  • Keeping a window always on top -- including menus (win32)

    I would like to have a layered window that is always-on-top, which I can accomplish, but there are certain screen elements that still get drawn over it, such as menus (including the start menu). Is there any way to make a window or child window of my application have a high enough top-ness property that it will draw over another application's menus? Or is there something built in to windows that ensures that menus in the currently active application are always drawn on top? In fact, I don't really understand all that well how menus work. So it might not even make any sense for me to try to make my window "act like a menu" in hopes of making it cover more things.

  • Making application menus on top of gnome shell

    Is there a way to put gnome shell components (panel, message tray) to be appear below the popup menu's of other applications such as Java and Gtk Apps. The problem is when there are gtk apps which has tray icons the popup menu tends to appear below the message tray, this was bit ok now in 3.6 because the message tray hides soon as the icon is clicked. But the top bar is still a problem for large menus. When running eclipse with lot of options in the context menu the top most items including the scroll button are under top bar. Is there any thing i can change in the main.js or panel.js to get things below the popup menus ?

  • No apparent reason for high load average

    We have several web servers running on Amazon (ec2) c1.xlarge, over Amazon AMI. The servers are duplicates of each other, running the exact same hardware and software. Each server spec is: 7 GB of memory 20 EC2 Compute Units (8 virtual cores with 2.5 EC2 Compute Units each) 1690 GB of instance storage 64-bit platform I/O Performance: High API name: c1.xlarge A couple of weeks ago we have run a yum upgrade on one of the servers. Starting on this upgrade the upgraded server started showing a high load average. Needless to say, we did not update the other servers and we can not do so until we understand the reason for this behavior. The strange thing is that when we compare the servers using top or iostat, we can not find the reason for the high load. Note that we have moved traffic from the "problematic" server to the others, which have made the "problematic" server less crowded in terms of requests, and still his load is higher. Do you have any idea what could it be, or where else can we check? Many thanks for the help! Unfortunately, when a link is clicked, the lightbox that is loaded starts at the same scroll position as the previous one. I tried using self.scrollTo(0,0) $.scrollTo(0) $('#top').scrollTo(); and a few others methods to push it back to the top, but none have seemed to work. Any help on this?

    I have a DataGridView, without visible row or column headers, and bound to a BindingList. No matter what I try the top left cell (Rows[0].Cells[0]) is always empty. The cell's Visible property is true, but it never displays its contents. If I make some rows and columns invisible, it's still the top left of the visible cells that isn't displayed.
