  It looks like a popular question but it's just the opposite. When I visit a site in Firefox 15 I have two different behaviours when: Pressing enter in the address bar Pressing F5 or the refresh button If I look in the network console I can see that F5 does a lot more requests, most of them about cached resources and with a 304-Not Modified answer. Is there's any shortcut to make a quick refresh? Just like pressing enter on the address bar.

• [C++] A minimalistic smart array (container) class template

  I've written a (array) container class template (lets call it smart array) for using it in the BREW platform (which doesn't allow many C++ constructs like STD library, exceptions, etc. It has a very minimal C++ runtime support); while writing this my friend said that something like this already exists in Boost called MultiArray, I tried it but the ARM compiler (RVCT) cries with 100s of errors. I've not seen Boost.MultiArray's source, I've just started learning template only lately; template meta programming interests me a lot, although am not sure if this is strictly one, which can be categorised thus. So I want all my fellow C++ aficionados to review it ~ point out flaws, potential bugs, suggestions, optimisations, etc.; somthing like "you've not written your own Big Three which might lead to...". As i mentioned in my previous problem my computer freezes while watching online videos showing 100% cpu usage. I have tried the suggestions given in that query and I have formated my whole computer and installed windows and other softwares (with latest updates) but the problem still presisting. If i watch a video online approximately after one hour my system shows very high cpu usage and when i close my browser cpu usage comes to normal(i tried to watch Cybergeddon but my computer is freezing from start,and also other youtube videos). Can you tell me whether its an hardware problem? if yes can you give any possible explanation( eg:motherboard problem,over heating etc) because i want to tell those reasons to my computer mechanic.

When looking at drives they just list their size, their form factor (key chain hook, slider, etc.) and the fact that they are all Hi-Speed USB 2.0.   I've noticed this with me and my partners computers, take a look at this: http://www.uploadify.com/demo/ Those buttons are flash. If you scroll (scroll to the bottom then back up, using your mouse scroll) then hover over a button, it is a normal pointer, not a hand. If you click on the button, then it turns into a hand, then you can click on it to trigger the browse files window. Is there any way to fix this? Is this a Firefox bug (doesn't happen in Chrome or IE8)?

I've disabled Chrome's internal pepper flash: http://imgur.com/8hlqvaX I've also tried disabling all extensions, and even tried it in incognito mode. Facebook works just fine in Firefox, but it's totally unusable in Chrome. The problem goes away eventually, but it returns every now and then and it's super annoying. Chrome version: 30.0.1599.101 (Official Build 227552) m How can I fix this?

• Repair snapped USB flash drive

  I have a USB Flash Drive that has had the USB connector snapped away from the circuit board. In the past I have had great sucess with soldering the connector back to the circuit board with 4 solid core wires. Unfortunatly this particular device shows up as "Unknown Device" in device manager and displays 0ma power usage. Giving a closer look at the circuit board it appears that the Data + connector has come away from the PCB. Which would explain why it is not recognised. Is there any practicable way of lifting the data from the device? larger version

• Why are my flash drives getting formatted?

  I've had two cheapie flash drive from Microcenter, and they booth out-of-the-blue became unformatted. When you insert then in the USB drive, windows says "The drive is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" And then it can't actually format it. Nothing happened to them physically. For one, it 'died' during a reset, and the other, it was normal and then it was dead once when I inserted it, IIRC. What's the deal? Are these just cheap, crappy drives, or what?

• How long to erase flash memory (RAID controller)?

  I made a bit of a boo boo last night in upgrading the BIOS in a Silicon Image Sil3132 eSATA adapter. It's a RAID controller in a server. I accidently flashed it with the wrong BIOS ;-) Not the end of the world as this card only cost £15 but I'm trying to flash it with the correct BIOS as it won't obviously work anymore. Silicon Image supply a DOS program for flashing and I thought I'd use the Erase function to get rid of the old BIOS. Any idea how long this should take? It's been sat at the "Erasing memory" prompt for about 15 minutes. Thanks, Rob.

• IE 8 doesn't appear to clear cache on demand. Is anyone else seeing this?

  I have a client that uploads updated pdf files to her Concrete5 CMS, through the file manager, replacing the old file with the same name. She then does a cms "clear cache" and exits as she should. Then, in testing, she finds that the old file still comes up when clicking on the link. On further review, the cms file manager version tracking shows that the file has been updated, and, for me, the new file comes up, as it should, when clicking the link. My client hase also refreshed her browser cache and still, she only gets the old file when clicking on the link. She says that, while she can't seem to force an immediate cache update, overnight it appears to update. My client is also part of a large company-wide lan and intranet. Is it possible that there is a cache function placed outside of her local browser and cms cache that is not updating?

