  • Outlook 2003 View Control with C#

    I want to embed a custom c# windows form (or WPF) user control into an outlook view. I am using Outlook 2003 and Visual Studio 2008. I did download an example for Outlook 2007 here: http://blogs.msdn.com/e2eblog/archive/2008/01/09/outlook-folder-homepage-hosting-wpf-activex-and-windows-forms-controls.aspx and also here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479345.aspx I tested it and under 2007 it is working, but for 2003 i am getting the following error when i want to open the view: Could not complete the operation due to error 80131509 I can start it from Visual Studio, it is registering the folder just fine, debugging works and all that. It creates an HTML page that contains my type as an object parameter - but the Initialize method that should be called is either not present (not shown via JS) or it has some errors. The breakpoints for RegisterSafeForScripting are also never hit - maybe related to that. Thx in advance!

    I am building a Android app and I am a bit struggling with custom Views. I would like to have a reusable View that consist of a few standard layout elements. Let's say a relativelayout with some buttons in it. How should I proceed. Should I create a custom view class that extends RelativeLayout and programmaticly add those buttons? I would think that's a bit overkill? What's the way to do it properly in Android?

    Hi, I begin with ZF (1.9.7), and I want to use View Helpers from a library shared between all my projects. But I can't find how to add it directory to the helpers path. My herpers works fines when I put them in application's helpers path.   • Loop through all subclasses in an Android view?

    I’m working on a game for Android. To help implement it, my idea is to create a subclass of a view. I would then insert several instances of this class as children of the main view. Each instance would handle detecting when it was pressed (via OnTouchListener). The problem I’m having now is how do I loop through all these sub-views so I can read their statuses and process them? (I.e. when they all reach a certain state something should happen). Or is there a better way to have several objects on the screen that respond to touch and whose status I can check?

    I was wondering whether anybody out there is actively using Rhapsody TestConductor? Or has tried it for a while, but then decided to turn it down for a particular reason? If so, what are your experiences, in which field do you apply it, what are the shortcomings, or why did you turn it down? At the moment we're considering TestConductor as our tool of choice for testing as it's already integrated into Rhapsody, and would like to find out how applicable it is to our project (btw, we're using Rhapsody 7.4 in C). P.S: Recommendations on good books about Model Based Testing are also appreciated.

  • SQL Server view: how to add missing rows using interpolation

    Running into a problem. I have a table defined to hold the values of the daily treasury yield curve. It's a pretty simple table used for historical lookup of values. There are notibly some gaps in the table on year 4, 6, 8, 9, 11-19 and 21-29. The formula is pretty simple in that to calculate year 4 it's 0.5*Year3Value + 0.5*Year5Value. The problem is how can I write a VIEW that can return the missing years? I could probably do it in a stored procedure but the end result needs to be a view.

  • Design view not working in Web Projects in Visual Studio 2008

    When I try to edit an ASPX file with the Design View it freezes for a moment and does nothing, not even an error message. Looking through menus I've seen some strange things: If I go to Tools-Options-HTML Designer it gives me no options on the right panel, just a "Error loading property page" message. When I try to open a file using "Open With..." there should be something like "Web Form - Editor", but it is missing and I can only open them using Code View. I've tried repairing Visual Studio and reinstalling WebDesignerCore, but nothing works. Anyone had the same problem?

    Hi, I have a MS SQL view that I want to make available as a CSV download in my ASPNET Web Forms app. I am using Entity Framework for other views and tables in the project. What's the best way to enable this download? I could add a HyperLink whose click handler iterates over the view, writes its CSV form to the disk, and then serves that file. However, I'd prefer not to write to the disk if it can be avoided, and that involves iteration code that may be avoided with some other solution. Any ideas?

    Is it possible to create a full text index on a VIEW? If so, given two columns column1 and column2 on a VIEW, what is the SQL to get this done? The reason I'd like to do this is I have two very large tables, where I need to do a FULLTEXT search of a single column on each table and combine the results. The results need to be ordered as a single unit. Suggestions? EDIT: This was my attempt at creating a UNION and ordering by each statements scoring.     I wrote few custom view helpers but I have a little trouble using them.   • iPhone: Add background button to view when UITableView has no cells

    I have a UITableViewController, when there is no data to populate the UITableView, I want to add a button, which uses an image. So, rather than the user seeing a tableview with no records, they will see an image that says, "No records have been added, Tap to add one", then they click and we create a new one. I assumed I would just hide the UITableView, then create the button, but I never see the button.   • What's the best way to refactor this Rails controller?

