    I have a test using Cucumber, capybara and selenium driver. This test should go to a form and submit it. The normal text would be Scenario: Fill form Given I am on the Form page When I fill in "field1" with "value1" And I fill in "field2" with "value2" And I press "OK" Then I should see "Form submited" The problem is that I don't have the OK button in the form I need a way to do the "form.submit", without clicking any button or link - the same as happens when you press ENTER when you are in a form field using the browser. I don't know how to tell capybara to submit a form. How can I do it?

  • jQuery Flow Control (if then from URL params)

    Strangely enough I am more familiar with jQuery than I am with javascript. I need to be able to add a class to the body tag of a document depending on what specific forum page i'm on in a phpbb forum. Due to the nature of phpbb I can't actually do this flow control in php, so I am using jquery. Here's my code (the first part is an extend that gets the url parameters like so http://www.mysite.com/viewforum.php?f=3 var forum = $.getUrlVar('f'); will make forum == 3 because of the nature of phpbb i can't really do any flow control with php. So I am using jquery.     I have a standard aspx page with which I need to add another standard HTML form into and have it submit to another location (external site), however whenever I press the submit button the page seems to do a post back rather than using the sub-forms action url. A mock up of what the form relationships is below. And when all loading is finished, the form must disappear. Also, what's the "preview" variable called that I should use in my preview.html template? {{preview}} or do I just do {{form}} again? -- Answered below. I tried adding 'django.contrib.formtools' to my installed_apps in settings and I tried using the code from the default form templates from django.contrib as suggested below. Still, when I submit the form I go right back to the post template, none of my print statements execute :(

Right now, I have this, which works: <%= link_to 'Edit', :edit, :type => 'book', :id => book %> The above works, and outputs: http://localhost:3000/books/edit/1?type=book What I want to do is something like this: <% link_to :edit, :type => 'book', :id => book do %> ... <% end %> But the above format outputs: http://localhost:3000/books/edit/ Which isn't what I'm looking for... I want it to output a URL like the previous example. How can I achieve this?

  • Windows Form user control hosted in WPF - How to capture the leave event?

    Hi, In my WPF application I'm hosting a custom Windows Form User Control together with other wpf controls. My custom user control is hosted in wpf using a WindowsFormsHost control. This custom user control contains (the parent so to speak) other custom win form controls (children controls). The children controls can be single or composite controls. How can I capture the leave event on a child control when the user navigates from the last child user control in the parent custom user control to a wpf user control? According to MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms751797.aspx) the leave event is not supported in following scenarios: Enter and Leave events are not raised when the following focus changes occur: 1. From inside to outside a WindowsFormsHost control. 2. From outside to inside a WindowsFormsHost control. 3. Outside a WindowsFormsHost control. 4. From a Windows Forms control hosted in a WindowsFormsHost control to an ElementHost control hosted inside the same WindowsFormsHost. Scenario 1 and 2 is exactly what I struggle with.   • How do I pass a reference type to Control.Invoke / display a form centered on the main form

    I'm on a thread other than the UI thread and need to display a modal form that's centered on the application's main form. What I usually do is use the width and height of the main form and the modal form to calculate the location, then use the PointToScreen method of the main form to get the location of the modal form. Since I'm on another thread I need to use Control.Invoke to call this method. I just can't figure out how to pass a parameter of type Point to Control.Invoke (params object[]). Value types and String works fine. Or, if someone can find a better way to display a form centered on the main form regardless of thread, that would be great. MessageBox seems to be able to do this (although not modally).

    Ok, I understand perl hash slices, and the "x" operator in Perl, but can someone explain the following code example from here (slightly simplified)? sub test{ my %hash; @hash{@_} = (undef) x @_; } Example Call to sub: test('one', 'two', 'three'); This line is what throws me: @hash{@_} = (undef) x @_; It is creating a hash where the keys are the parameters to the sub and initializing to undef, so: %hash: 'one' = undef, 'two' = undef, 'three' = undef The rvalue of the x operator should be a number; how is it that @_ is interpreted as the length of the sub's parameter array? I would expect you'd at least have to do this: @hash{@_} = (undef) x length(@_);

  • JSF don't find component in view root with the form id

    I have a t:inputFileUpload inside the form, in the html of the display page the id of this component is form:inputFile but when I tried to get the component from the view root using "form:inputFile" the return is null, but when the "form:" is removed the return is the component. The component don't set the value in my managed bean, someone have this problem? EDIT: <h:form id="form" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <t:inputFileUpload id="inputFile" size="40" value="#{managedBean.inputFile}"/> </h:form> In the managed bean: private UploadedFile inputFile; with the gets and sets provided by Eclipse. //This method scans the view root and returns the component with the id passed as parameter findComponentInRoot("form:inputFile"); This returns null, but when I use: //This method scans the view root and returns the component with the id passed as parameter findComponentInRoot("inputFile"); The return is the component I'm looking for, but when I use the View Source in Internet Explorer the id of this component is "form:inputFile". I don't know if this is related, but the component don't set the value in my managed bean and it's strange the fact that the id of the component is different from the HTML source. I'm using JSF 1.2 Mojarra. Someone else has this problem? Or know why this happens?

