  • jQuery.closest(); traversing down the DOM not up

    - by Alex
    Afternoon peoples. I am having a bit of a nightmare traversing a DOM tree properly. I have the following markup <div class="node" id="first-wh"> <div class="content-heading has-tools"> <div class="tool-menu" style="position: relative"> <span class="menu-open stepper-down"></span> <ul class="tool-menu-tools" style="display:none;"> <li><img src="/resources/includes/images/layout/tools-menu/edit22.png" /> Edit <input type="hidden" class="variables" value="edit,hobbies,text,/theurl" /></li> <li>Menu 2</li> <li>Menu 3</li> </ul> </div> <h3>Employment History</h3></div> <div class="content-body editable disabled"> <h3 class="dates">1st January 2010 - 10th June 2010</h3> <h3>Company</h3> <h4>Some Company</h4> <h3>Job Title</h3> <h4>IT Manager</h4> <h3>Job Description</h3> <p class="desc">I headed up the IT department for all things concerning IT and infrastructure</p> <h3>Roles &amp; Responsibilities</h3> <p class="desc">It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).</p> </div> <div class="content-body edit-node edit-node-hide"> <input class="variables" type="hidden" value="id,function-id" /> <h3 class="element-title">Employment Dates</h3> <span class="label">From:</span> <input class="edit-mode date date-from" type="text" value="date" /> <span class="label">To:</span> <input class="edit-mode date date-to" type="text" value="date" /> <h3 class="element-title">Company</h3> <input class="edit-mode" type="text" value="The company I worked for" /> <h3 class="element-title">Job Title</h3> <input class="edit-mode" type="text" value="My job title" /> <h3 class="element-title">Job Description</h3> <textarea class="edit-mode" type="text">The Job Title</textarea> <h3 class="element-title">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</h3> <textarea class="edit-mode" type="text">It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. And I am trying to traverse from input.save at the bottom right the way up to div.node... This all works well with one copy of the markup but if I duplicate it (obvisouly changing the ID of the uppermost div.node and use jQuery.closest('div.node') for the upper of the div.node's it will return the element below it not the element above it (which is the right one). I've tried using parents() but that also has it's caveats. Is there some kind of contexyt that can be attached to closest to make it go up and not down? or is there a better way to do this. jQuery code below. $(".save").click(function(){ var element=$(this); var enodes=element.parents('.edit-node').find('input.variables'); var variables=enodes.val(); var onode=element.closest('div.node').find('.editable'); var enode=element.closest('div.node').find('.edit-node-hide'); var vnode=element.closest('div.node-actions').find('input.checkdisable'); var isvis=(vnode.is(":checked")) ? onode.removeClass('disabled') : onode.addClass('disabled'); onode.slideDown(200); enode.fadeOut(100); }); Thanks in advance. Alex P.S It seems that stackoverflow has done something weird to the markup! - I just triple checked it and it is fine but for some reason it's concate'd it below

