  • C#/ASP.NET MVC 4 Instantiate Object Derived From Interface In Factory Method

    - by Chris
Currently have a Factory class that features a GetSelector function, which returns a concrete implementation of ISelector. I have several different classes that implement ISelector and based on a setting I would like to receive the appropriate ISelector back. public interface ISelector { string GetValue(string Params); } public class XmlSelector : ISelector { public string GetValue(string Params) { // open XML file and get value } } public static class SelectorFactory { public static ISelector GetSelector() { return new XmlSelector(); // Needs changing to look at settings } } My question is what is the best way to store the setting? I am aware of using AppSettings etc. but I'm not sure whether I want to have to store strings in the web.config and perform a switch on it - just seems to be really tightly coupled in that if a new implementation of ISelector is made, then the Factory would need to be changed. Is there any way of perhaps storing an assembly name and instantiating based on that? Thanks, Chris

  • Android - Video Restart or Resume

    - by Chris
Hi everyone, I am writing a simple android application with a class that extends activity, that plays a video from a url on the web. There is a button on top that on click takes the user to a web page. What I want to do is when the user is browsing the web page, if he hits the back button, I want him to come back to the main activity and restart the video. Is there a way to do this? Also, is there a way the video can be resumed from where it left off? Thank you. Chris

  • Java URLConnection Timeout

    - by Chris
I am trying to parse an XML file from an HTTP URL. I want to configure a timeout of 15 seconds if the XML fetch takes longer than that, I want to report a timeout. For some reason, the setConnectTimeout and setReadTimeout do not work. Here's the code: URL url = new URL("http://www.myurl.com/sample.xml"); URLConnection urlConn = url.openConnection(); urlConn.setConnectTimeout(15000); urlConn.setReadTimeout(15000); urlConn.setAllowUserInteraction(false); urlConn.setDoOutput(true); InputStream inStream = urlConn.getInputStream(); InputSource input = new InputSource(inStream); And I am catching the SocketTimeoutException. Thanks Chris

  • PHP, include with parameters

    - by chris
hi! I have a PHP-file which will be called from a form. So it gets parameters over $_GET. Now I need the exact same functionality of this file, but not in such a form-call. I will include it in normal code with fixed parameters (which normally come from the form). So my file can work with the form AND without it. I know only the way with include and setting the $_GET in front of it. But I am not sure this is the most elegant way (I dont like the idea of setting things like $_GET). any other ways of doing this? br, chris

  • Jquery - Move Div around

    - by Chris
Hi there guys, I am using Jquery Drag and drop to move divs across a page and this works perfectly. however what i would like is on each one of the div containers is to have a close button which when clicks removes the div from where it is and places it in a pre-defined div at the bottom like a widget gallery. How would this be accomplished? - below is my html.. thanks Chris <div class='column' id='leftcolumn'></div> <div class='column' id='rightcolumn'> <div class='dragbox'> <span class='close'>Close</span> Content In here </div> </div> <div class='column' id='widgetgallery></div>

  • Is there a graphics/game engine that supports PC & Mac?

    - by Chris Masterton
Is their a graphics that runs on both Mac & PC? I've seen Unity and thats a possibility, I'm wondering if there are any other choices. Ideally I want to port the same C++ game code to both PC & Mac platforms, but let the underlying game/graphics engine take advantage of the appropriate hardware. edit: I'm looking on the level of Torque, Gamebryo & Unreal. A commercial solution is perfectly acceptable. Thanks, Chris

  • Overloading stream insertion without violating information hiding?