• Interaction .asp with .swf flash - good on IIS6, bad on IIS7

  Hi, all! I can't make my app work after migration from IIS6 to IIS7. Problem is described below. My app: in my app I use 'flash.swf'. This .swf appeals to .asp, which contains only: Response.write "<myNode>test_is_ok</myNode>" .swf must get it and show "test_is_ok". And it is really ok on IIS6 2003, but on IIS7 2008R2 .swf shows me "undefined". Situation: Separate request from IE to .asp gets "test_is_ok" on both computers. If .swf from one computer appeals to .asp on another - nothing works. If I delete .asp, then .swf also shows "undefined", so I think it don't really appeals to .asp on IIS7. Suggest me, please, something, what can help.

• USB Flash drive corrupt files - Help needed

  I have a 16gb usb flash drive with 8gb worth of data that I can't afford to lose. When I inserted it into my pc, inside the folder that I was storing the data I saw unintelligible characters and nothing in there would open. I ran, windows scandisk and the files (unfortunately) disappeared. I can see that the drive's space still appears to be taken up with data, about 8gb. What should I do to recover it? Is it possible? • Flash drive doesn't mount on mac

  I've got two different USB flash drives which are formatted MS-DOS(FAT-16). When I plug each into my MacBook Pro (running MacOS 10.6 - Snow Leopard), they don't mount. I can see them using Disk Utility. When I run an Ubuntu VM inside of VMWare Fusion, Ubuntu has no trouble mounting these either. I've tested with the drives plugged directly into the machine and plugged into a usb hub -- both give the same results. Is there a setting I've inadvertently set which disables automounting? Is there an issue with mounting FAT-16 drives?

  2x Xeon E5620 . 16 Cores altogether. /proc/cpuinfo shows cache is only @ 4096kb According to intel this should have 12MB of "smart cache". • Completely formatting a USB flash drive

  I have a Verbatim Store 'n' Go drive which by default comes with software in a partition which password protects the drive. I want to erase this partition, as it only works on Windows (I'm having to look at it now through a virtual machine on my Mac). I've tried using KillDisk to totally wipe the whole thing, but it doesn't seem to work, and this password-protecting partition always remains intact. Is there any program which will completely wipe a flash drive, no questions asked? Or is there a way to do it through the Verbatim software? I have the password and everything, I just can't find a way to fully format it. Cheers.

• flash h264 mp4 playback pixelation

  Working with converting/playing h264 mp4 videos in flash. I'm converting the video from various source file formats (mostly .mov & .mp4), to h264 mp4 using ffmpeg server side. All seems to be working just fine, except I'm getting a few reports of pixelation of the video when being viewed on windows machines. I've testing just about every browser I can think of on (XP/Vista/7) and could not reproduce. Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/IK5RV.jpg (sorry for the resolution, was in an email from the client, as I'm unable to reproduce.) Anyone else ever run into this issue? At this point it could be anything in my mind. It seems like an odd bug, and probably a codec issue, or somehow a 32/64-bit issue?

• Choosing hardware for Flash Media Server

  Having read the answers in this discussion, I still would like to come up with the same question: What should I buy to run Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5? I just have slightly different boundary conditions. We plan to serve video to ca. 1,000 users simultaneously. It will be live stream, so the server will receive the stream in HD (1280x720), cache it, reformat to various other resolutions and send it to users. OS of choice is Linux, but if you say it should MS-DOS, so it will be... What would be a decent server for this task?

• Flash Player is creating thousands of .tmp files

  We have seen a number of machines in our environment (XP Pro SP3) that have been running out of disk space because of .TMP files in the windows\temp folder. One machine had 6GB of .TMP files on it starting from around August 2010. The files are all 305kb in size and they seem to get created every 10 minutes. The files appear to be either .EXEs or .DLLs when opened in a hex editor. The words "this program can not be run in DOS mode" are at the beginning of the file and the words "Adobe Flash Player" are scattered all over the end of the file (probably the string table). While it's easy enough to clean them up, I'd like to find root cause for the issue. Has anybody else seen this?

• Mobile Safari 5mb HTML5 application cache limit?

  It's becoming evident in my testing that there's a 5mb size limit on Mobile Safari's implementation of HTML5's application cache. Does anyone know how to circumvent or raise this? Is there some unexposed meta tag that I should know about? I have to cache some video content for an offline app and 5mb is not going to be enough.

• PostSharp Cache Sample NOT working outside of the sample solution