  • OpenCL: Strange buffer or image bahaviour with NVidia but not Amd

    - by Alex R.
    I have a big problem (on Linux): I create a buffer with defined data, then an OpenCL kernel takes this data and puts it into an image2d_t. When working on an AMD C50 (Fusion CPU/GPU) the program works as desired, but on my GeForce 9500 GT the given kernel computes the correct result very rarely. Sometimes the result is correct, but very often it is incorrect. Sometimes it depends on very strange changes like removing unused variable declarations or adding a newline. I realized that disabling the optimization will increase the probability to fail. I have the most actual display driver in both systems. Here is my reduced code: #include <CL/cl.h> #include <string> #include <iostream> #include <sstream> #include <cmath> void checkOpenCLErr(cl_int err, std::string name){ const char* errorString[] = { "CL_SUCCESS", "CL_DEVICE_NOT_FOUND", "CL_DEVICE_NOT_AVAILABLE", "CL_COMPILER_NOT_AVAILABLE", "CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATION_FAILURE", "CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES", "CL_OUT_OF_HOST_MEMORY", "CL_PROFILING_INFO_NOT_AVAILABLE", "CL_MEM_COPY_OVERLAP", "CL_IMAGE_FORMAT_MISMATCH", "CL_IMAGE_FORMAT_NOT_SUPPORTED", "CL_BUILD_PROGRAM_FAILURE", "CL_MAP_FAILURE", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "CL_INVALID_VALUE", "CL_INVALID_DEVICE_TYPE", "CL_INVALID_PLATFORM", "CL_INVALID_DEVICE", "CL_INVALID_CONTEXT", "CL_INVALID_QUEUE_PROPERTIES", "CL_INVALID_COMMAND_QUEUE", "CL_INVALID_HOST_PTR", "CL_INVALID_MEM_OBJECT", "CL_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT_DESCRIPTOR", "CL_INVALID_IMAGE_SIZE", "CL_INVALID_SAMPLER", "CL_INVALID_BINARY", "CL_INVALID_BUILD_OPTIONS", "CL_INVALID_PROGRAM", "CL_INVALID_PROGRAM_EXECUTABLE", "CL_INVALID_KERNEL_NAME", "CL_INVALID_KERNEL_DEFINITION", "CL_INVALID_KERNEL", "CL_INVALID_ARG_INDEX", "CL_INVALID_ARG_VALUE", "CL_INVALID_ARG_SIZE", "CL_INVALID_KERNEL_ARGS", "CL_INVALID_WORK_DIMENSION", "CL_INVALID_WORK_GROUP_SIZE", "CL_INVALID_WORK_ITEM_SIZE", "CL_INVALID_GLOBAL_OFFSET", "CL_INVALID_EVENT_WAIT_LIST", "CL_INVALID_EVENT", "CL_INVALID_OPERATION", "CL_INVALID_GL_OBJECT", "CL_INVALID_BUFFER_SIZE", "CL_INVALID_MIP_LEVEL", "CL_INVALID_GLOBAL_WORK_SIZE", };   • Silverlight 4 WCF RIA Services and MVVM is not as simple

    - by Thomas Jaskula
    [Disclaimer: I'm ASP.NET MVC Developer] Hi, I'm looking for some best practices with implementing MVVM pattern with WCF RIA in Silverlight 4. I'm not looking to use MEF of IoC for locating my ViewModels. What I would like to know is how to apply MVVM pattern with Silverlight 4 and WCF RIA. I don't want to use other stuff like Prism or MVVM Light toolkit. I found many examples on Internet showing how it is wonderful to drag and drop a datasource on the view and the job is done (it reminds me about my first VB6 developments). I tried to implement MVVM with WCF RIA and it's not strightforward at all. If I understand, the MVVM should contain all the logic in order to unit test it in isolation but when it comes to combine it with WCF RIA it's another story. I have the following questions. Can I use a generated metadata as model ? It would be easier to use it that if I write all from the scratch. As I saw the only way I could get data is through DomainContext or through direct binding in the view (local ressource). I don't want the direct binding in the view, not testable at all. On the other hand I can't use DomainContext, it doesn't expose any single entity !!! All I have is the EntitySet that I can bind to datagrid. How do I bind a single Entity to the DataForm from the ViewModel ? How do I udpate the model to the database ? How do I navigate from one Entity to a collection of it's itemps. For example if I have a Company Entity I would like to show a DataFrom to update a entite informations and a datagrid to show companies adresses. When saving a form would like to save information to Company and for example an information avout which adress was selected as active. Please help me understand how to do it well. Or maybe I should drop the WCF RIA and to do it with WCF from scratch ? What do you think ?

