• Jquery - Get all other menus to slide up

  I have a drop down menu made with Jquery. Right now, if you hover over all the menu items, their submenus will all show at the same time. I would like that if I hover over one menu, then go to the next, that the previous menu's submenu will slide back up. As it is now, I have to hover out of the submenus for them to slide up. • How to know when a pop-down menu needs to be closed

  I'm experimenting with pop-down menus (inside floating DIVs). Making them appear with onmouseover attributes is no problem, but I'm not sure how I can make the menu close properly. I figured the best way to know when to close the menu is wait until the mouse is no longer hovering over the HTML element that called the menu or the menu itself, then wait one second, and then close the menu. Is my idea something that can be implemented, perhaps with some jQuery? Or is there a better and more efficient alternative?

It says that i should remove the @Override. When i remove the @Override the error is gone and the application runs fine but pressing the menu button does nothing. What am i doing wrong here?

I did a research and found that overriding IDocHostUIHandler::ShowContextMenu in a IE BHO can customized IE context menu. The sample project can be found in Popup blocker project published in codeproject. It works well and is easy to implement. However this approach has a problem. The problem is it will conflict with other add-ons' context menu customization per MSDN. In MSDN Internet Explorer Center forum, there are some discussions about this topic.   is it not possible to have different context menus for different sprites on the stage? i've tried adding a custom context menu to a sprite but it's applied to the entire stage: mySprite.contextMenu = myMenu; then after reading the documentation where it states: You can attach a ContextMenu object to a specific button, movie clip, or text field object, or to an entire movie level. You use the menu property of the Button, MovieClip, or TextField class to do this. ok, so i though i had to write it like: mySprite.menu.contextMenu = myMenu; only to be greeted with a nice migration issue stating that menu is legacy code and to use contextMenu instead. ??? um, thanks for the headsup, documentation. this process would be entirely much more easier if i could extend the ContextMenu, but for some reason it's marked as "final" and can't be extended... i'm sure adobe's reasons for finalizing the context menu class are as good as their reasons for including misleading documentation. thoughts?

• WPF: Menu items and combo boxes don't render in Windows 7 64-bit

  I'm trying to use an existing internal WPF application (I do have access to the source), but it was developed on XP and I'm using Windows7 64-bit. When I click (for instance) the File menu, 90% of the time I see no drop-down menu at all. The menu still exists - I can use the arrow keys to navigate up and down and choose an option if I happen to know the order of the options, but nothing renders at all. The other 10% of the time, the menu or some portion of it DOES render, but as I move the cursor up and down I get graphical corruption or disappearing options until I end up back at the "no menu is visible at all" state. This is also true of combo boxes within the application - they show no data when I drop them down, but I can arrow down and choose an entry. Microsoft has some advice about WPF rendering issues here but none of these steps has helped with my issue.

• Dropdown menu getting hidden by images

  I have a set of dropdown menus across the top of a web page. Below is text and some images. When I hover over the top of each menu the menu then expands below as expected but while it overlaps any text on the page it is hidden behind any images. I set the z-index to 9999 and the position is set to absolute. I found if I lower the opacity of the images to say 0.6 then the menu will overlap it. So one solution would be to detect when the menu is being hovered over and then in JavaScript or JQuery temporarily reduce the opacity of the rest of the page until the cursor moves off the menu. If so I'm not sure how to do that but is that the best approach?

  I have been having problems with this for some time now, and have come up with some less-than-desirable solutions. The problem is that when a TreeViewItem's context menu is opened, the TreeViewItem is greyed out. Is it possible for a TreeViewItem to stay highlighted while its ContextMenu is open? The problem with the TreeViewItem greying out, is that it gives no relation to the context menu and the TreeViewItem, and it looks ugly. Generally, the code I use for setting a context menu is this. Sometimes the context menu will be generated by the code with a PreviewRightMouseButtonDown EventSetter, but it doesn't make a difference. <TreeView> <TreeView.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TreeViewItem}"> <Setter Property="ContextMenu"> <Setter.Value> <ContextMenu> <MenuItem Header="Menu Item 1" /> <MenuItem Header="Menu Item 2" /> </ContextMenu> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </TreeView.Resources> <TreeViewItem Header="Item 1"> <TreeViewItem Header="Sub-Item 1"/> </TreeViewItem> <TreeViewItem Header="Item 2"></TreeViewItem> </TreeView> So far the only solution I have found is to override the "grey" unfocused color with the focused color, but then the TreeView never seems unfocused, such as when another control is clicked on. I have had problems with ListViews as well.

