    I've seen questions to prefix zeros here in SO. But not the other way !! Can you guys suggest me how to remove the leading zeros in alphanumeric text. Are there any built-in APIs or do I need to write a method to trim the leading zero's? Example: 01234 converts to 1234 0001234a converts to 1234a 001234-a converts to 1234-a 101234 remains as 101234 2509398 remains as 2509398 123z remains as 123z 000002829839 converts to 2829839

    How to rotate an image with PHP, any degree, without having the filled space? For instance, if I rotate an image 10 degrees, the image rotates fine but the container around (square) gets filled with black. Is it possible to get rid of this, when for example merging 2 images?

    I want pass a parameter of javascript functiona which is a string. This javascript function is a hintbox on mousehover.. and the string i am using is like this: Hemmed Finish: Every side/edge (1/2" to 2") of the banner are folded and glued (special vinyl solution) or heat pressed. This is the most common and best finish option. Stitched Finish: Every side/edge (1" to 2") of the banner are folded in the back and stitched/sewed with white thread. This is not a common option as thread can be seen on the banner. Now in the hintbox on mousehover the above given text has to be display as it is displayed above along with the paragraph break.. But when i pass the above as parameter in that function along with appending some backslashes to recognise some punctuation, iots till gives me javascript error of unterminated string... I want to set the last N bits of the array to be random noise. [int][int][int][int][int] set last 40 bits [unchanged][unchanged][unchanged][24 bits of old data followed 8 bits of randomness][all random] This is largely language agnostic, but I'm working in C# so bonus points for answers in C#

    Hello, I'm writing an IRCd. For this topic it doesn't really matter if you know much about IRC. Its a simple code style problem. Quick overview of the problem: No message may be longer than 512 characters If the message is more, it must be broken into pieces The NAMES reply sends all the nicknames of users on a channel, and quickly grows beyond 512 characters. I currently concocted this marvelous piece of code, it works perfectly. However, its just not "ruby-like". This piece of code is more what you expect in some piece of C code. # 11 is the number of all fixed characters combined in the reply pre_length = 11 + servername.length + mynick.length + channel.name.length list = [""] i = 0 channel.nicks.each do |nick, client| list[i+=1] = "" if list[i].length + nick.length + pre_length > 500 list[i] << "#{channel.mode_char(client)}#{client.nick} " end list.each { |l| send_numeric(RPL_NAMREPLY, channel.name, l.strip) } send_numeric(RPL_ENDOFNAMES, channel.name) So my question is, any ideas to do this more nicely?     Hi, I have a question: Let's say I have this string var: string strData = "1|2|3|4||a|b|c|d" Then, I make a Split: strNumbers[] = strData.Split("||"); //something like this, I know It's not this simple I need two separate parts, each one containing this: //strNumbers -> {"1","2","3","4"},{"a","b","c","d"} So that after that, I could do this: string[] strNumArray[] = strNumbers[0].Split('|'); //strNumArray -> '1', '2', '3', '4' And same with the other part (letters). Is it possible? to make this double split with the same character, but the first time the character is repeated twice?. Thanks. PD. I'm using C#.

    0x7F000000 is 0111 1111 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 in 32 bit binary. 0x01000058 is 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0101 1000. When I AND the two numbers together I expect 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000, but for some reason I get 0. Here is my code: #define MASK_binop 0x80000000 #define MASK_operation 0x7F000000 int instruction=atoi(line); if((MASK_binop & instruction)>0) printf("binop\n"); else if((MASK_operation & instruction)>0) printf("operation\n"); Each of the above comparisons keeps returning zero. Is it something to do with 32/64 bits? I'm using 64-bit compiler.

  • Manipulating both unicode and ASCII character set in C#

    I have this mapping in my C# application string [,] unicode2Ascii = { { "&#3001;", "\x86" } }; ஹ - is the unicode value for a tamil literal "ஹ". This is the raw hex literal for the unicode value saved by MS Word as a byte sequence. I am trying to map these unicode value "strings" to a hex value under 255 (so as to accommodate non-unicode supported systems). I trying to use string.replace like this: S = S.replace(unicode2Ascii[0,0], unicode2Ascii[0,1]); However the resultant ouput has a ? instead of the actual hex 0x86 stored. Any pointer on how I could set the encoding for the second element of that array to something like windows-1252? Or is there a better way to do this conversion? thanks in advance

    I've inherited some C# code that contains about a thousand lines of source that I need to modify, transforming it from this: newDataRow["to_dir"] = comboBox108.Text; To this: assetAttributes.Add("to_dir", comboBox108.Text); The lines occur in various places throughout the application in groups of 40 or 50. Modifying each line by hand in Visual Studio 2008 can be done but it's labor intensive and prone to errors. Is there a Windows utility out there that will let me cut and paste groups of code into it and then run some sort of reg-ex expression to transform the individual lines one-by-one? I'd also be willing to use some sort of VS 2008 add-in that performed the same set of reg-ex operations against a selection of code. Thanks in advance.

    I'm playing with Python and ctypes and I can't figure out how to resolve this problem. I call to a C function which fills a raw binary data. My code looks like this: class Client(): def __init__(self): self.__BUFSIZE = 1024*1024 self.__buf = ctypes.create_string_buffer(self.__BUFSIZE) self.client = ctypes.cdll.LoadLibrary(r"I:\bin\client.dll") def do_something(self): len_written = self.client.fill_raw_buffer(self.__buf, self.__BUFSIZE) my_string = repr(self.__buf.value) print my_string The problem is that I'm receiving binary data (with 0x00) and it's truncated when I tried to build my_string. How can I build my_string if self._buf contains null bytes 0x00? Any idea is welcome. Thanks
