working on simply binding it to a DP, though if there is a better way I am open to suggestions. • Change class of parent div if radio input checked

  I've been searching and searching google for answers to my question but have been unsuccessful so far. I'm hoping one of you guys could give me some assistance. I have 10 divs with the class name "dividend" holding a table with the classname/id of "container" then two smaller tables inside that. Within the container table at the bottom is a hidden radio button with the name "page1". I wrote an onClcick for the container table so the user can select the whole table instead of the radio button, but not I'm trying to change the style of the selected container so the users know they have selected it. I have tried a few different methods and I'm able to change the style to the new class by just writing document.getElementById('container').className = 'selected'; But because all 10 divs share the same name it will only change the style of the first element it finds. So I tried writing this loop to check if there are any selected radios in the document then to change the else name the style as the default. I'm sure its something stupid but I'm pretty stumped atm.. Any help would be appreciated. • Perl : In splice() type of arg1 must be array, cannot be scalar dereference. How to fix?

  I am trying to comprehend the reference/dereference system in Perl. What I am trying to do is to remove an element by using reference: my $ref= \@{$collection{$_[0]}}; # delete($$ref[$i]); # delete works, I've tested that already splice($$ref, $i, 1); # this wouldn't do. I first tried the delete() subroutine, it works; however, it doesn't shift the index after the removed elements forward by 1, so I cannot continue working on other stuff. I then Googled and found the splice() subroutine which does delete and shift in one go. But the error feedback tells me that "Type of arg 1 to splice must be array (not scalar dereference)..." I then tried something like this: splice(@{$$ref}, $i, 1); That resulted in another error like this: "Not a SCALAR reference at...(pointing at that line)" So I am a bit puzzled, how could I handle this issue? I prefer not using any CPAN or additional library for the solution, if possible.

• Performing an action on Parent/Child elements independently.

  I have HTML similar to the following in my page <div id="someDiv"> <img src="foo.gif" class="someImg" /> </div> The wrapper div is set up such that when it is clicked, it's background-color changes using the following jQuery code. $("div").click(function(event){ $(this).css("background-color", "blue"); }); I also have some jQuery associated with my img that will do some other function (for the sake of argument I am going to display and alert box) like so: $("img[class=someImg]").click(function(event){ alert("Image clicked"); }); The issue I have come across is that when I click on the img, the event associated with the div is also triggered. I'm pretty sure that this is due to the way that jQuery (or indeed JavaScript) is handling the two DOM elements - clicking the img would require you to also technically click the div, thus triggering both events. Two questions then really: Is my understanding of the DOM/JavaScript flawed in some way or is this actually how things are occurring? Are there any jQuery methods that would allow me to perform actions on a child element without invoking those associated with its parent?

  I'm trying to dynamically spawn a video element on a page using JavaScript. In IE8 the video harness doesn't even appear. Is HTML 5 just not supported enough to accomplish this yet? Edit: Got this to work with Artiom's fix. Looks like this works fine with Chrome and Safari. I'm using a codec Firefox doesn't support, so it doesn't work there; although I suspect it will work with a supported codec. IE8 sure enough doesn't work (high five IE).

  Hi guys, I want to do some numerical stuff in Erlang like this: You've got an array with the following values: [2,3,4] In each iteration, you calculate 0.1 * [n-1] + 0.7 *[n] + 0.2 * [n+1] This becomes the new [n]. If n == 0 then [n-1] = 0. If [n] == length of array then [n] = 0. So I try an example: [2,3,4] calculations: 0.1 * 0 + 0.7 * 2 + 0.2 * 3 = 2 0.1 * 2 + 0.7 * 3 + 0.2 * 4 = 3.1 0.1 * 3 + 0.7 * 4 + 0.2 * 0 = 3.1 So [2,3,4] becomes to [2, 3.1, 3.1] after one iteration. I know how to write this in a non-functional language like C. But I have difficulties to imagine, how this could be done in Erlang. I found some tutorials on how you read a file to a list. So this is not the problem. How can I spawn different Erlang processes that each process has one element of the list? How can I do calculations by communicating with 'the neighbors', so that the neighbors know where their neigbors are generically, without specifying each? How can I collect the data into a list? Eventually, is it possible to solve that problem in Erlang at all? Thanks for your help.