    I'd like some advice on how to best refactor this controller. The controller builds a page of zones and modules. Page has_many zones, zone has_many modules. So zones are just a cluster of modules wrapped in a container. The problem I'm having is that some modules may have some specific queries that I don't want executed on every page, so I've had to add conditions. The conditions just test if the module is on the page, if it is the query is executed. One of the problems with this is if I add a hundred special module queries, the controller has to iterate through each one. I think I would like to see these module condition moved out of the controller as well as all the additional custom actions.   • mocking command object in grails controller results in hasErrors() return false no matter what! Plea

    I have a controller that uses a command object in a controller action. When mocking this command object in a grails' controller unit test, the hasErrors() method always returns false, even when I am purposefully violating its constraints. def save = { RegistrationForm form -> if(form.hasErrors()) { // code block never gets executed } else { // code block always gets executed } } In the test itself, I do this: mockCommandObject(RegistrationForm) def form = new RegistrationForm(emailAddress: "ken.bad@gmail", password: "secret", confirmPassword: "wrong") controller.save(form) I am purposefully giving it a bad email address, and I am making sure the password and the confirmPassword properties are different. In this case, hasErrors() should return true... but it doesn't.   • Perform Push Segue From a Tab View Controller

    I have a Tab Bar Controller App, the tab bar controller is forked into several "tab" view controller, in one of the view controller I want to redirect the user to an other view controller. I create a segue from that tab view controller to the destination view controller and given it an Identifer. And I call "performSegueWithIdentifier" in "viewDidAppear" to redirect the user. It works fine when the segue is "Modal", however since I want to retain the tabs, I want to call the segue through "Push". However, once I change the segue to "Push", it is not working anymore (it does not try to go to the destination view controller). The app did not crash on the simulator but just staying on the origin tab view controller.

    Hey, I've rolled my own custom view and can draw to the screen alright, but what I'd really like to do is set the measuredHeigh of the screen to, say, 1000px and let the user scroll on the Y axis, but I'm having problems doing this. Can anyone help?     Lets assume the following code within a controller: $this->view->addScriptPath('dir1/views/scripts'); $this->view->addScriptPath('dir2/views/scripts'); $this->render('index.phtml'); Where dir1/views/scripts contains 2 files: -index.phtml -table.phtml And dir2/views/scripts: -table.phtml Now, it will render the index.phtml in dir1 since dir 2 doesn't have an index.phtml. Index.phtml looks something like: <somehtml> <?= $this->render('table.phtml') ?> </somehtml> This is where the confusion starts for me. I would expect it to render the table.phtml in the last directory added to the script path stack, but it doesn't. Is there a simple solution/explanation to my problem?

  • General approach for posting business logic status messages to UI?

    Hello all. I have been struggling with this question for awhile now, and I haven't reached a conclusion. I'm not typically a UI programmer, so forgive the noobishness. I'm writing a typical application with a UI layer (WPF) and a business layer. I want to post status messages to the UI from the business layer (perhaps deep within the business layer), but I don't want the business layer to have any knowledge of the UI. Is there a generally accepted pattern for this? I was thinking to have a message queue of some sort to which the business layer posts status messages, and have the view model of the UI subscribe to that queue and intercept messages from the queue and route them to the UI. Is that a good approach? Is there somewhere else I should start? Thank you.

  • First iPhone App View Position Problem

    I am closely following the instructions given in the tutorial "Your First iPhone Application" on apple ADC. In the interface builder, I have set up a button positioned on the top according to the Apple Interface Guidelines. It runs without trouble if I simulate the interface in IB. However, if I run the built app, I get what is shown here. If you look at the view clearly, you will see that the entire view has been shifted up. And the magnitude of the shift is exactly the height of the status bar. And that's why the there is blank space at the bottom of the window, which was white instead of red. I have tried turning on the "Simulated Interface Elements", but that doesn't work either. The problem persists on real devices as well. However, using the "Simulate Interface" from IB looks fine. Any help is appreciated. Yun Tao
