  • How can I add more Android home screens?

    It seems my HTC Magic running Android 1.5 (Cupcake) has three home screens I can switch between. I can't find any kind of option to add additional home screens (the "home screen" menu only lets me add Widgets, Shortcuts and Folders or change the Wallpaper). Is there any way I can add more?

  • Add domain user as local admin in Windows 7 using VPN to connect to domain

    I am rebuilding my work computer from scratch and need to add my domain user as a local admin on my computer. I have successfully added my PC to the domain, but I cannot add my domain user account to the local admins. I have tried to do the following: Connect to the work domain using a Windows VPN Add my computer to the work domain Start right click on Computer Manage - go to Users and Groups right click on Administrators group and add my domain user The problem is that after adding my domain user to the Administrators group, I don't see my domain user under the Local Users group. When I try to log on as my domain user I get the following error message: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request Any ideas?

  • Firefox keyboard shortcuts to menu items / add-on functions

    At the moment I'm using context menus a lot to access commands in Firefox, but I would like to replace this repetitive clicking and searching with keyboard shortcuts for the common tasks that I perform. How to assign keys to add-on functionality? E.g. I use Close Other Tabs from Tab Mix Plus a lot - but I could not find any add-on that allows me to create a key combination for it e.g. Ctrl Alt Shift F4? My search did yield Key config, but this extension does not allow mapping to add-on functions I thought Menu Editor might be relevant, as you can change menus with it, and re-arrange even add-on items A rather demanding solution here, which seems to require re-compiling some jar files Customizing menu shortcuts in Firefox

    I have 1 intermediate certificate with name intermediate.crt But my providing is saying to add 2 certificates primary and secondary. But how to add it in ssl configuration file. Currently I have added only secondary certificate as below SSLCertificateChainFile "/usr/local/apache2/conf/extra/intermediate.crt" But now as my ssl provider is saying to add 2 certificates then what entry i have to do in my ssl.conf file. Or I can also use bundle.pem file which contains both the certificates in 1 file. Let me know how to add bundle.pem file also.

    I need to add a site to trusted sites on all computers in my domain. I can do it with the "site to zone assignment list", however when I do, it locks trusted sites on the client computer "this setting is managed by your administrator". What I need is a way to add the site, make it persistant, and not affects the users ability to add trusted sites of thier own. (It's a development enviroment, sites are created and tested regularly, they need that ability.)

  • Making Thunderbird auto-add SMTP identities whenever I reply

    How can I teach Thunderbird to automatically add an SMTP identity whenever I reply to an email directed to <whatever>@<mydomain>? So if an SMTP is configured for <mydomain> but no identity exists for <whatever>@<mydomain>, how can I make Thunderbird dynamically recognize this and add it. Currently I have to manually add the identity every single time, but I would prefer it to to be added ad-hoc. As long as Thunderbird was configured to know about the SMTP serving <mydomain> this should be trivial, but I couldn't find an option. An add-on or something like a catch-all/wildcard identity would also do as long as it doesn't require manually setting up a new identity every time.

  • ip route add HOMEIP via SERVERIP disconnects me from ssh

    I want to use a vpn connection on my Debian server but I get disconnected from ssh if I connect to the vpn. I thought by using the "ip route add" I can prevent getting disconnected from my server and it will continue to use the main connection for communication between my computer and the server, and the vpn for communication with other ips. This is the command I use ip route add PUBLICHOMEIP via PUBLICSERVERIP But I get disconnected after the "ip route add" command too. Am I making a mistake anywhere?

    I've got a saucy server with a lot of NICs and they end up with weird names like "rename19". I know interface names can be changed by modifying the /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules file. The first clue that something is wrong is that that file did not exist even though it's supposed to be created automatically.     I am connecting C# with Oracle 11g. I have a DataTable which i fill using an Oracle Data Adapter. OracleDataAdapter da; DataTable dt = new DataTable(); da = new OracleDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM Author", con); da.Fill(dt); I have few text boxes that I have databound to various rows in the data table. txtAuthorID.DataBindings.Add("Text", dt, "AUTHORID"); txtFirstName.DataBindings.Add("Text", dt, "FIRSTNAME"); txtLastName.DataBindings.Add("Text", dt, "LASTNAME"); txtAddress.DataBindings.Add("Text", dt, "ADDRESS"); txtTelephone.DataBindings.Add("Text", dt, "TELEPHONE"); txtEmailAddress.DataBindings.Add("Text", dt, "EMAIL"); I also have a DataGridView below the Text Boxes, showing the contents of the DataTable. dgvAuthor.DataSource = dt; Now when I want to add a new row, i do bm.AddNew(); where bm is defined in Form_Load as BindingManagerBase bm; bm = this.BindingContext[dt]; And when the save button is clicked after all the information is entered and validated, i do this.BindingContext[dt].EndCurrentEdit(); try { da.Update(dt); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } However the problem comes where when I usually enter a row to the database (using SQL Plus) , I use a my_pk_sequence.nextval for the primary key. But how do i specify that when i add a new row in this method? I catch this exception ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("SYSMAN".AUTHOR.AUTHORID") which is obvious because nothing was specified for the primary key. How do get around this? Thanx a lot in advance :)

