  • In Zabbix how to separate data of the same type but from different sources?

    I have a machine that receives data from multiple sources. This machine forwards the data to the Zabbix Trapper. I want to be able to view this data separately. One way of doing that is to send data from each source with a different fake hostname. But this is not ideal. I can receive this data in more than one host.   • How can I compare Excel serial dates WITHOUT converting to mm/dd/yy type dates?

    I have a table that contains a number of values representing Excel serial dates. After a number of unsuccessful attempts to compare fields, my current approach is to do comparisons between serial dates instead of calendar dates. I am trying to summarize the data--by DAY--with formulae. CONSIDER: 41021 some data 41021.625 some data 41021.63542 some data 41022 some data 41022.26042 some data 41022.91667 some data 41023 some data 41023.375 some data DESIRED RESULT: 41021 sum of 41021, 41021.625 and 41021.63542 data 41022 sum of 41022, 41022.26042 and 41022.91667 data 41023 sum of 41023 and 41023.375 data In essence, for all instances of SerialDate.SerialTime, SUM data values associated with SerialDate.* regardless of the *.SerialTime for that date. While I can see how to do this by creating additional dates column formatted as =TEXT(<DateField>,"mm/dd/yyyy") I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to handle this 'conversion' in the formula, e.g.SUMIF((TEXT(<dateRange>,"yy/mm/dd"),=(TEXT(<dateField,"yy/mm/dd")),<dataRange> Make sense?   • Is a larger hard drive with the same cache, rpm, and bus type faster?

    I recently heard that, all else being equal, larger hard are faster than smaller. It has to do with more bits passing under the read head as the drive spins - since a large drive packs the bits more tightly, the same amount of spin/time presents more data to the read head. I had not heard this before, and was inclined to believe the the read heads expected bits at a specific rate and would instead stagger data, so that the two drives would be the same speed. I now find myself looking at purchasing one of two computer models for the school where I work. One model has an 80GB drive, the other a 400GB (for ~$13 more). The size of the drive is immaterial, since users will keep their files on a file server where they can be backed up. But if the 400GB drive will really deliver a performance boost to the hard drive, the extra money is probably worth it. Thoughts?

  • How do I get Chrome to not try to open in Windows 8 mode?

    It's not that I'm trying to make it more like 7. That's not the problem. My problem is that whenever I click the Google Chrome icon on my taskbar or even the desktop, Windows brings up this screen-spanning message box saying that my resolution is too low to launch run Google Chrome, and to set my computer to a higher resolution. (I can't.) It then continues to open Chrome correctly after I hit close. This also happens when I click a link in an external program like skype or psi.

    On Windows Vista SP2 - I'm attempting to upgrade to Windows 7. After I put in the Windows 7 DVD in the drive, I receive the Windows 7 upgrade splash screen (so the drive is working at this moment). But then when I click "Upgrade to Windows 7", I receive a error message stating: Error: The drive is not ready for use; its door may be open Any ideas what's causing this error? Since receiving the error, I have already replaced the DVD drive with a brand new one and still receive the same error. I've also checked Device Manager and no hardware is reporting problems (no cautions or failures).

  • Is there any way to access the mp3 or other file type tags from within an ipod touch/iphone?

    I am just looking for an existing app that will let me read all the tags that are stored in a particular song on my ipod touch/iphone. I'm not much of a programmer, but would be willing to learn the iphone sdk (on windows) if I could build a program that would do this for me. I would love to be able to modify the tag while on the iphone, but just viewing them would be a great use to me. I'd like to read the Year tag, the comments tag, composer, etc. It's so annoying that I can't do this. Or can I already and I just don't know how. Yes, I know how to view the lyrics tag. Seems they could have included the other tags. Help please? Thanks, Dave

  • Is there analog of aticonfig --set-powerstate for open source radeon driver?

    I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 on relatively old laptop with ATI Mobility x600 inside. On the last version of Ubuntu, when I was able to run proprietary fglrx driver, I was able to slow down graphic card by aticonfig --set-powerstate 1 and save some battery charge. Now I forced to run open source driver as ATI decided to drop support for old cards. But I can't find a way to control power states now except relying on DynamicClocks option in xorg.conf. But I really know better when and what powerstate I want, so is there a tool that let me change power state manually or at least let me somehow change the behavior of automatic power state selection?

