  When using DataContractJsonSerializer to serialize a dictionary, like so: [CollectionDataContract] public class Clazz : Dictionary<String,String> {} .... var c1 = new Clazz(); c1["Red"] = "Rosso"; c1["Blue"] = "Blu"; c1["Green"] = "Verde"; Serializing c1 with this code: var dcjs = new DataContractJsonSerializer(c1.GetType()); var json = new Func<String>(() => { using (var ms = new System.IO.MemoryStream()) { dcjs.WriteObject(ms, c1); return Encoding.ASCII.GetString(ms.ToArray()); } })(); ...produces this JSON: [{"Key":"Red","Value":"Rosso"}, {"Key":"Blue","Value":"Blu"}, {"Key":"Green","Value":"Verde"}] But, this isn't a Javascript associative array. If I do the corresponding thing in javascript: produce a dictionary and then serialize it, like so: var a = {}; a["Red"] = "Rosso"; a["Blue"] = "Blu"; a["Green"] = "Verde"; // use utility class from http://www.JSON.org/json2.js var json = JSON.stringify(a); The result is: {"Red":"Rosso","Blue":"Blu","Green":"Verde"} How can I get DCJS to produce or consume a serialized string for a dictionary, that is compatible with JSON2.js ? I know about JavaScriptSerializer from ASP.NET. Not sure if it's very WCF friendly. Does it respect DataMember, DataContract attributes?

• dynatree: how can i select child node programmatically

  hello everyone i m using jquery's dynaTree in my application and i want to select the all the child nodes programmably when a node is selected. the structure of my tree is as follows <div id = "tree"> <ul> <li>package 1 <ul> <li>module 1.1 <ul> <li> document 1.1.1</li> <li> document 1.1.2</li> </ul> </li> <li>module 1.2 <ul> <li>document 1.2.1</li> <li>document 1.2.2</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li> package 2 <ul> <li> module 2.1 <ul> <li>document 2.1.1</li> <li>document 2.1.1</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> now what i want is that when i click on tree node with title "package 1" all its child nodes i.e (module 1.1, document 1.1.1, document 1.1.2, module 1.2, document 1.2.1, document 1.2.2) should also be selected below is the approach i tried to use $("#tree").dynatree({ onSelect: function(flag, dtnode) { // This will happen each time a check box is selected/deselected var selectedNodes = dtnode.tree.getSelectedNodes(); var selectedKeys = $.map(selectedNodes, function(node) { //alert(node.data.key); return node.data.key; }); // Set the hidden input field's value to the selected items $('#SelectedItems').val(selectedKeys.join(",")); if (flag) { child = dtnode.childList; alert(child.length); for (i = 0; i < child.length; i++) { var x = child[i].select(true); alert(i); } } }, checkbox: true, onActivate: function(dtnode) { //alert("You activated " + dtnode.data.key); } }); in the if(flag) condition i get all the child nodes of element that is selected by user and it gives me the correct value that i can see from alert(child.length) statement. then i run the loop to select all the children but loop never goes beyond the statement var x = child[i].select(true); and i can never see the statement alert(i) being executed. the result of above statement is that if i select package 1, module 1.1 and document 1.1.1 is also selected but never does it execute alert(i) statement neither other children of package 1 are selected. in my view when first time child[i].select(true) statement is executed it also triggers the on select event of its children thus making a recursion kind of thing is my thinking correct? no matter recursion or what why on earth does it not complete the loop and execute very next instruction alert(i). please help me in solving this problem. i m dying to see that alert any suggestion and help is highly appriciated thanks Adeel

• Listview of items from a object selected in another listview

  Ok the title maybe a little confusing. I have a database with the table Companies wich has one-to-many relotionship with another table Divisions ( so each company can have many divisions ) and division will have many employees. I have a ListView of the companies. What I wan't is that when I choose a company from the ListView another ListView of divisions within that company appears below it. Then I pick a division and another listview of employees within that division appaers below that. You get the picture. Is there anyway to do this mostly inside the XAML code declaritively (sp?). I'm using linq so the Company entity objects have a property named Division wich if I understand linq correctly should include Division objects of the divisions connected to the company. So after getting all the companies and putting them as a itemsource to CompanyListView this is where I currently am. <ListView x:Name="CompanyListView" DisplayMemberPath="CompanyName" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" /> <ListView DataContext="{Binding ElementName=CompanyListView, Path=SelectedItem}" DisplayMemberPath="Division.DivisionName" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0" /> I know I'm way off but I was hoping by putting something specific in the DataContext and DisplayMemberPath I could get this to work. If not then I have to capture the Id of the company I guess and capture a select event or something. Another issue but related is the in the seconde column besides the lisview I wan't to have a details/edit view for the selected item. So when only a company is selected details about that will appear then when a division under the company is picked It will go there instead, any ideas?

