  • Unable to render php files in browser

    Hello, I am very new to php, and I am trying to develop a facebook application using php. I am using Joyent as my hosting platform. Currently, I am trying to do some simple scripts in php and then build on them. However I am unable to see any php files being rendered properly in my application. For eg: I have a simple script called phpinfo.php: If I execute this on terminal like php phpinfo.php , I can see all the configurations. However if I try to access the same file as http://xxxxxx.facebook.joyent.us/phpinfo.php, I get : Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Even if I rename this file to index.php its still the same. However I am able to access other html files [index.html] on the same location .   • Have both domain and non-domain users use NetApp CIFS storage

    My specific use case is that I have a NetApp CIFS storage that's in the domain, say, intranet. But I also have one hyper-v host that's not in the domain. I can't allow it into the domain, but I need to create guests whose VHD is on the storage. How can I achieve this? When I simply connect to a CIFS share and create a VHD there, it works, but when I try to add that VHD to the virtual machine, I get a "Failed to set folder permissions" error - probably due to folder ownership being in the domain admin. Is there a way around this? So both domain and non-domain users use the same directory?

    Is there a way to prevent non-displayed elements from appearing in the ASPX Design View editor? By "non-displayed elements", I mean the background elements (Managers, DataSources, Validators, etc) that show up as grey boxes containing the type and id. If I have several of those at the top of the page, I can't see much of the preview of my page.

    I have been trying to set a 301 redirect from a non www to a www domain since yesterday but it only cause problems on my site. I first tried it from the control panel of the website, then by modifying the .htaccess file with the following: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on rewritecond %{http_host} ^mydomain.com [nc] rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [r=301,nc] My site is based on wordpress, the first problem that occurred was that I could not access my backend anymore… when I was trying to log in the page would just reload itself and then there was an endless loop and the whole site was unaccessible. After removing these few lines, everything was fine.

    Hi everybody. I'm using NHibernate with Lambda Extensions. I'd like to know how to nest a Max function with a Substring. The following statement retrieves Max("invoice_id") var ret = session .CreateCriteria<Invoice>() .SetProjection(Projections.Max("invoice_id")) .UniqueResult(); but in my case the field invoice_id is made in this way: 123452010 where 12345 is the invoice number, and 2010 is the current year. So I need to calculate the Max function only over the first 5 digits. How can I do it?

  • non-GUI connection to local Hyper-V VM without network

    I have a virtual machine on Hyper-V manager (Windows 2008 R2) without a network configured on the VM. From a powershell script running on the host Windows server, I would like to query into the OS of that local VM for certain information (i.e. if a given process has finished completion). I am using codeplex's pshyperv module (https://pshyperv.codeplex.com/) to interact with Hyper-V manager, but the only cmdlet to connect to the vm is 'New-VMConnectSession', which launches a 'vmconnect.exe' connection to the VM. Since vmconnect.exe is essentially RDP, this is not very script-friendly. From within a host's powershell script, is there any way to send a command to a local virtual machine's OS and receive output, if no network is configured on the VM? (I believe Vmware's 'vmrun' utility has this capability) Another way to ask this question: Does Hyper-V have a non-GUI-based form of vmconnect.exe? (PS. Not sure if this was more stackoverflow or serverfault)

    Given a text file with space separated string and a tab separated integer, I'd ;like to get rid of all words that have non-alpha characters but keep words consisting of alpha only characters and the tab plus the integer afterwards. My attempts like the ones below didin't yield any good. What I was trying to express is something like: "replace anything within word boundaries that starts and ends with 0 or more whatever and there is at least one :digits: or :punct: in between". sed 's/\b.[:digits::punct:]+.\b//g' sed 's/\b.[^:alpha:]+.\b//g' What am I missing?   • MKAnnotations are being made successfully, however they sometimes fail to render on MKMapView

    I'm working on an iPhone app using the 3.1.3 SDK, my app finds the users current location, displays it on a MKMapView and then finds nearby locations and renders them as MKAnnotations. My code is working, however sometimes the nearby annotations do not appear on the map. They are still being made as I see the correct data in the console (from NSLog which runs just after the annotations are made). When it fails is completely random, it could be the 5th time I've hit "Build and Run" for the day, or the 500th it doesn't appear to have any pattern and doesn't throw any type of error, it just doesn't add the annotations to the MapView.     I need to display 480 x 320 background image in OpenGL ES. The thing is I experienced a bit of a slow down in iPhone when I use 512 x 512 texture size. So I am finding an optimum case for rendering iPhone resolution size background in OpenGL ES. How should I slice the background in this case to obtain the best possible performance? My main concern is speed. Should I go for 256 x 256 or other texture sizes here?