  • JqGrid updating grid on add

    Scenario: I have three columns in my grid but only one is editable, the other two are filled in on the server side. I am using the built in add functionality of jqGrid and NOT refreshing the grid on successfully add. I would like to have the row added to the grid, like it does automatically, but would like to add it myself because it only adds the one column that is marked 'editable'. I cannot seem to find a way to block the row from being automatically added to the grid, or a way to override the built in add functionality in the grid. My idea was to add the row myself because I will have received back the full row of data back on my submit. Questions: Is there a way to stop the grid from automatically adding the row when I do not want a grid refresh, so that I can manually add all the data for the row? Is it possible to use the built in add button and override the onClick, without digging and and directly figuring out what jqGrid calls the button? Any better ideas on how to accomplish getting the row added to the grid from the server side without doing it all manually...ie. create my own add button, and popup a dialog and handle all the submit functionality? EDIT What would help is if I could stop the grid from auto adding the row...I can deal with doing it myself.

    I have a dirty working tree, dirty because I made changes to source files and touched up some images. I was trying to add just the images to the index, so I ran this command: git add *.png But, this doesn't add the files. There were a few new image files that were added, but none of the ones that were modified/pre-existing were added. What gives?     Ever been doing some work at the command line when you realized… it would be a lot easier if I could just use the mouse for this task? One command later, you’ll have a window open to the same place that you’re at. This same tip works in more than one operating system, so we’ll detail how to do it in every way we know how. Open a File Browser in Windows We’ve actually covered this before when we told you how to open an Explorer window from the command prompt’s current directory, but we’ll briefly review: Just type the follow command into your command prompt: explorer . Note: You could actually just type “start .” instead. And you’ll then see a file browsing window set to the same directory you were previous at. And yes, this screenshot is from Vista, but it works the same in every version of Windows. If that wasn’t good enough, you should really read how you can navigate in the File Open/Save dialogs with just the keyboard—now that’s a Stupid Geek Trick! Open a File Browser in Linux For this exercise, we’re going to assume that you’re using Gnome under a Linux flavor like Ubuntu, because that’s the most common. From your terminal window, just type in the following command: nautilus . And the next thing you know, you’ll have a file browser window open at the current location. You’ll see some type of error message at the prompt, but you can pretty much ignore that. You can also use “gnome-open .” if you want. Open Finder in Mac OS X All the Mac computers in this office are running Linux, so we haven’t had a chance to verify, but you should be able to use the following command on OS X to open Finder in the current terminal location: open .     Most people have heard of it but not everyone is familiar or comfortable with how to use this bastion of geekdom. This week we would like to know if you use the command line or not. The command line…the bastion of ultimate geekery in many peoples’ eyes. You often hear people referring to doing things using the command line, so there must be something to it, right? For some people using the command line is the best, most efficient, and easiest way to do things on their systems. These are the people that many of us wish we were like. Next you have those who are proficient at using the command line but do not rely on it for everything they do on their systems. Then there are people who know how to perform some tasks or hacks using the command line but may not be as comfortable or knowledgeable as they wish to be using it. Moving on you find those who are interested in learning how to use the command line and just need a small push to get started.  Perhaps you feel too intimidated to learn it and just need the right opportunity to come along. And maybe you do not care one way or the other so long as you get done what you want to do on your system. Or you may prefer to simply use a graphical interface since that is quicker and easier for you (along with being familiar).   • Migrate add-on domain olddomain.com to newdomain.com

    I have 2 domains that are registered at GoDaddy : domaina.com (not hosted, only domain name is registered to GD) domainb.com (hosted at a different webhost, domain name registered to GD) domainb.com is an already working site, with a different webhost, but the domain name is registered to GoDaddy(and I assume the nameservers are changed to redirect to the webhost). Now, I don't understand why this was done, but domainb.com is considered a subdomain on the host... meaning the files are in a seperate folder on the server. Ex : public-html/domainb.com/public-html/FILES The structure is similar to this on the webhost : HostNAME (main root folder) domainb.com (subdomain of hostname) domainc.com (etc...) domaind.com (etc...) I want to transfer the site domainb.com to domaina.com, meaning domaina.com will become the new website, without having to re-upload all the content and CMS. The old one will redirect to domaina.com once the transfer is done (using 301 redirects). Can anyone tell me how I can do this?

The only difference I can see is, that in the second case the old page does no longer exist on the old domain. But whenever I want to redirect any still existing page from the old domain to the new domain the page on the old domain is still used. Any input is much appreciated because this is slowly driving me crazy :) EDIT: I added the complete htaccess file. EDIT 2: So I removed almost all redirects and currently my htaccess looks like this: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^old\.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.old\.com$ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ "http\:\/\/www\.new\.com\/$1" [R=301,L] The only redirect that is working is the simple one from old.com to new.com. A redirect like old.com/page.htm to new.com or even new.com/page.htm is not working. And actually I really don't know where this redirect is actually coming from... Can a 301 really be so complicated?

  • Add logo background color to data returned by StackAuth sites route

    Given that now with Stack Exchange 2.0 the logo of some of the sites, like Web Apps, AskUbuntu, Photography, Gaming and Pro Webmasters have non-white background, I think it will be best if the StackAuth sites route can include the preferred background color for those the logo of these sites. This is especially important for sites like Photography whose logo is unreadable if the traditional white is used. Edit: Here's an example of what I mean here: As you can see, the AskUbuntu logo text totally invisible against a white background.
