    I create my own FrameworkElement and override VisualChildrenCount{get;} and GetVisualChild(int index) by returning my own DrawingVisual collection instance.I have override OnRender . I will add 20-50 DrawingVisuals in this FrameworkElement ,every DrawingVisual will have 2000 line segments.The logic value of these points between 0 to 60000.when I zoom into 1:1 the FrameworkElement 's Height will be 60000, the rending time will be 15 minutes!! How do I improve the rending performance ?

    Hello, I'm having the following problem. I'm installing SharePoint 2010 Beta so I need to activate the windows feature "Windows Communication Foundation Non-HTTP Activation". The problem is I cannot activate it, i get the message: "An error has occurred. Not all features were successfully changed" When i look at the log (C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log) I found this error: Process output: [l:186 [186]"SMConfigInstaller[Error]: Failed in calling 'StartService' for service 'NetTcpActivator'. Error code: 0x8007042c Anyone can give me a clue of what is happening here?

  • Converting a VMware player image from non-persistant to persistant

    I'm pondering setting up a virtual machine to generate app-v (since i got mdop from school) or thinapp application virtualisation packages. Ideally with either of these, i should work off a fresh system do the install, then copy out the packages produced. I'd like to not have to reinstall windows per package to get a fresh, unmodified stock copy of windows. I'm aware that its possible to make a hard disk image persistant in vmware player (one of my lecturers did it, but he's in another country). I'm wondering how would i convert a persistant image to a non persistant one? I'm currently running vmware player 4, with windows 7 guest and host.

  • IIS 6.0 subdomains with host headers and non existent subdomains

    Hey Everyone - We have a wildcard A-Record pointing to our IP and have a number of sites running on IIS 6 with host headers and have a a wildcard SSL certificate for the domain so that each site can run under SSL. For example: https://A.foo.com https:/B.foo.com https:/C.foo.com Everything is working well but I noticed that when we type a non existent subdomain, say D.foo.com, it redirects to A.foo.com. Any idea why that is or how I can change that? I think we may have set up the A.foo.com site before we applied the wildcard A-record with our domain provider and before we had set up the SSL cert. Thanks.

    I'm new to MVC, so please bear with me. :-) I've got a strongly typed "Story" View. This View (story) can have Comments. I've created two Views (not partials) for my Comments controller "ListStoryComments" and "CreateStoryComment", which do what their names imply. These Views are included in the Story View using RenderAction, e.g.: <!-- List comments --> <h2>All Comments</h2> <% Html.RenderAction("ListStoryComments", "Comments", new { id = Model.Story.Id }); %> <!-- Create new comment --> <% Html.RenderAction("CreateStoryComment", "Comments", new { id = Model.Story.Id }); %> (I pass in the Story id in order to list related comments). All works as I hoped, except, when I post a new comment using the form, it returns the current (parent) View, but the Comments form field is still showing the last content I typed in and the ListStoryComments View isn’t updated to show the new story. Basically, the page is being loaded from cache, as if I had pressed the browser’s back button. If I press f5 it will try to repost the form. If I reload the page manually (reenter the URL in the browser's address bar), and then press f5, I will see my new content and the empty form field, which is my desired result.     Hello: I am having some trouble with a very basic string issue in Python (that I can't figure out). Basically, I am trying to do the following: '# read file into a string myString = file.read() '# Attempt to remove non breaking spaces myString = myString.replace("\u00A0"," ") '# however, when I print my string to output to console, I get: Foo **<C2><A0>** Bar I thought that the "\u00A0" was the escape code for unicode non breaking spaces, but apparently I am not doing this properly. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

  • Problems with vim/locale as non-root user on Solaris

    I do some work on a Solaris 10 machine, and my .vimrc is set up to show unicode characters for tabs and line endings: set listchars=tab:?\ ,eol:¬ This works out of the box on my OS X machine. On Linux as well as Solaris I get the following error when I start vim: Error detected while processing /home/lhanson/.vimrc: line 17: E474: Invalid argument: listchars=tab:?~V?\ ,eol:¬ I solved this on my Linux box by setting LANG=en_US.utf8 ('locale -a' shows this as being an option). On Solaris, however, 'locale -a' shows the following: C POSIX iso_8859_1 Setting LANG to C or POSIX yields the same error, and even though iso_8859_1 probably wouldn't work it doesn't successfully change the locale anyway. As a non-root user, is there any way I can have my unicode characters show up?

  • Issue with www to non www redirect

    Hello, I am on slicehost and I followed the articles that they gave for DNS redirection and the www to non www url redirection does work. However, what if I want a www.domain.com to be the default domain. Would I put www.domain.com. as my DNS record name or would I keep domain.com. as my DNS record and then do something else. Basically, what happens is if someone goes to the url www.domain.com/directory/something.html they will be redirected to domain.com and not domain.com/directory/something.html I would like the second thing to happen, not just go to domain.com and call it a day. I am running nginx and am confounded on how to solve this issue. I'm not sure whether its an nginx issue or a dns issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Cannot set "Language for Non-Unicode Programs" in Regional and Language Settings

    I'm trying to set the Language for Non-Unicode Programs from English to Japanese (I'm using Windows XP SP 3), but it won't let me. It looks like I've got the East Asian Language packs installed, but when I select "Japanese" from the drop-down box and hit "Apply" I get an error that says "Setup was unable to install the chosen locale. Please contact your system administrator". I'm already logged in as the administrator, and I've restarted several times but it still won't let me. Can anyone give me an idea as to how to solve this problem? Reinstalling Windows is absolutely out of the question.