    Hi All, I have a grid on a page along with a tooltip for each cell created dynamically on dlDrivers_ItemDataBound event through javacsript. I have been using ajax on my page. When i visit the page for the first time, all the tooltips are working fine but when i perform some actions on the page and grid ispostback through ajax, but the javascript here is not rendered and the tooltip does not appear.     I'm trying to localize a Windows 8 Metro style app as described in a guide on MSDN. This worked very well so far, but now I'm trying to localize a string containing a non-breaking space which appears in a XAML file (originally as hexadecimal xml-escaped string: &#x00a0). Just putting the above string into the Resources.resw file does not work, it appears just as &#x00a0. What do I have to do to get a non-breaking space in my localizations?

  • Allowing non-admins to run programs as admins on Windows 7

    On *nix, admins can use the setuid flag to allow non-admins to run certain programs that would otherwise require admin privileges. Is there any way to do something similar in Windows 7? This question has been asked here before for Windows XP, and the answers were generally unsatisfying. I'm wondering if Windows 7 provides a better way. One idea I can think of would be to use Microsoft's Subsystem for UNIX Applications, but I'd rather not install that on every user's system if I can avoid it. Another idea I can think of (which would work on XP too, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere) would be to create a RunAsAdmin application that runs as a service, that takes a whitelist of "safe" apps and can be asked (from a command line, batch file or script) to run any program on the list as LocalSystem or whatever account the service uses. Is this possible? Are there any solutions that aren't as clunky as those? Or, has anyone implemented either of the above techniques successfully?

  • Recommendation for a non-standard SSL port

    Hey guys, On our server I have a single IP, and need to host 2 different SSL sites. Sites have different owners so have different SSL certificates, and can't share the same certificate with SAN. So as a last resort I have modified the web application to give the ability to use a specified port for secure pages. For its simple look I used port 200. However I'm worried about some visitors may be unable to see the site because of their firewalls / proxies blocking the port for ssl connections. I heard some people were unable to see the website, a home user and someone from an enterprise company, don't know if this was the reason. So, any recommendations for a non-standard SSL port number (443 is used by the other site) which may work for visitors better than port 200 ? Like 8080 or 8443 perhaps? Thanks!

    I'm close to deploying a Django project to production. I'm looking over some infrastructure decisions. Something that came up was serving static files with a different server such as lighttpd. However, we're starting off with a single dedicated server so our only option would be to use a non-standard port for the static file webserver. Is there precedence for this? I.e. Does anyone "big" do this? Any particular port I should use or shy away from using? Can anyone thing of some downsides of going this route?

    I have a requirement to build an extensible wizard in a portlet. This wizard will list components that are installed and forward the user to a sub-wizard that is component specific. The requirement is that the components are to be developed by other people and dynamically plugged into this wizard (Jetspeed reboot is okay). I would like to be able to define the components as portlets themselves who's content is rendered into the primary portlet. Has anybody ever done something like this?

    Hey I've almost figured it out on my own but there's something I'm missing. I want to set a couple of directories and files to require SSL and everything else that's not related to those files and dirs to point back to http. So far I have this: RewriteEngine on RewriteBase / # Force ssl for login & admin RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !on RewriteRule ^/?(admin(.*)|login\.php)$ https://%{SERVER_NAME}/$1 [R,NC,L] # Force non-ssl for others RewriteCond %{HTTPS} on RewriteRule ^/?(admin(.*)|login\.php)$ http://%{SERVER_NAME}/$1 [R,NC,L] I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I just can't figure it out.... The first condition works perfect - whenever I access login.php or /admin/ it points to https. But the second one doesn't... Where have I mistaken ? Thanks in advance!