  • bind a WPF datagrid to a datatable

    - by Jim Thomas
    I have used the marvelous example posted at: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/WPFDataGridExamples.aspx to bind a WPF datagrid to a datatable. The source code below compiles fine; it even runs and displays the contents of the InfoWork datatable in the wpf datagrid. Hooray! But the WPF page with the datagrid will not display in the designer. I get an incomprehensible error instead on my design page which is shown at the end of this posting. I assume the designer is having some difficulty instantiating the dataview for display in the grid. How can I fix that? XAML Code: xmlns:local="clr-namespace:InfoSeeker" <Window.Resources> <ObjectDataProvider x:Key="InfoWorkData" ObjectType="{x:Type local:InfoWorkData}" /> <ObjectDataProvider x:Key="InfoWork" ObjectInstance="{StaticResource InfoWorkData}" MethodName="GetInfoWork" /> </Window.Resources> <my:DataGrid DataContext="{Binding Source={StaticResource InfoWork}}" AutoGenerateColumns="True" ItemsSource="{Binding}" Name="dataGrid1" xmlns:my="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wpf/2008/toolkit" /> C# Code: namespace InfoSeeker { public class InfoWorkData { private InfoTableAdapters.InfoWorkTableAdapter infoAdapter; private Info infoDS; public InfoWorkData() { infoDS = new Info(); infoAdapter = new InfoTableAdapters.InfoWorkTableAdapter(); infoAdapter.Fill(infoDS.InfoWork); } public DataView GetInfoWork() { return infoDS.InfoWork.DefaultView; } } } Error shown in place of the designer page which has the grid on it: An unhandled exception has occurred: Type 'MS.Internal.Permissions.UserInitiatedNavigationPermission' in Assembly 'PresentationFramework, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' is not marked as serializable. at System.Runtime.Serialization.FormatterServices.InternalGetSerializableMembers(RuntimeType type) at System.Runtime.Serialization.FormatterServices.GetSerializableMembers(Type type, StreamingContext context) at System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary.WriteObjectInfo.InitMemberInfo() at System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary.WriteObjectInfo.InitSerialize(Object obj, ISurrogateSelector surrogateSelector, StreamingContext context, SerObjectInfoInit serObjectInfoInit, IFormatterConverter converter, ObjectWriter objectWriter) ...At:Ms.Internal.Designer.DesignerPane.LoadDesignerView()

  • Using parameters in reports for VIsual Studio 2008

    - by Jim Thomas
    This is my first attempt to create a Visual Studio 2008 report using parameters. I have created the dataset and the report. If I run it with a hard-coded filter on a column the report runs fine. When I change the filter to '?' I keep getting this error: No overload for method 'Fill' takes '1' argument Obviously I am missing some way to connect the parameter on the dataset to a report parameter. I have defined a report parameter using the Report/Report Parameter screen. But how does that report parameter get tied to the dataset table parameter? Is there a special naming convention for the parameter? I have Googled this a half dozen times and read the msdn documentation but the examples all seem to use a different approach (like creating a SQL query rather then a table based dataset) or entering the parameter name as "=Parameters!name.value" but I can't figure out where to do that. One msdn example suggestted I needed to create some C# code using a SetParameters() method to make the connection. Is that how it is done? If anyone can recommend a good walk-through I'd appreciate it. Edit: After more reading it appears I don't need report parameters at all. I am simply trying to add a parameter to the database query. So I would create a text box on the form, get the user's input, then apply that parameter programmatically to the fill() argument list. The report parameter on the other hand is an ad-hoc value generally entered by a user that you want to appear on the report. But there is no relationship between report parameters and query/dataset parameters. Is that correct?

  • Dynamically creating an ImageMap (clickable area on image) in WPF using codebehind.

