    Hi all, We are creating a project with lots of different mail templates in it. There are different messages for different purposes and we are trying to make the coding easy and understandable for the future. By the way we have different transport classes like e-mail, sms, twitter vs... Now we are doing this but I dont know if there is a better solution. We have a class called H2B_Message_Container_Mail_About_Blablabla it has 4 methods; interface H2B_Message_Mail_Interface { public function setName($name); public function setValue($key, $value); public function getMailBody(); public function getMailSubject(); } and in the mail body there are various variables as expected. before we send the mail, we get the variable values from the database with JSON format and decode it. Then we send it like; $mail = new H2B_Message_Mail(); $mail->setTemplate($newTemplate); $mail->send(); The question is; is there a better way to do this ?

    I was wondering how you can give your website customers the confidence that you are not tinkering with the database values. I am planning on running a website which falls in the realm of an online game. There is some kind of credit system involved that people have to pay for. Now I was wondering how sites like this ensure there customers that there is no foul play in the database itself. As I am the database admin i can pretty much change all the values from within without anyone knowing i did. Hence letting someone win that does not rightfully is the winner. Is it maybe an option to decrypt en encrypt the credits people have so i can't change them. Or is there maybe a company i can hire that checks my company for foul play.

    I'm looking for an Java open-source library which is able to extract address information from a (German) email (signature). The library should find name street city, city code/postal code email tel/fax address-parser.com is an commercial product, but a free (albeit simple) library would be great. stackoverflow.com/questions/16413/parse-usable-street-address-city-state-zip-from-a-string is asking for something similar, but my problem is broader because the address information is hidden in a complete email. And there isn't a solution either... Any ideas?

    Good morning everyone at Stackoverflow, I am trying to find a VBA script that finds and replaces a certain text in incoming e-mails. So far i've been unable to find such a script that is working. I found several scripts to find and replace stuff in the e-mail but these don't work as a rule on incoming e-mails, they only work on outgoing / creating e-mails. Does anyone have such a script that they can share with me? I would like to find & replace a certain text on every incoming e-mail. I would really apreciate it!   • How to make Facebook Authentication from Silverlight secure?

    I have the following scenario I want to complete: Website running some HTTP(S) services that returns data for a user. Same website is additionally hosting a Silverlight 4 app which calls these services. The Silverlight app is integrating with Facebook using the Facebook Developer Toolkit (http://facebooktoolkit.codeplex.com/). I have not fully decided whether I want Facebook-integration to be a "opt-in" option such as Spotify, or if I want to "lock" down my service with Facebook-only authentication. That's another discussion. How do I protect my API Key and Secret that I receive from Facebook in a Silverlight app? To me it's obvious that this is impossible as the code is running on the client, but is there a way I can make it harder or should I just live with the fact that third parties could potentially "act" as my own app? Using the Facebook Developer Toolkit, there is a following C# method in Silverlight that is executed from the JavaScript when the user has fully authenticated with Facebook using the Facebook Connect APIs. [ScriptableMember] public void LoggedIn(string sessionKey, string secret, int expires, long userId) { this.SessionKey = sessionKey; this.UserId = userId; Obvious the problem here is the fact that JavaScript is injection the userId, which is nothing but a simple number. This means anyone could potentially inject a different userId in JavaScript and have my app think it's someone else. This means someone could hijack the data within the services running on my website. The alternative that comes to mind is authenticating the users on my website, this way I'm never exposing any secrets and I can return an auth-cookie to the users after the initial authentication. Though this scenario doesn't work very well in an out-of-browser scenario where the user is running the Silverlight app locally and not from my website.

    How do you setup a single Apache2 config to host multiple HTTPS sites each on their own IP address? There will also be multiple HTTP sites on just a single IP address. I do not want to use Server Name Indication (SNI) as described here, and I'm only concerned with the important top-level Apache directives. That is, I just need to know the skeleton of how my config should look.     I have a directory website and I want to send focused emails, a small amount, less than 50 a month, to some of the businesses on my directory that get many visitors. The intention is to let them now many people are viewing there page and encourage them to update it and post information on it. How can I send this small number of emails without being targeted as spam? Also, should I send it from an email with the websites domain or will it better to send from a personal email? that way at least of email is tagged as spam sometimes it won't hurt the website's reputation, is this true?

Currently remote sessions can use either the http or https address, but we want to turn off http access for external sessions while leaving it enabled for internal users.     Using PHP, I have a query that goes through my DB looking for pending tasks with reminder triggers at certain times of the day. I have a cronjob that runs every 10 mins and checks the DB for any rows that has "remind_me" field set to go off within the next 10 mins. If it does find something, what's the best way to queue an email with the task information? I guess I'll need some sort of message queue system, but how does the email part work? Will I need another cronjob that runs every minute to check the queue system?

  • CakeDC Users Plugin - I Can't Send Emails

    I apologise for the rambling nature of this question, please bear with me and I'll provide all the extra info needed for you to stop me going mad from failing at something that looks inherently very straightforward... I've just installed CakePHP 2.2, and the first thing I've done is add the cakeDC Users plugin. It's all working, apart from sending an email verification when a user registers. I've tried so many combinations of different things in email.php, that I have now utterly got my knickers in a twist. Whatever I do, when the verification email should be sent, all I get is: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.     I'm working on a server application in Java. I've successfully got past the handshake portion of the communication process, but how do I go about decrypting my input stream? I did some research online and it seems like I might need to use a Cipher, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

    Sometimes, I came across certain web development framework which doesn't provide authentication feature as in Authenication ASP.NET I was wondering what is the security measure needs to be considered, when implementing "Remember Me" login feature, by hand coding? Here are the things I usually did. 1) Store the user name in cookie. The user name are not encrypted. 2) Store a secret key in cookie. The secret key is generated using one way function based on user name. The server will verify secret key against user name, to ensure this user name is not being changed. 3) Use HttpOnly in cookie. http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2008/08/protecting-your-cookies-httponly.html Any things else I could miss out, which could possible lead a security hole.

  • Sending BCC emails using a SMTP server?

    I've had this noted down on some of my code for a while: /** * Add a BCC. * * Note that according to the conventions of the SMTP protocol all * addresses, including BCC addresses, are included in every email as it * is sent over the Internet. The BCC addresses are stripped off blind * copy email only at the destination email server. * * @param string $email * @param string $name * @return object Email */ I don't remember where I got it from but that shouldn't be relevant to this question. Basically, whenever I try to send an email with BCCs via SMTP the BCC addresses are not hidden - I've read the whole RFC for the SMTP protocol (a couple years ago) and I don't think I'm missing anything. The strange thing is, if I send an email with BCCs using the built-in mail() function everything works just right and I've no idea why - I would like to roll my own email sender but I fail to understand this. Can someone please shed some light into this dark subject?