    - by Chris
I'm using yaml-cpp for a project. I want to overload the << and >> operators for some classes, but I'm having an issue grappling with how to "properly" do this. Take the Note class, for example. It's fairly boring: class Note { public: // constructors Note( void ); ~Note( void ); // public accessor methods void number( const unsigned long& number ) { _number = number; } unsigned long number( void ) const { return _number; } void author( const unsigned long& author ) { _author = author; } unsigned long author( void ) const { return _author; } void subject( const std::string& subject ) { _subject = subject; } std::string subject( void ) const { return _subject; } void body( const std::string& body ) { _body = body; } std::string body( void ) const { return _body; } private: unsigned long _number; unsigned long _author; std::string _subject; std::string _body; }; The << operator is easy sauce. In the .h: YAML::Emitter& operator << ( YAML::Emitter& out, const Note& v ); And in the .cpp: YAML::Emitter& operator << ( YAML::Emitter& out, const Note& v ) { out << v.number() << v.author() << v.subject() << v.body(); return out; } No sweat. Then I go to declare the >> operator. In the .h: void operator >> ( const YAML::Node& node, Note& note ); But in the .cpp I get: void operator >> ( const YAML::Node& node, Note& note ) { node[0] >> ? node[1] >> ? node[2] >> ? node[3] >> ? return; } If I write things like node[0] >> v._number; then I would need to change the CV-qualifier to make all of the Note fields public (which defeats everything I was taught (by professors, books, and experience))) about data hiding. I feel like doing node[0] >> temp0; v.number( temp0 ); all over the place is not only tedious, error-prone, and ugly, but rather wasteful (what with the extra copies). Then I got wise: I attempted to move these two operators into the Note class itself, and declare them as friends, but the compiler (GCC 4.4) didn't like that: src/note.h:44: error: ‘YAML::Emitter& Note::operator<<(YAML::Emitter&, const Note&)’ must take exactly one argument src/note.h:45: error: ‘void Note::operator(const YAML::Node&, Note&)’ must take exactly one argument Question: How do I "properly" overload the >> operator for a class Without violating the information hiding principle? Without excessive copying?

  • XNA 3D model collision is inaccurate

    - by Daniel Lopez
I am creating a classic game in 3d that deals with asteriods and you have to shoot them and avoid being hit from them. I can generate the asteroids just fine and the ship can shoot bullets just fine. But the asteroids always hit the ship even it doesn't look they are even close. I know 2D collision very well but not 3D so can someone please shed some light to my problem. Thanks in advance. • Linux - Only first virtual interface can ping external gateway

    - by husvar
I created 3 virtual interfaces with different mac addresses all linked to the same physical interface. I see that they successfully arp for the gw and they can ping (the request is coming in the packet capture in wireshark). However the ping utility does not count the responses. Does anyone knows the issue? I am running Ubuntu 14.04 in a VmWare. root@ubuntu:~# ip link sh 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/ether 00:0c:29:bc:fc:8b brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff root@ubuntu:~# ip addr sh 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever inet6 ::1/128 scope host valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever 2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP group default qlen 1000 link/ether 00:0c:29:bc:fc:8b brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff inet6 fe80::20c:29ff:febc:fc8b/64 scope link valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever root@ubuntu:~# ip route sh root@ubuntu:~# ip link add link eth0 eth0.1 addr 00:00:00:00:00:11 type macvlan root@ubuntu:~# ip link add link eth0 eth0.2 addr 00:00:00:00:00:22 type macvlan root@ubuntu:~# ip link add link eth0 eth0.3 addr 00:00:00:00:00:33 type macvlan root@ubuntu:~# ip -4 link sh 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000 link/ether 00:0c:29:bc:fc:8b brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 18: eth0.1@eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default link/ether 00:00:00:00:00:11 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 19: eth0.2@eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default link/ether 00:00:00:00:00:22 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 20: eth0.3@eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default link/ether 00:00:00:00:00:33 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff root@ubuntu:~# ip -4 addr sh 1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever root@ubuntu:~# ip -4 route sh root@ubuntu:~# dhclient -v eth0.1 Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Client 4.2.4 Copyright 2004-2012 Internet Systems Consortium. • Triple monitor setup in linux

    - by Brendan Abel
I'm hoping there are some xorg gurus out there. I'm trying to get a three monitor setup working in linux. I have 2 lcd monitors and a tv, all different resolutions. I'm using 2 video cards; a 9800 GTX and 7900Gt. I've seen a lot of different posts about people trying to make this work, and in every case, they either gave up, or Xinerama magically solved all their problems. Basically, my main problem is that I cannot get Xinerama to work. Every time I turn it on in the options, my machine gets stuck in a neverending boot cycle. If I disable Xinerama, I just have three Xorg screens, but I can't drag windows from one to the other. I can get the 2 lcds on Twinview, and the tv on a separate Xorg screen no problem. But I don't really like this solution. I'd rather have them all on separate screens and stitch them together with Xinerama. Has anyone done this? Here's my xorg.conf for reference. p.s. This took me all of 30 seconds to set up in Windows XP! p.s.s. I've seen somewhere that maybe randr can solve my problems? But I'm not quite sure how? • High Server Load cannot figure out why