    On my laptop (el-cheapo but pretty good) I have all my 3 USB ports occupied by devices in use (external mouse, external keyboard, 3G internet/flash drive/external hard drive/etc). I want a cooling pad for my hard-worked laptop but all seem to be powered by USB... This laptop is mainly stationary. Either is available a solution to power the USB-powered cooling pad other than connecting it to the laptop... ... either is there a non-USB powered laptop cooling pad?

  • Algorithm to Render a Horizontal Binary-ish Tree in Text/ASCII form

    It's a pretty normal binary tree, except for the fact that one of the nodes may be empty. I'd like to find a way to output it in a horizontal way (that is, the root node is on the left and expands to the right). I've had some experience expanding trees vertically (root node at the top, expanding downwards), but I'm not sure where to start, in this case. Preferably, it would follow these couple of rules: If a node has only one child, it can be skipped as redundant (an "end node", with no children, is always displayed) All nodes of the same depth must be aligned vertically; all nodes must be to the right of all less-deep nodes and to the left of all deeper nodes. Nodes have a string representation which includes their depth. Each "end node" has its own unique line; that is, the number of lines is the number of end nodes in the tree, and when an end node is on a line, there may be nothing else on that line after that end node. As a consequence of the last rule, the root node should be in either the top left or the bottom left corner; top left is preferred. For example, this is a valid tree, with six end nodes (node is represented by a name, and its depth): [a0]------------[b3]------[c5]------[d8] \ \ \----------[e9] \ \----[f5] \--[g1]--------[h4]------[i6] \ \--------------------[j10] \-[k3] Which represents the horizontal, explicit binary tree: 0 a / \ 1 g * / \ \ 2 * * * / \ \ 3 k * b / / \ 4 h * * / \ \ \ 5 * * f c / \ / \ 6 * i * * / / \ 7 * * * / / \ 8 * * d / / 9 * e / 10 j (branches folded for compactness; * representing redundant, one-child nodes; note that *'s are actual nodes, storing one child each, just with names omitted here for presentation sake) (also, to clarify, I'd like to generate the first, horizontal tree; not this vertical tree) I say language-agnostic because I'm just looking for an algorithm; I say ruby because I'm eventually going to have to implement it in ruby anyway.   • Tree View Control problem with render Control function

    I am using TreeView Control in Asp.net. I have placed this control inside a panel. The tree control is completely binded (we don’t want populate on demand) with an Xmldatasource during a callback and then I call Panel.renderControl to return the response (HTML) to the client side callback handler. Problem: 1. The tree expand/collapse (on click of plus sign) is causing postback whereas when I normally bind a tree with xml during postback and without using renderControl of container control, the expand/collapse (on click of plus sign) is being handled at client side.

  • Obey the MediaBox/CropBox in PDF when using ghostscript to render a PDF to a png

    I've been using ghostscript to convert my single figure plots rendered in PDF to png: gswin32c -sDEVICE=png16m -r300x300 -sOutputFile=junk.png -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE Figure_001-a.pdf This works in the sense I get a png out and it contians the plot. But it contains a huge amount of white space as well (an example source image: http://cdsweb.cern.ch/record/1258681/files/Figure_001-a.pdf). If you view it in Acrobat you'll note there is no white space around the plot. If you use the above command line you'll find the plot is only about 1/3 of the space. When doing the same thing with an eps file I run into the same problem. However, there is the command-line parameter -dEPSCrop that one can pass to get the PS rendering engine to pay attention to the BoundingBox. I need the similar argument for rendering PDF's. I was not able to find it in docs (nor even the EPSCrop, actually).

  • Run Windows batch file on schedule as non-Administrator user

    I'm running Windows XP x64 SP2. I have a Windows batch file that with some Robocopy commands that I want to run on schedule. I created a scheduled task for it, running as a dedicated user (not the user I'm logged on as), but it simply did not run. I could see successful logon events in the security log, so it got that far, but the commands in the batch file definitely weren't getting executed. After reading through all of http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservermanager/thread/d47d116e-10b9-44f0-9a30-7406c86c2fbe/ I tried making the target user account an Administrator and that fixed it - the batch file ran just fine. Nothing else seemed to work. The thing is, I want it to run under a low-privileged account. Does anyone know how can I get a batch file to run on schedule as a non-Administrator?

  • EC2-like virtualisation platform with non-RDP access

    I'm looking into setting up a few small VMs. The trouble is the software I intend to install on them (Cisco VPN Client) blocks out networking (other than to the target VPN destination...) with no workaround. This means that Remote Desktop or other methods of connecting to VMs that go via the Internet (e.g. GoToMyPC, LogMeIn) are a non-starter. What I'm really looking for is an EC2-like platform but which gives direct access to the VM through (for example) Hyper-V Manager. Sadly the only way they all seem to offer to remote control the VMs is direct access via Remote Desktop, whereas I need to be one layer above that (if that makes sense). A viable alternative would be to run virtualisation software within a Windows EC2 instance; obviously hardware virtualisation is impossible but I wonder if there are any software virtualisation platforms that could be run and that would work. Does anyone know if something like this exists/is possible? Thanks! C
