  If I'm returning ["foo"] from a RESTful web query, Which of these is more proper? Will pedantic REST parsing die on the newline? ["foo"]\n (with newline, Content-Length=8) ["foo"] (no newline, Content-Length=7) For easy regression testing I like the form with the newline, but I want to make sure I won't be breaking any application frameworks that might have a more strict view of the REST format.

• RIA: Manipulate DOM

  I want to display a website embedded in my own site and modify the DOM (e.g. change a button's color/size), similar to what Firebug is capable of. I'm aware of the security issues that arise - my plan is to use this approach to do live website usability testing (A/B style). I'm not limited to any specific RIA framework (yet would prefer Flex) - but it has to work without installing anything (so no AIR). Cheers :-)

  Background: Server OS is Windows Server 2012. GUI is installed as we come upto speed with powershell. Setup is staging, not production (yet). We have our (internal, domain limited) Root CA installed. I would like to take the Root CA offline to secure storage but before that I'd like to setup an intermediate CA which can take over actual live, online (int-RA-net) functionality Can someone guide me covering: creating the intermediate CA certificate request installing the intermediate CA certificate on domain controller (certification authority role already installed with Root CA online right now) use the intermediate CA to generate a certificate (any use certificate, just for demonstration purposes) Obviously this certification chain would be invalid on computers outside our domain (self trusted root - our root certificate is NOT from common 3rd parties). This last point is NOT a problem.

  I am using VS2008 C# and testing on my local XP Pro PC with local IIS, I have wrote a web service to call a third party software .exe file to use svn checkout commands to insert data into a folder, which use System.Diagnostics.Process.Start . The same codes did work when I use VS2008 build-in ASP.NET Development Server(http://localhost:2999/MyServices/MyServices.asmx). but when I use IIS normal URL(http://developer/MyServices/MyServices.asmx) to run Process.Start on the web service, it just haunlted and not doing anything.plz send one sample program.

• Lightweight monitoring for a Windows XP laptop

  Hello I have a windows XP laptop in a remote location. I would like to have an overview for CPU/Memory statistics from a remote location. Monitoring a specific service (a Tomcat instance) would be nice but not essential. I have seen the monitoring solutions (Nagios, cacti e.t.c) and they are all very heavy. I do not want to install mysql, web server and other stuff like that on the laptop. I don't even need a web solution at all. It could just be a simple command line app with a server port and on my machine another GUI application would connect there (and not a web browser) Is there something like this available?

• users see my SMS messages as coming from '1010100001'

  In my application, I ask the user to enter their cell and select their provider. I append the provider's email and create the message and fire via php.mail() The problem is that no matter what the header info is, the message comes from '1010100001' on some phones (like AT&T and the iPhone). When testing on my Verizon phone, I get the proper email address as the sender. Any idea how I can send a clearer message?

  What are all the file formats supported by UIWebView? In my testing, I found that it supports XLS, DOC, PPT, PDF but not XLSX, and DOCX, RTF. It supports image files like, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, not sure about TIFF or Exactly, what all types are supported is not clear... The UIWebView documentation also doesn't state it clearly. Could someone please help?

• I've created a software RAID on SUSE EL 10 and now I need to monitor it.......

  I have created a Software Raid using the yast2 GUI on SUSE ES 10/11. The raid works great and it's a raid 5. I have 5 Drives they are cheap 2GB Cases that have 2 - 1TB Drives in each case (Serial ATA Drives) and I connect them in via Esata to the motherboard. The problem I have as this is "cheap" storage when of the the 5 drives goes out on the RAID I seem to have no logs of any issues and it get's harder and harder to write to it until it dies. I use SAMBA to mount the 4TB parition to my PC's in my home on a GIG network. My question is this, are there any good (Free) tools in Linux to monitor a raid or the drives on the raid to detect any problems??? I haven't found any yet and was just wondering if some exist.

• GDM login screen is not displayed with VNC

  Hi, I set up VNC server with xinetd. Also configured GDM so that XDMCP is enabled. VNC connection seems okay, but GDM login screen is not shown. Instead I can only see old bare X screen (gray meshed background and X-shaped mouse pointer), which I can't do any interaction with it. What can I do to fix the problem? No log is written below /var/log/.   Possible Duplicate: What is the easiest video editing program to use on Windows hi, i want to edit videos, i'm looking for a good, premiere like software. but it seems premiere it self is too much for me... frankly i can see how those settings can be helpful for any one.. but it doesn't matter. i've just imported an HD video from my new camera (CS4), first, it cut most of the video, and second, it actually made the quality worse... i've tried a few free, programs, but as soon as i've seen the GUI of those, i closed them... i really like premier, but i honestly don't understand who needs all this PAL/DV stuff... is there any similar application that intend to more intermediate users? tahnks.

  Hi, I'm looking for a package (any language, really) that I can use on a corpus of 50 documents to perform interdocument similarity testing in various metrics, like tfidf, okapi, language models, lsa, etc. I want as a result a document similarity matrix, i.e. doc1 is x% similar to doc2, etc...   In Windows7, Is it possible to define/change the proxy config from the command line ? So, using the gui, I would go: Start Control Panel Network and Internet Internet Options Connections LAN Settings and then - enable/disable the proxy - define IP:port of proxy server But I would like to rather do this from the command line (so that I can run the command from a batch-file with a shortcut key - enabling me to switch proxy configs using a short-cut, rather than having to wade through the MS wizard). I've looked at using netsh.exe to change the settings for WinHTTP, but this seems to be thr wrong thing to do, as the WinHTTP setting do not appear to be related to the LAN settings. • How to make sure rsync sets proper file permissions?

  I'm transfering data from a synology box to a debian box with rsync. Unfortunately the permissions of all transfered files are set to rwxrwxrwx on the debian box. I want to make sure this files can be seen by the owning user only. Is there a way to tell the debian box to set the permissions to something like rwx------? The rsync job is set-up through the DSM GUI. If possible I'd rather avoid hacking the synology box and do something on the command line. This means I'm looking for a way to set the permissions on the server side (debian box). I'm using the latest DSM version (4.1).
