  • Cocoa's newbie question: is it possible to bind a NSTableView's selection to another tableview's selection?

    http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/6999/modelsf.jpg Let'say, I've 2 entities in the Core Data's Model file, one being all "transactions" ever done by X company. The "transactions" entity has among other properties, a "DATE" property and a to-one relationship "COMPANY"(specifying the company with which X company has done that particular transaction). The other entity:"companies" of course contains all the companies' info ,with which X company has done transaction. The "companies" entity has a to-many relationships "TRANSACTIONS" which is an inverse relationship to "transactions" entity's "COMPANY" relationship. So within IB, I created a NSTableView(with its own NSArrayController) showing all the transactions on a particular Date (with the help of NSPredicate). Then I create another table view showing the to-many relationship "TRANSACTIONS" of the company of the selected transaction in the first table view(which shows transactions on a particular date). The 2nd table view's NSArrayController binding is like this: ** bind to: "name of the first tableview's controller", Controller Key: selection, Model Key Path:COMPANY.TRANSACTIONS(the to-many relationship in the "companies" entity)** Everythings work fine up to this moment, the 2nd tableview shows all the transactions X company has done with the company of the selected transactions in the 1st table view. But I have a group of textfields showing details of a particular transactions. Binding the these textfields with the controller of the 1st table view(the one showing transactions on a particular date) is pretty straightforward. But what I want to do are: 1/ Look up the transactions on a particular date in the first table view, select any one of them 2/ Then, check all previous transactions of the company of that transaction( selected in the first table view) from the 2nd table view 3/ Select any previous transactions and check the details of the transaction from that group of textfields So naturally I should have bind the textfields' gp to the 2nd table view's controller. But I found the default selected row in the 2nd table view(the one show all previous transactions of a company) wasn't the transaction I've selected in the 1st tableView for a particular date. Of course, i can manually select that transaction in the 2nd table view again.... So I just want to know if it's possible to have the 2nd table view automatically select the transaction according to the transaction I've selected in the 1st table view thr binding??     I have an ajax app that will run functions on every interaction. I'd like to be able to run my setup function each time so all my setup code for that function remains encapsulated. However, binding elements more than once means that the handler will run more than once, which is obviously undesirable. Is there an elegant way in jQuery to call bind on an element more than once without the handler being called more than once?

  • In WPF, how do I get a command in a Control Template to bind to a property in a parent?

    I am relatively new to WPF and sometimes it makes my head explode. However, I do like the power behind it, especially when used with the MVVM model. I have a control template that contains a button. I use that control template inside of a custom control. I want to add a property on the custom control that will bind to the command property of the button inside the control template. Basically, it is a combo box with a button to the right of it to allow a user to pop up a search dialog. Since this control could appear on a usercontrol multiple times, I need to be able to potentially bind each control to a different command (Searh products, search customers, etc).     Hello. I want to use home, end, delete, pageup, pagedown with ksh. My TERM is xterm-color. These keys works fine with tcsh and zsh, but not with ksh (print a tilda ~) I found this: bind '^[[3'=prefix-2 bind '^[[3~'=delete-char-forward bind '^[[1'=prefix-2 bind '^[[1~'=beginning-of-line bind '^[[4'=prefix-2 bind '^[[4~'=end-of-line But when I set one bindkey, the last does not work anymore. How can I use these keys in ksh with a .kshrc ? Thanks.

    LowDown: I am trying to create a Document Viewer in WPF. It will allow the user to preview selected documents and if they want, compare the documents in WPF. So they can view them side by side. The layout is this: Left side is a full list box. On the right side is a Collection or an Items control. Inside the items control will be a collection of the "selected documents" in the list box. So A user can select multiple items in the list box and for each new item they select, they can add the item to the collection on the right. I want the collection to look like a image gallery that shows up in Google/Bing Image searches. Make sense? The problem I am having is I can't get the WPFPreviewer to bind correctly to the selected item in the list box under the itemscontrol. Side Note: The WPFPreviewer is something Micorosft puts out that allows us to preview documents. Other previewers can be built for all types of documents, but im going basic here until I get this working right.   • How to bind to the sum of two data bound values in WPF?