    - by Thomas Stock
    Hi, I'm trying to create "imagemaps" on an image in wpf using codebehind. See the following XML: <Button Type="Area"> <Point X="100" Y="100"></Point> <Point X="100" Y="200"></Point> <Point X="200" Y="200"></Point> <Point X="200" Y="100"></Point> <Point X="150" Y="150"></Point> </Button> I'm trying to translate this to a button on a certain image in my WPF app. I've already did a part of this, but I'm stuck at setting the Polygon as the button's "template": private Button GetAreaButton(XElement buttonNode) { // get points PointCollection buttonPointCollection = new PointCollection(); foreach (var pointNode in buttonNode.Elements("Point")) { buttonPointCollection.Add(new Point((int)pointNode.Attribute("X"), (int)pointNode.Attribute("Y"))); } // create polygon Polygon myPolygon = new Polygon(); myPolygon.Points = buttonPointCollection; myPolygon.Stroke = Brushes.Yellow; myPolygon.StrokeThickness = 2; // create button based on polygon Button button = new Button(); ????? } I'm also unsure on how to add/remove this button to/from my image, but I'm looking into that. Any help is appreciated.

What's the right way? //create button based on controltemplate Button button = new Button(); button.Template = template; So I need a way to set my Polygon as the button's template.. Suggestions? Thanks.

  • Simple jquery ajax call leaks memory in ie.

    - by Thomas Lane
    I created a web page that makes an ajax call every second. In Internet Explorer 7, it leaks memory badly (20MB in about 15 minutes). The program is very simple. It just runs a javascript function that makes an ajax call. The server returns an empty string, and the javascript does nothing with it. I use setTimout to run the function every second, and I'm using Drip to watch the thing. Here is the source: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/jsapi"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> google.load('jquery', '1.4.2'); google.load('jqueryui', '1.7.2'); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> setTimeout('testJunk()',1000); function testJunk() { $.ajax({ url: 'http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxx/test', // The url returns an empty string dataType: 'html', success: function(data){} }); setTimeout('testJunk()',1000) } </script> </head> <body> Why is memory usage going up? </body> </html> Anyone have an idea how to plug this leak? I have a real application that updates a large table this way, but left unattended will eat up Gigabytes of memory. Okay, so after some good suggestions, I modified the code to: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/jsapi"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> google.load('jquery', '1.4.2'); google.load('jqueryui', '1.7.2'); </script> <script type="text/javascript"> setTimeout(testJunk,1000); function testJunk() { $.ajax({ url: 'http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxx/test', // The url returns an empty string dataType: 'html', success: function(data){setTimeout(testJunk,1000)} }); } </script> </head> <body> Why is memory usage going up? </body> </html> It didn't seem to make any difference though. I'm not doing anything with the DOM, and if I comment out the ajax call, the memory leak stops. So it looks like the leak is entirely in the ajax call. Does jquery ajax inherently create some sort of circular reference, and if so, how can I free it? By the way, it doesn't leak in Firefox. Someone suggested running the test in another VM and see if the results are the same. Rather than setting up another VM, I found a laptop that was running XP Home with IE8. It exhibits the same problem. I tried some older versions of jquery and got better results, but the problem didn't go away entirely until I abandoned ajax in jquery and went with more traditional (and ugly) ajax.

Restart the application Error : no such interfaces are supported File : vsee\internal\vscomptr.inl". When i open solution explorer, all projects are showing as unavailable. I tried VS--Tools--options-- source control--plugin selection and set plug in to Microsoft "Visual source safe" and when i open "Environment" tab it is showing "an error occured while loading this property page" Can someone help me???

  • Warning: PDOStatement::execute(): SQLSTATE[HY093]: Invalid parameter number: number of bound variabl