I can get around this with XML mappings as I can just specify a <id type="int"> <generator class="increment"/> </id> at the top of the mapping. Is there any way to duplicate this in FNH...? TIA Matt

  I am trying to use System.Net.WebClient in a WinForms application to upload a file to an IIS6 server which has Windows Authentication as it only 'Authentication' method. WebClient myWebClient = new WebClient(); myWebClient.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(@"boxname\peter", "mypassword"); byte[] responseArray = myWebClient.UploadFile("http://localhost/upload.aspx", fileName); I get a 'The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized', actually it is a 401.2 Both client and IIS are on the same Windows Server 2003 Dev machine. When I try to open the page in Firefox and enter the same correct credentials as in the code, the page comes up. However when using IE8, I get the same 401.2 error. Tried Chrome and Opera and they both work. I have 'Enable Integrated Windows Authentication' enabled in the IE Internet options. The Security Event Log has a Failure Audit: Logon Failure: Reason: An error occurred during logon User Name: peter Domain: boxname Logon Type: 3 Logon Process: ÈùÄ Authentication Package: NTLM Workstation Name: boxname Status code: 0xC000006D Substatus code: 0x0 Caller User Name: - Caller Domain: - Caller Logon ID: - Caller Process ID: - Transited Services: - Source Network Address: 127.0.0.1 Source Port: 1476 I used Process Monitor and Fiddler to investigate but to no avail. • Interpret Objective C scripts at runtime on iPhone?

  Is there anyway to load an objective c script at runtime, and run it against the classes/methods/objects/functions in the current iPhone app? The reason i ask is that I've been playing around with iPhone wax, a lua interpreter that can be embedded in an iPhone app, and it works very nicely, in the sense that any object/method/function that's publically available in your Objective C code is automatically bridged, and available in lua. This allows you to rapidly prototype applications by simply making the core of your app be lua files that are in the users documents directory. Just reload the app, and you can test out changes to your lua files without needing to rebuild the app in XCode - a big time saver! But, with Apples recent 3.1.3 SDK stuff, it got me thinking that the safest approach for doing this type of rapid prototypeing would be if you could use Objective C as the interpreted code... That way, worst case scenario, you could just compile it into your app before your release, instead. I have heard that the lua source can be compiled to byte code, and linked in at build time, but I think the ultimate safe thing would be if the scripted source was in objective c, not lua. This leads me to wondering (i've searched, but come up with nothing) if there are any examples on how to embed an Objective C Interpreter in an iPhone app? This would allow you to rapidly prototype your app against the current classes that are built into your binary, and, when your about to deploy your app, instead of running the classes through the in app interpreter, you compile them in instead.

I have a service that provides me all my DropDownLists, either from Cache or from the DomainService. They are presented as IEnumerable, and are requested from the a repository with GetLookup(LookupId). • Android orientation change causes ImageView to dissapear

  Below is my layout for the row template in a SimpleCursorAdapter. The ImageView with id next_arrow disappears on orientation change. If I replace @drawable/arrow with @drawable/icon (copy of the standard sym_def_app_icon) it works fine.   I've loaded a WPF project initially created in Visual Studio 2008 into Visual Studio 2010. The conversion process goes smoothly, but on certain XAML files the VS2010 designer throws several errors related to project references, including this one: System.Reflection.Adds.UnresolvedAssemblyException Type universe cannot resolve assembly: GalaSoft.MvvmLight, Version=3.0.0.31869, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3e875cdb3903c512. This assembly reference works just fine in the Expression Blend 4 designer, but not in VS2010. I can build and run the solution successfully. My solution targets the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1.

  Hi All! I have a really, really long form (about 300 fields) that I broke down into different sections using this slick jQuery plugin Form Wizard. If you group your form into different fieldsets, the FormWizard will automagically display one section at a time, with a Next hyperlink to take you to the next section: <a id="step0Next" class="next" href="#">Next ></a> My question is this: Using the jQuery Validation plugin, how can I validate each fieldset when a user clicks Next, and so forth, instead of using the Submit button. Put differently, how can I change the trigger event from Submit to six different hyperlinks for six separate sections? Thanks for helping this newb out.