    I have designed an analog clock control. It uses the stroke from two ellipses to represent an outer border and an inner border to the clock face. I have exposed properties in the UserControl that allow a user to alter the thickness of these two borders. The Ellipse.StrokeThickness properties are then bound to these UserControl properties. At the moment, I am binding the UserControl property for the outer border thickness to the margins of the inner elements so that they are not hidden when the border size is increased. <Ellipse Name="OuterBorder" Panel.ZIndex="1" StrokeThickness="{Binding OuterBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Stroke="{StaticResource OuterBorderBrush}" /> <Ellipse Name="InnerBorder" Panel.ZIndex="5" StrokeThickness="{Binding InnerBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Margin="{Binding OuterBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Stroke="{StaticResource InnerBorderBrush}"> ... <Ellipse Name="Face" Panel.ZIndex="1" Margin="{Binding OuterBorderThickness, ElementName=This}" Fill="{StaticResource FaceBackgroundBrush}" /> ... The problem is that if the inner border thickness is increased, this does not affect the margins and so the hour ticks and numbers can become partially obscured or hidden. So what I really need is to be able to bind the margin properties of the inner controls to the sum of the inner and outer border thickness values (they are of type double). I have done this successfully using 'DataContext = this;', but am trying to rewrite the control without this as I hear it is not recommended. I also thought about using a converter and passing the second value as the ConverterParameter, but didn't know how to bind to the ConverterParameter. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. EDIT Thanks to Kent's suggestion, I've created a simple MultiConverter to add the input values and return the result. I've hooked the SAME multibinding with converter XAML to both a TextBlock.Text property and the TextBlock.Margin property to test it. <TextBlock> <TextBlock.Text> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource SumConverter}" ConverterParameter="Add"> <Binding Path="OuterBorderThickness" ElementName="This" /> <Binding Path="InnerBorderThickness" ElementName="This" /> </MultiBinding> </TextBlock.Text> <TextBlock.Margin> <MultiBinding Converter="{StaticResource SumConverter}" ConverterParameter="Add"> <Binding Path="OuterBorderThickness" ElementName="This" /> <Binding Path="InnerBorderThickness" ElementName="This" /> </MultiBinding> </TextBlock.Margin> </TextBlock> I can see the correct value displayed in the TexBlock, but the Margin is not set. Any ideas? EDIT Interestingly, the Margin property can be bound to a data property of type double, but this does not seem to apply within a MultiBinding. As advised by Kent, I changed the Converter to return the value as a Thickness object and now it works. Thanks Kent.

  • irssi keybinding: backward_word/forward_word

    I'm currently experimenting with irssi as my irc client of choice and I'm getting along pretty well. BUT there is one thing I still need to get done. Somehow it isn't possible for me to use the usual CTRL+Left/Right to navigate between words in my input line. For the record: I'm using irssi on a linux-box through a screen session brought to my windows machine via ssh/putty. I already tried some key binding in irssi, maybe I did them wrong? /bind meta-n backward_word /bind meta-m forward_word both work fine. But neither /bind ^left backward_word /bind ^right backward_word nor /bind cleft-left backward_word /bind cleft-right backward_word work for a CTRL+Left/Right setup. Any Ideas?

    I have set up a home web server using Ubuntu 12.10 and I can safely say that it works with regards to router forwarding and ports being found. I know this, because switched my hosting provider's VPS SOA record to use my ISP IP with an 'A' value and had my website running from home. This verified that my server was configured correctly so I started what I believe to be the final step in making my old desktop into a full DNS server. I found this tutorial that got me started My LAN network consists of the following: My router with a gateway of 10.0.0.zzz My server with an IP of 10.0.0.xxx A laptop with an IP of 10.0.0.yyy Step 1: I installed bind via sudo apt-get install bind9 Step2: I configured /etc/bind/named.conf.local with: zone "sognwebdesign.no" { type master; file "/etc/bind/zones/sognwebdesign.no.db"; }; zone "0.0.10.in-addr.arpa" { type master; file "/etc/bind/zones/rev.0.0.10.in-addr.arpa"; }; Step3: Updated /etc/bind/named.conf.options with two ISP DNS addresses Step 4: Updated /etc/resolv.confwith: nameserver 10.0.0.xxx search lan search sognwebdesign.no Step5: created a ``/etc/bind/zones directory Step6: Created /etc/bind/zones/sognwebdesign.no.dbwith: $TTL 3D @ IN SOA ns.sognwebdesign.no. admin.sognwebdesign.no.   • Trouble with Collada bones

    I have a Collada file with a rigged mesh. I've read the node tags in the library_visual_scenes tag and extracted the matrix for each node and stored everything in a hierarchical bone structure. My Matrix container is "row major", so I'd store the first float of a matrix tag in the 1st row, 1st column, the second in the 1st row, 2nd column, etc. From what I gather this is the Bind Pose Matrix. After that I went through the tag and extracted the float array in the source tag of the skin tag of the controller for the mesh. I stored each matrix from this float array in their corresponding Bone as the Inverse Bind Matrix. I also extracted the bind-shape-matrix and stored it. Now I'd like to draw the skeleton with OpenGL to see if everything is working correctly before I go about skinning. I iterate once over my bones and multiply a bone's Bind Pose Matrix by it's parents and store that. After that I iterate again over the bones and multiply the result of the previous matrix multiplication by the Inverse Bind Matrix and then by the Bind Shape Matrix. The results look something like this: [0.2, 9.2, 5.8, 1.2 ] [4.6, -3.3, -0.2, -0.1 ] [-1.8, 0.2, -4.2, -3.9 ] [0, 0, 0, 1 ] I've had to go to various sources to get the little understanding of Collada I have and books about 3d transform matricies can get pretty intense. I've hit a brick wall and if you could please read through this and see if there is something I'm doing wrong, and how I'd go about getting an X,Y,Z to draw a point for each of these joints once I've calculated the final transform, I'd really appreciate it.

  • Android: How to bind spinner to custom object list?

    Hi, In the user interface there has to be a spinner which contains some names (the names are visible) and each name has its own ID (the IDs are not equal to display sequence). When the user selects the name from the list the variable currentID has to be changed. The application contains the ArrayList Where User is an object with ID and name: public class User{ public int ID; public String name; } What I don't know is how to create a spinner which displays the list of user's names and bind spinner items to IDs so when the spinner item is selected/changed the variable currentID is set to appropriate value. I would appreciate if anyone could show the solution of the described problem or provide any link useful to solve the problem. Thanks!