    - by Tim Bolton
My server is currently running CentOS 5.2, with WHM 11.34. Currently, we're at 6.43 to 12 for a load average. The sites that we're hosting are taking a lot time to respond and resolve. top doesn't show anything out of the ordinary and iftop doesn't show a lot of traffic. We have many resellers, and some not so good at writing code, how can we find the culprit? vmstat output: vmstat procs -----------memory---------- ---swap-- -----io---- --system-- -----cpu------ r b • Puppet's automatically generated certificates failing

    - by gparent
I am running a default configuration of Puppet on Debian Squeeze 6.0.4. The server's FQDN is master.example.com. The client's FQDN is client.example.com. I am able to contact the puppet master and send a CSR. I sign it using puppetca -sa but the client will still not connect. Date of both machines is within 2 seconds of Tue Apr 3 20:59:00 UTC 2012 as I wrote this sentence. This is what appears in /var/log/syslog: Apr 3 17:03:52 localhost puppet-agent[18653]: Reopening log files Apr 3 17:03:52 localhost puppet-agent[18653]: Starting Puppet client version 2.6.2 Apr 3 • ftp connection problem, vsftp server, active mode

    - by Mark Szente
    I have a server that runs vsftpd to handle ftp connections. One of my users have a notebook with Total Commander and WinSCP installed. Both ftp clients fail right after the connection is established to the server and it tries to download the directory listing without any particular error message. The weird thing is: the notebook works perfectly ok with other ftp servers. My ftp server also works well with other clients. In fact, this user also has a pc running on the same LAN as the notebook and the pc works well with the ftp server. We use active ftp connection mode. Passive mode works well but is not an option at this point. I would post more technical details but I don't even know what this problem is related to. Anyway, below is the server side tcpdump for the failed connection attempt. There's no further communication between the client and the server after the last line of log. Thank you very much for any hint! 23:39:24.514852 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: S 1314489715:1314489715(0) win 65535 <mss 1460,nop,wscale 3,nop,nop,sackOK> 23:39:24.514896 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: S 2633658883:2633658883(0) ack 1314489716 win 5840 <mss 1460,nop,nop,sackOK,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:24.520842 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 1 win 62500 23:39:24.523803 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 1:21(20) ack 1 win 1460 23:39:24.546858 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 1:15(14) ack 21 win 62497 23:39:24.546902 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 15 win 1460 23:39:24.547247 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 21:55(34) ack 15 win 1460 23:39:24.762806 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 55 win 62493 23:39:30.415011 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 15:28(13) ack 55 win 62493 23:39:30.454116 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 28 win 1460 23:39:31.036283 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 55:78(23) ack 28 win 1460 23:39:31.053018 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 28:34(6) ack 78 win 62490 23:39:31.053042 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 34 win 1460 23:39:31.053268 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 78:97(19) ack 34 win 1460 23:39:31.068969 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 34:40(6) ack 97 win 62488 23:39:31.069148 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 97:112(15) ack 40 win 1460 23:39:31.069179 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 112:119(7) ack 40 win 1460 23:39:31.076981 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 119 win 62485 23:39:31.077010 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 119:177(58) ack 40 win 1460 23:39:31.114979 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 40:45(5) ack 177 win 62478 23:39:31.115164 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 177:186(9) ack 45 win 1460 23:39:31.180966 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 45:53(8) ack 186 win 62476 23:39:31.181066 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 186:216(30) ack 53 win 1460 23:39:31.213065 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 53:80(27) ack 216 win 62473 23:39:31.213180 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 216:267(51) ack 80 win 1460 23:39:31.251086 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 80:86(6) ack 267 win 62466 23:39:31.251498 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054371220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:31.290979 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 86 win 1460 23:39:34.251489 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054374220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:40.249625 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054380220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:43.695108 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.1057: P 2280716551:2280716588(37) ack 3838413728 win 5840 23:39:52.248791 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054392220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:40:16.245159 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054416221 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:40:29.853685 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.1057: FP 37:51(14) ack 1 win 5840 23:40:31.241951 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 267:304(37) ack 86 win 1460 23:40:31.381708 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 304 win 62462