    I wonder if we can force notepad++ to respect the previous whitespace character when it autoindents a new line: list[CR][LF] ····item1[CR][LF] ····item2[CR][LF] --->| (notepadd++ screenshot recreation showing hidden characters, because I don't have enough reputation to post images, sorry xP) If I am indenting with tabs I want a tab when notepad++ does an autoindent. But if I am indenting with spaces, I do want spaces.

  • Unable to load type error in ASP.NET 4 application on Windows Server 2003 / IIS6 -- only happens after first worker process recycle

    I'm running an ASP.NET 4.0 web application on IIS6 (Windows Server 2003 x64). This app is one of many running on this server under the Default Web Site -- but is alone on it's own application pool because the other sites are all running ASP.NET 2.0 still. When I deploy my application, it works just fine until the application pool recycles or kills its worker process (by default 2 hours or 20 minutes with no activity). After this, I get the error: "Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.   • Can I make my drives visible and change their partition type without losing my data?

    I have made a lot of mistakes and now I cannot see my hard disk nor I can start my operating system on my laptop. All my passwords and important files on my hdd without any backup. I followed this course of action Changed my hard disk partitions to dynamic just for getting 5th partition. (1st mistake) Decreased partitions to 4 again. Backed up operating system from 4th to 3rd partition with Norton Ghost. Booted from a live CD for Windows XP. Formatted 4th partition and moved my all important data from 1st and 2nd partitions to the 4th partition. Deleted 1st and 2nd partitions and got 1 partition from half of empty space. So I have just 3 partitions and empty space between 1st and 2nd partitions. Tried to install Windows 8 to the first partition but it did not allow because it is dynamic. Also it did not allow to install to other partitions. Tried to install Windows XP to the 1st partition but it said if I continue I cannot use other drivers. Therefore I escaped from installing it. Booted from the Windows XP live CD then increased 1st partiton to less than 400mb of empty space. Therefore I thought it will be adjacent but it was shown as 2 partitions. In my computer I see just 3 drivers. Using Norton Ghost I recovered my OS to the 1st partition. (2nd mistake it was on 4th partition originally) Booted from a Windows XP live CD I tried to install bcdedit to the Windows XP live CD but it did not work. Then I tried to install EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition. It was installed with errors then I start it and it showed me an error like there is no hard disk. I looked to my PC and my drivers were not there. Booted from the Norton Ghost CD and it did not show me my drivers either, but before I was able to see them. I checked numbers of partition shown by the Norton Ghost utility and they are still have same numbers so I have to see my drivers but I cannot see them now. My hard disk is shown as extarnal dynamic now so I cannot see any drive in my PC in the live Windows XP. There are two options; first one is import extarnal disk and second one is convert disk to basic. Will they delete my data? I fear booting from CDs like Windows XP live CD, Norton Ghost CD, and the operating system CD/DVD, because they may overwrite a few MB their data to my data. These recover tools are already exist in Windows XP live CD by The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Can any of them help me?     How do I search in the leading auction site for the PC headset(earpiece + microphone) that does not have a band to go around or over your head - instead it is entirely like a cable, with the microphone attached in one of the wires leading from the ear piece? How is it called? I'm not talking about Bluetooth wireless headsets. I have one from Plantronics I got years ago, which they stopped making and I want another one, but don't know how to search. Simply searching for HeadSet or similar terms, brings mostly the newer ones which I don't want. Thank you.