• Using "margin: 0 auto;" in Internet Explorer 8

  I'm in the process of doing some advance IE8 testing, and it seems that the old technique of using "margin: 0 auto;" doesn't work in all cases in IE8. The following piece of HTML gives a centered button in FF3, Opera, Safari, Chrome, IE7, and IE8 compat, but NOT in IE8 standard: <div style="height: 500px; width: 500px; background-color: Yellow;"> <input type="submit" style="display: block; margin: 0 auto;" /> </div> (As a work-around I can add an explicit width to the button). So the question is: which browsers are correct? Or is this one of those cases where the behaviour is undefined? (My thinking is that all the browsers are incorrect - shouldn't the button be 100% width if it's "display: block"?) UPDATE: I'm being a dunce. Since input isn't a block-level element, I should have just contained it within a div with "text-align: center". Having said that, for curiosity's sake, I'd still like to know whether the button should or shouldn't be centered in the example above. FOR THE BOUNTY: I know I'm doing odd things in the example, and as I point out in the update, I should have just aligned it center. For the bounty, I'd like references to the specs that answer: If I set "display: block", should the button be width 100%? Or is this undefined? Since the display is block, should "margin: 0 auto;" center the button, or not, or undefined?

• What's your take on this Javascript thingy?

  We've been having a discussion at our workplace on this with some for and some against the behavior. Wanted to hear views from you guys : <html> <body> <div> Test! <script> document.body.removeChild(document.getElementsByTagName('div')[0]); </script> </div> </body> </html> Should the above script work and do what it's supposed to do? First, let's see what's happening here : I have a javascript that's inside the <div> element. This javascript will delete the child node within body which happens to hold the div inside which the script itself exists. Now, the above script works fine in Firefox, Opera and IE8. But IE6 and IE7 give an alert saying they cannot open the page. Let's not debate on how IE should have handled this (they've accepted it as a bug and hence fixed it in IE8). The point here is since the 'SCRIPT' tag itself is a part of DOM, should it be allowed to do something like this? Should it even exist after such an operation?

I expected the javscriptcode to run when the data is recieved, but it happens to early. The results indicates that $ or jquery could not be found. If I remove the name attribute from the input type=file element, there are no errors, but that is not the correct solution. How could this happen?

• Why am I needing to click twice on a WPF listbox item in order to fire a command?

  Hi, I'm trying to make a standard WPF listbox be dynamically filled, and for each item in the list box to launch a command when clicked. Currently I have a working listbox, which can be filled and each item will fire the correct command, but in order to fire the command I have to click the list item twice. i.e, Click once to select the item, then click on the actual text to fire the command. As the list is dynamically created, I had to create a data template for the list items: <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Margin="4,2,4,2"> <Hyperlink TextDecorations="None" Command="MyCommands:CommandsRegistry.OpenPanel"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding}" Margin="4,2,4,2"/> </Hyperlink> </TextBlock> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> Basically, how do I remove the need to click twice? I have tried to use event triggers to fire the click event on the hyperlink element when the list box item is selected, but I can't get it to work. Or, is there a better approach to dynamically fill a listbox and attach commands to each list item? Thanks

I'm looking for something that will pull a daily entry from a list/database of my creation. I apologize if my question is not detailed enough. Still a newbie with WordPress. What I wish to accomplish is something similar to Amazon's Deal of the Day widget. Except, in my case, it will simply be a title and a corresponding link. My presumption is that I will set up a database and (using php or something similar) have the information drawn from the database and displayed in my WP sidebar. Additionally, I forgot to mention the time element. I want the displayed info to update once a day, at or around the same time each day. Any ideas? Thanks again. I'm so glad I found stackoverflow.

• jquery form extension ajax

I need to get the comment that the user submitted to be displayed in the respective div that it was submitted from. I can either set this as a hidden field in the form, or as text in the ajax-process.php file. I can't work out how to get the response from ajax-process.php into something I can work with in the script, if I run the following it appends to all the forms (obviously). The only way I can think to do it is to repeat the script using individual DIV ID's instead of a single class.