  • Cannot access website from inside network

    - by musclez
I have a website running from my internal network available at the example IP 192.168.1.5. When I type this in to the browser, it redirects to my domain name ie, "example.com", and gives me Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Any other machine that is inside of the network can access the website. The website is also accessible outside of the network. Other services from the server, like file sharing or ftp, are available to all machines in the network including the one i'm having issues http issues with. The issue may be linked to a proxy service, but from my understanding the service has been completely disabled and any executable have been uninstalled from the machine. I am wondering if there is some residual proxy information remaining on the machine that limits the connection. I'm fairly positive that "example.com" is what is being blocked by the local machine, and not an IP address being blocked or a faulty connection. When I examine the hosts file, there are no redirects to the local machine for "example.com". There was a rule, as on my other machines within the network: 192.168.1.5 example.com But i have since removed that for troubleshooting purposes. What intrigued me is that when I use the actual IP, the IP address will redirect to the domain in the browser and THEN say ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. Server-Side Results The server logs are reporting this: example.com ::1 - - [Date & time] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 126 "-" "Apache/2. 2.22 (Unix) (internal dummy connection)" However, this seems to be irrelevant as it is not triggered when I try to connect to the server with the specified machine. Fiddler results: Host: *example.com* Proxy-Connection: keep-alive Chrome-Side [Fiddler] The connection to 'example.com' failed. Error: ConnectionRefused (0x274d). System.Net.Sockets. I am doing so reading into 0x274d and its coming back with .NET web.config information. I am still at a loss to what to do with this information. I have WireShark running as well. Theres is a lot of sensitive information in the readout and I'm not sure what to extract from it. Either way, if it helps, I can access that information if anyone would like me to. • Windows Server 2008 R2 network adapter stops working, requires hard reboot