  • CentOS - Configuring Puppet to play nice with SELinux

    I am running into an issue every time I attempt to start the puppetmasterd service, for which I receive the following error message: root@service1 ~ # -> /etc/init.d/puppetmaster start Starting puppetmaster: Could not prepare for execution: Got 1 failure(s) while initializing: change from absent to directory failed: Could not set 'directory on ensure: Permission denied - /etc/puppet/ssl [FAILED] Apparently there was a known issue with this scenario as outlined in this bug report, however in the bug report it states the issue has been resolved in selinux-policy-3.9.16-29.fc15, but the latest CentOS default upstream version is 3.7.19-155.el6_3.4. So I am trying to figure out the best solution. I can either create a local security policy to allow puppetmasterd the access it needs, or keep researching and install a newer version of selinux-policy outside of the default upstream channel. Anyone have any recommendations?     I have a time management application that I use at home quite a lot and have running most of the time. At home, I have a desktop PC and a couple of laptops scattered around the house...all networked together. Unfortunately, the application I use is not multi-user and I risk losing/corrupting data if it has been left running on one computer inadvertently while I start using it on another one in another part of the house. I use Live Mesh to automatically keep the application's database synced across the different computers and I just need some way of making sure that I don't start using the application on another computer before closing it down on the previous one. Anyone know of any Windows software that can detect if an application is running simultaneously on different computers on my network, and warn me if I am about to have two open at the same time?

  • How can I get Gnome-Do to open in multiple X Screens?

    Hi, I LOVE Gnome-Do (the Ubuntu version of QuickSilver). The only thing is that I have several monitors, which are all completely separate X Screens (I.E. I can't move windows between them), and Gnome-Do will only open in ONE of those monitors. If I go to Monitor/Screen #2 and press Super+Space, the Gnome-Do window appears in the first monitor. Is it possible to get a separate Instance of Gnome-Do on each Screen? P.S. Using profiles may be a work-around...I've managed to get multiple instances of Firefox by using "firefox -P my_first_screen"...anything like that available in Gnome-do?

  • How to detect device type from device connected to router?

    I have a att router and there is an unknown device connected to my network. I can't seem to kick it off because of how att's router settings are created which is kind of dumb. I am able to see its local ip and mac address. I am on a mac with snow leopard. How can I get more information on the device with the information that I have? I want to see what kind of device it is, I have checked all devices that are connected to the router and none seem to match the local ip that is connected. I have WPA encryption setup with a strong password.

    I suspect I'm out of luck on this one, but here goes... Say I have a CHM help file that has http:// hyperlinks embedded in the help pages. When the user clicks on a hyperlink of the style: <a href="http://www.example.com" target="_blank">click here!</a> a browser window is opened and the target web page is displayed. If a browser is already open a new tab is created and the target displayed in that. If the user clicks on another link (or the same link) another browser window/tab opens, and so on. Is there any way I can force all clicks of the links to go to the same tab/browser window?

I called HP support, but they couldn't really help me. Unfortunately the rack manual does not name this screw either. After googling a while, I found the compatible "Thumb Style Rack Screws". It would do the job but isn't exactly what I am looking for. So, what is the name of the pictured screw.

  • Why can't I open my Access application in design mode?

    I have been given an Access 2007 application (mainly VB code) that I need to modify. It has been locked down for production, so the toolbars and so forth are not visible. However, it is a .mdb file, not .mde, so in theory it should be possible to get into design mode by holding Shift while opening it. But that method has only worked a total of three times out of the (probably) 60 or 70 times I've tried. I realize now that I should have enabled the toolbars while I had it open, but unfortunately hindsight doesn't get me anywhere now. Does anyone know what might be causing the problem? Is it my own fault, or the application's, or Access's?

  • Is there a method to export the URLs of the open tabs of a Firefox window?

    If I have a Firefox window open that contains 10 tabs, is there a way in Firefox or by a plug-in to get the URLs of those 10 tabs as a text file or some other format? Right now if I want to do this I need to copy the URL of tab A, paste it somewhere, move to tab B, and repeat. I could also bookmark all the tabs into a folder and export that, but that seems like such a hassle. If there is no such method, could someone point me to some documents that describe the basics of writing a Firefox plug-in. I am willing to write this myself if there is no "standard" way.

  • how to detect device type from connected device to router?

    i have a att router and there is an unknown device connected to my network. i cant seem to kick it off because of how att's router settings are created which is kind of dumb. i am able to see its local ip and mac address. i am on a mac with snow leopard. how can i get more information on the device with the information that i have? i want to see what kind of device it is, i have checked all deviced that are connected to the router and non seem to match the local ip that is connected. i have wpa encryption setup with a strong password.