  • Generating custom-form documents from base-form plus XML?

    Hi all, this is my first stack overflow, and it's a complex one. Sorry. My task is to generate custom documents from a basic template plus some XML without having a custom form design element for each case. Here's the whole picture: We are building a Lotus Notes (client, not web) application for world-wide application access control; the scope is something like 400.000 users being able to request access to any of 1000+ applications. Each application needs its own request form -- different number of approvers, various info required, that sort of thing. We simply can't have a thousand forms in a database (one per application), and anyway their maintenance really needs to be pushed from the developers to the application owners. So instead of custom forms, we'd like to create a generic "template" form that stores a block of basic fields, but then allows application owners to define another block of fields dynamically -- "I want a mandatory plain-text field named 'Name' here, and then a date field named 'Due' here that must be later than today's date, and then ...". I hope this makes sense (if not, think of it as a generic questionnaire application). I pretty much have the structure in place for designing the dynamic fields (form builder GUI - XML-encoded data - pre-rendered DXL for injecting into a form), including mark-up for field types, value options, and rudimentary field validation instructions. My problem is generating a document with this dynamic content injected at the proper location (without needing a custom form design element for each case). Doing the dynamic content via HTML is out. The Notes client web rendering is simply way too poor, and it would be quite a challenge to implement things like field validation instructions, date selectors, and name look-ups. DXL, on the other hand, would allow us to use native Notes fields and code. As a tech demo, I've managed to implement a custom form generator that injects the pre-rendered DXL for the dynamic content into a base form; but as I said, we don't want a ton of custom form design elements. I've tried to implement a way to create a document with the "store form in document" flag set, but once I've created the document from the base form, I can't get DXL access to the stored form design, and so I can't inject my dynamic content. I know this is not something Notes was ever intended to do. Has anyone ever tried something like it (and gotten away with it)? Thanks for reading this far.   • Sending changing params through periodically_call_remote

    I'm using periodically_call_remote to update a portion of a page that contains a list of objects. I send along with the url a param containing the created_at date for the most recent object in the database. The action that is called then get all the objects that have been created since then and renders a partial which displays them at the top of the list. The problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to make it so that the next time periodically_call_remote triggers it sends along the created_at date for the new most recent object (if there is one). I tried putting the periodically_call_remote inside the partial that is being rendered but that caused all sorts of problems (http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/101614 explains why you shouldn't do that). Is there some way I can make periodically_call_remote send along a new param each time it's called? As it stands right now it just sends the same one over and over which means that new objects get rendered more than once.

When the parent form of the child form is set to the mdi - it appears the system does not release memory - thus a leak. When the parent form is not set, the child form is removed. Does anyone know why this apparent memory leak can be resolved? I've been using the ants memory profiler. Bob.

    Hello folks. I've been getting lots of answers from stackoverflow now that I'm in Django just be searching. Now I hope my question will also create some value for everybody. In choosing Django, I was hoping there was some similar mechanism to the way you can do partials in ROR. This was going to help me in two ways. One was in generating repeating indexed forms or form elements, and also in rendering only a piece of the page on the round trip. I've done a little bit of that by using taconite with a simple URL click but now I'm trying to get more advanced. This will focus on the form issue which boils down to how to iterate over a secondary object. If I have a list of photo instances, each of which has a couple of parameters, let's say a size and a quantity. I want to generate form elements for each photo instance separately. But then I have two lists I want to iterate on at the same time. Context: photos : Photo.objects.all() and forms = {} for photo in photos: forms[photo.id] = PhotoForm() In other words we've got a list of photo objects and a dict of forms based on the photo.id. Here's an abstraction of the template: {% for photo in photos %} {% include "photoview.html" %} {% comment %} So here I want to use the photo.id as an index to get the correct form. So that each photo has its own form. I would want to have a different action and each form field would be unique. Is that possible? How can I iterate on that?     I need to have multiple submit buttons. I have a form which creates an instance of Contact_Call. One button creates it as normal. The other button creates it but needs to have a different :attribute value from the default, and it also needs to set the attribute on a different, but related model used in the controller. How do I do that? I can't change the route, so is there a way to send a different variable that gets picked up by [:params]? And if I do then, what do I do in the controller, set up a case statement?