Now inside requestmap table I have all the possible urls and it's equivalent roles who can access that url... Now I want to generate menus and submenus based on the urls stored in requestmap table... So my requirement is to check the urls of menu & submenus against the logged in users privileges... And if logged in user has any one privilege then I need to display that main menu and the available submenus.... For e.g. I have a menu in my project called user which has a following submenus : **Users (main menu)** Manage Users (sub menu) Import Users (sub menu) Now inside my header.gsp I have successfully achieved the above requirement using if else condition, like : if ( privs.contains("/users/manageUsers") || privs.contains("/users/importUsers")) here privs are the list of urls from requestmap table for logged in user. But I want to achieve these using spring security tag lib, so for comparing urls I have find following tag from spring security core documentation : <sec:access url="/users/manageUsers"> But i am bit confuse that how I can replace or condition using tag library.. Is there any tag available which checks from multiple urls and evaluate it to true or false ? Of course I can do using sec:access tag with some flag logic, but is there any tags available which can fulfill my requirement directly ? Thanks in advance...

  I have a nib (winA.xib) that contains a window. My app delegate contains an NSWindowController subclass called WinAController. WinAController has a property (NSMenu *mainMenu) that I want to point to the MainMenu. I have set it after I instantiate WinAController with this code: WinAController = [[WinAController alloc] initWithWindowNibName:@"WinA"]; WinAController.mainMenu = [NSApp mainMenu]; I have a menu item underneath the "Window" top-level menu item on MainMenu that invokes the [WinAController showWindow] method and displays WinA. I want to toggle the on/off state of this menu item depending on whether WinA is visible or not. WinAController also has another property (NSMenuItem *myMenuItem). How can I get a reference to a sub menu of the "Window" top-level menu item. The title of sub menu item I want to get is "Command". • Firefox 4 show tools menu in button interface

  I like the extra vertical space provided by the latest firefox beta (4b9). However, the button interface doesn't give you access to the tools menu. I know that I can either temporarily enable the menubar by holding down the ALT key, but flipping a flag in about:config would be preferable. Does such a flag exist? Edit: I want to be able to access the tools menu from the new button interface like you can with Bookmarks, History, Options, and Help.

  On my Ubuntu 9.04 ("Karmic") laptop I suspect grub does not use the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. What happens on boot is that I see a blank screen and nothing happens. When I press ESC I see a boot list which is different from what I would expect from the menu.lst file. The menu lines are different and when I choose the first entry it does not use the kernel options that are in the first entry in menu.lst. Where do the entries that grub uses come from? How can I find out what happens, is there a log? I could not find anything in /var/log/syslog or /var/log/dmesg about grub using a menu.lst. How can I set it to work like expected?   Hello fellows, I am trying to develop a dynamic drop down menu by a customized widget style The custom widget has two main features: Read user's location cookies variable to set the proper contact phone number in the CP pages When users select on the drop down menu, it triggers onChange event, it re-select the contact phone number based on users' selections, but it won't reset the location cookies. As you see, I got two similar duplicate functions to handle events. Users go to the page, the widget read the cookies variable to display contact info (locale2contact)and preselect the drop-down menu (function build_dropdown) If users select the drop down menu, the displya contact info change (function changeContactInfo), and then I need to rebuild the drop down menu with user previously selection (function build_dropdown2). I am looking for best practices for adding this functionality to RightNow widget. Thank you. I really do not like the way i am doing now. It works; but the code looks bad.