    - by Thomas
    Hi, I'm working with PHP PDO and I have the following problem: Warning: PDOStatement::execute(): SQLSTATE[HY093]: Invalid parameter number: number of bound variables does not match number of tokens in /var/www/site/classes/enterprise.php on line 63 Here is my code: public function getCompaniesByCity(City $city, $options = null) { $database = Connection::getConnection(); if(empty($options)) { $statement = $database-prepare("SELECT * FROM empresas WHERE empresas.cidades_codigo = ?"); $statement-bindValue(1, $city-getId()); } else { $sql = "SELECT * FROM empresas INNER JOIN prods_empresas ON prods_empresas.empresas_codigo = empresas.codigo WHERE "; foreach($options as $option) { $sql .= 'prods_empresas.produtos_codigo = ? OR '; } $sql = substr($sql, 0, -4); $sql .= ' AND empresas.cidades_codigo = ?'; $statement = $database-prepare($sql); echo $sql; foreach($options as $i = $option) { $statement-bindValue($i + 1, $option-getId()); } $statement-bindValue(count($options), $city-getId()); } $statement-execute(); $objects = $statement-fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_OBJ); $companies = array(); if(!empty($objects)) { foreach($objects as $object) { $data = array( 'id' = $object-codigo, 'name' = $object-nome, 'link' = $object-link, 'email' = $object-email, 'details' = $object-detalhes, 'logo' = $object-logo ); $enterprise = new Enterprise($data); array_push($companies, $enterprise); } return $companies; } } Thank you very much!

  • Missing IUSR account on Windows Server 2008 R2 / IIS7.5

    - by Thomas Wright
    Ok, I'm stumped. I've been given the job of installing PHP5.4 on this machine. One of the manual installation steps is to configure the IUSR account to have specific permissions. The problem is, I see the IIS_IUSRS group, but no IUSR account. The only users listed are the Admin user, a Guest account, and a user for the security software. I'm not really the Windows server type, more of a *NIX guy - so this is getting a little frustrating. I've searched everywhere and haven't found a suitable answer, but I have learned a lot about IIS7.5 - so it hasn't been a total waste of time. I've tried several recommendations and found several similar problems, but nothing has worked so far. I've also just tried making the IUSR account myself, but to no avail. If anyone knows how to get this going, I will be ever so grateful.

  • MVC2 client/server validation of DateTime/Date using DataAnnotations

    - by Thomas
    The following are true: One of my columns (BirthDate) is of type Date in SQL Server. This very same column (BirthDate) is of type DateTime when EF generates the model. I am using JQuery UI Datepicker on the client side to be able to select the BirthDate. I have the following validation logic in my buddy class: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(Project.Web.ValidationMessages), ErrorMessageResourceName = "Required")] [RegularExpression(@"\b(0?[1-9]|1[012])[/](0?[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])[/](19|20)?[0-9]{2}\b", ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(Project.Web.ValidationMessages), ErrorMessageResourceName = "Invalid")] public virtual DateTime? BirthDate { get; set; } There are two issues with this: This will not pass server side validation (if I enable client side validation it works just fine). I am assuming that this is because the regular expression doesn't take into account hours, minutes, seconds as the value in the text box has already been cast as a DateTime on the server by the time validation occurs. If data already exists in the database and is read into the model and displayed on the page the BirthDate field shows hours, minutes, seconds in my text box (which I don't want). I can always use ToShortDateString() but I am wondering if there is some cleaner approach that I might be missing. Thanks

  • [WPF] ComboBox.Text not taking the ItemStringFormat property into account

    - by Thomas Levesque
    I just noticed a strange behavior which looks like a bug. Consider the following XAML : <Page xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:sys="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorlib"> <Page.Resources> <x:Array x:Key="data" Type="{x:Type sys:String}"> <sys:String>Foo</sys:String> <sys:String>Bar</sys:String> <sys:String>Baz</sys:String> </x:Array> </Page.Resources> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical"> <Button>Boo</Button> <ComboBox Name="combo" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource data}}" ItemStringFormat="##{0}##" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Text, ElementName=combo}"/> </StackPanel> </Page> The ComboBox displays the values as "##Foo##", "##Bar##" and "##Baz##". But the TextBlock displays the selected values as "Foo", "Bar" and "Baz". So the ItemStringFormat is apparently ignored for the Text property... Is that a bug ? If it is, is there a workaround ? Or am I just doing something wrong ?