    - by Geoff Dalgas
TL;DR version: Turns out this was a Windows Server 2008 R2 kernel networking bug. After siccing Microsoft support on it, we (eventually) got an unpublished kernel hotfix from Microsoft to address it. If you, too, are experiencing mysterious low-level network driver failures requiring a reboot/bluescreen cycle, you might want that hotfix (or maybe Service Pack 1 whenever it is released, too.) We have been using HAProxy along with heartbeat from the Linux-HA project. We are using two linux instances to provide a failover. Each server has with their own public IP and a single IP which is shared between the two using a virtual interface (eth1:1) at IP: 69.59.196.211 The virtual interface (eth1:1) IP 69.59.196.211 is configured as the gateway for the windows servers behind them and we use ip_forwarding to route traffic. We are experiencing an occasional network outage on one of our windows servers behind our linux gateways. HAProxy will detect the server is offline which we can verify by remoting to the failed server and attempting to ping the gateway: Pinging 69.59.196.211 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 69.59.196.220: Destination host unreachable. Running arp -a on this failed server shows that there is no entry for the gateway address (69.59.196.211): Interface: 69.59.196.220 --- 0xa Internet Address Physical Address Type 69.59.196.161 00-26-88-63-c7-80 dynamic 69.59.196.210 00-15-5d-0a-3e-0e dynamic 69.59.196.212 00-21-5e-4d-45-c9 dynamic 69.59.196.213 00-15-5d-00-b2-0d dynamic 69.59.196.215 00-21-5e-4d-61-1a dynamic 69.59.196.217 00-21-5e-4d-2c-e8 dynamic 69.59.196.219 00-21-5e-4d-38-e5 dynamic 69.59.196.221 00-15-5d-00-b2-0d dynamic 69.59.196.222 00-15-5d-0a-3e-09 dynamic 69.59.196.223 ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff static 224.0.0.22 01-00-5e-00-00-16 static 224.0.0.252 01-00-5e-00-00-fc static 225.0.0.1 01-00-5e-00-00-01 static On our linux gateway instances arp -a shows: peak-colo-196-220.peak.org (69.59.196.220) at <incomplete> on eth1 stackoverflow.com (69.59.196.212) at 00:21:5e:4d:45:c9 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-215.peak.org (69.59.196.215) at 00:21:5e:4d:61:1a [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-219.peak.org (69.59.196.219) at 00:21:5e:4d:38:e5 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-222.peak.org (69.59.196.222) at 00:15:5d:0a:3e:09 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-209.peak.org (69.59.196.209) at 00:26:88:63:c7:80 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-217.peak.org (69.59.196.217) at 00:21:5e:4d:2c:e8 [ether] on eth1 Why would arp occasionally set the entry for this failed server as <incomplete>? Should we be defining our arp entries statically? I've always left arp alone since it works 99% of the time, but in this one instance it appears to be failing. Are there any additional troubleshooting steps we can take help resolve this issue? THINGS WE HAVE TRIED I added a static arp entry for testing on one of the linux gateways which still didn't help. root@haproxy2:~# arp -a peak-colo-196-215.peak.org (69.59.196.215) at 00:21:5e:4d:61:1a [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-221.peak.org (69.59.196.221) at 00:15:5d:00:b2:0d [ether] on eth1 stackoverflow.com (69.59.196.212) at 00:21:5e:4d:45:c9 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-219.peak.org (69.59.196.219) at 00:21:5e:4d:38:e5 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-209.peak.org (69.59.196.209) at 00:26:88:63:c7:80 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-217.peak.org (69.59.196.217) at 00:21:5e:4d:2c:e8 [ether] on eth1 peak-colo-196-220.peak.org (69.59.196.220) at 00:21:5e:4d:30:8d [ether] PERM on eth1 root@haproxy2:~# arp -i eth1 -s 69.59.196.220 00:21:5e:4d:30:8d root@haproxy2:~# ping 69.59.196.220 PING 69.59.196.220 (69.59.196.220) 56(84) bytes of data. --- 69.59.196.220 ping statistics --- 7 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 6006ms Rebooting the windows web server solves this issue temporarily with no other changes to the network but our experience shows this issue will come back. Swapping network cards and switches I noticed the link light on the port of the switch for the failed windows server was running at 100Mb instead of 1Gb on the failed interface. I moved the cable to several other open ports and the link indicated 100Mb for each port that I tried. I also swapped the cable with the same result. I tried changing the properties of the network card in windows and the server locked up and required a hard reset after clicking apply. This windows server has two physical network interfaces so I have swapped the cables and network settings on the two interfaces to see if the problem follows the interface. If the public interface goes down again we will know that it is not an issue with the network card. (We also tried another switch we have on hand, no change) Changing network hardware driver versions We've had the same problem with the latest Broadcom driver, as well as the built-in driver that ships in Windows Server 2008 R2. Replacing network cables As a last ditch effort we remembered another change that occurred was the replacement of all of the patch cords between our servers / switch. We had purchased two sets, one green of lengths 1ft - 3ft for the private interfaces and another set of red cables for the public interfaces. We swapped out all of the public interface patch cables with a different brand and ran our servers without issue for a full week ... aaaaaand then the problem recurred. Disable checksum offload, remove TProxy We also tried disabling TCP/IP checksum offload in the driver, no change. We're now pulling out TProxy and moving to a more traditional x-forwarded-for network arrangement without any fancy IP address rewriting. We'll see if that helps. Switch Virtualization providers On the off chance this was related to Hyper-V in some way (we do host Linux VMs on it), we switched to VMWare Server. No change. Switch host model We've reached the end of our troubleshooting rope and are now formally involving Microsoft support. They recommended changing the host model: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Host_model http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.cableguy.aspx We did that, and.. we'll see.

  • SSH tuneling and machine selection

With putty on windows I added some tunnel for terminal service through ssh 6664 192.168.20.44:3389 6665 192.168.20.45:3389 6666 192.168.20.46:3389 So when I connect with client to 127.0.0.1:6664 it work... Now I want to use localtest.me to select the machine directly without port number. I want when I type foo.localtest.me in TS client to connect automaticaly on the 127.0.0.1:3389 is it possible or do I need a proxy to translate port regarding domain name.

  • Set a custom start date for week numbers

    - by Graham Wager
Outlook has the ability to show week numbers down the side of the calendar in monthly view, and on the mini-calendar: In options, you can set the first week of the year, but only to the following three options: This is all very nice, but at work our "year" starts on a different date to match up with accounting periods - it's currently week 37 rather than 45! I'd like Outlook to be able to tell me which week it is at work, so is there any way I can set a custom date to be the first week of the year?

  • hosts file for ip address

    - by Jon Clegg
I would like to map ip address to specific localhost interfaces (e.g. 23.45.66.77 = 127.0.3.3). For named hosts I can use the hosts file. Naturally this doesn't work for IP address. This has to work in windows, the only option I've found so far is implementing a TAP/TUN driver like openvpn does. Are there any other options?
