Seems like a good solution, but I really get some headache when I follow available examples on how to create views (queries) to select documents from a database and sort them.   • can not connect via SSH to a remote Postgresql database

    I am trying to connect via pgAdmin3 GUI to a Postgresql database on a remote server myHost on port 5432. Server side : I have a Unix myUser that match a postgresql role. pg_hba.conf is : local all all trust host all all 127.0.0.1/32 trust Client side : I open an ssh tunnel : ssh -L 3333:myHost:5432 myUser@myHost I connect to the server via pgAdmin3 ( or via psql -h localhost -p 3333 ). I get the following error message : server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request. I have tried to access a specific database with the superuser role using psql -h localhost -p 3333 --dbname=myDB --user=mySuperUser with no more success. What did I forget in the setup ? Thank you

    hi, I came accross something very strange when i was testing my pages in FireFox. The Adsense blocks are commented out (green) in firefox. It does render however properly when i paste all the rendered code in a blank aspx page in the same project without using masterpage. http://picpaste.com/problem.jpg Here's a picture of the problem. As you can see on one of the pages the script code is green. How is that possible?

  • Windows 8 Unable to perform hibernate

    Windows 8 Enterprise edition x86. Already enabled hibernate option, to have it on shutdown menu (start menu?) and set to hibernate on lid closing. However it's not hibernating for me. When I'm trying to sleep, it's sleep fine and wake up like a kid. But when I'm demanding hibernate, it disconnects internet, turn off screen and be back to lock screen in one second. Steps I've tried. Complete shutdown Clear hiberfile.sys by disabling and enabling back Resetting my power settings. Causes I suspect: Had dual boot with BackTrack with Windows 8 GUI boot manager. It was fine until I reinstall BackTrack, bootmgr resetted and I'm in Ubuntu boot menu;. Using additional hard disk through USB cable.(But it's not a problem before few days, however) How to make my system to hibernate and wakeup again.

  • Alias a Virtual Directory or Application as Root on IIS 7

    Our current IIS setup as two applications running on different paths at (for example) http://server/sub-a and http://server/sub-b. I want to alias http://server/sub-a as root so that just going to http://server/ will bring up the contents of sub-a. The problem I face is that when I initially set up a ReverseProxy it negatively affected http://server/sub-b. I know this is a fairly common problem- how have you solved it? 99.9% of my experience is with Apache, so I feel a tad lost in the GUI world of IIS.

    I'm new to linux and I've set up a web server with Ubuntu Desktop edition so I can practice with the GUI a bit before transitioning to Ubuntu Server. I've already set up a LAMP stack as well as FTP. Now I just need to know how to transfer my web files to the /var/www folder in Ubuntu. Previously I've worked on Mac OS and there's a central server for all the web files where I can FTP to. Now after I've managed to connect via FTP to the Ubuntu server, I see all the folders such as Desktop, Downloads, Documents etc but no web folder. Anyone able to help me understand how do I FTP to the /var/www folder in Ubuntu? Thanks

  • Yum through http proxy

    Hello, I have several Fedora 13 servers that have to connect through an http proxy for yum updates. All port 80 traffic has to be routed through this proxy. I have setup the proxy server in the network settings GUI. I can browse the internet just fine. I have also setup my proxy information in /etc/yum.conf as follows: proxy=http:proxy.largecorp.corp/accelerated_pac_base.pac proxy_user=user proxy_password=password I then added the export HTTP_PROXY="http:proxy.largecorp.corp/accelerated_pac_base.pac" to /etc/bashrc and sourced the file. When i run yum update: Loaded plugins:presto, refresh-packagekit Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) fro repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again. All of the repo urls are the defaults, as this is a fresh install.

    I've been having a crack at some of the problems over at http://projecteuler.net/ with JavaScript. I've been using a simple html page and running my code in script tags so I can log my results in the browsers' console. When experimenting with loops I sometimes cause the browser to crash. Is there a better environment for me to do this kind of development in, or anything I can do to allow me to carry on testing in the browser?

Also, there is a line that says (View:2, DB:1). I assume the DB means number of database lookups, but what about the view?

    The problem this time is to get the median of three values (easy) I did this: (define (med x y z) (car(cdr(x y z))) and it was accepted but when testing it: (med 3 4 5) I get this error: Error: attempt to call a non-procedure (2 3 4) And when entering letters instead of number i get: (md x y z) Error: undefined varia y (package user) Using something besides x y z I get: (md d l m) Error: undefined variable d (package user) the question was deleted dont know how anyway write a function that return the median of 3 values

  • Python ftplib - any way to shut it up?

    I am writing a test harness in python and as part of the testing I need to initialise an FTP server and upload various files. I am using ftplib and everything is working ok. The only problem I have is that I am seeing loads of FTP text appearing in the console window intermixed with my test results, which makes scanning the results quite tricky. I haven't found a way to shut ftp lib up and stop this happening, does anyone know how to stop this?

  • Font size of emacs in ubuntu

    I use emacs in ubuntu and I use Monaco 10 as its default font. However, the font rendering seems a bit odd compared to my gnome terminal with the same font size: It's a bit smaller and not as clear as that in the terminal. I've tried to avoid simply this with size 11 but it's too large for me. How can I make it the same as its look in the terminal ? Any help is appreciated :) UPDATE: I should tell you the above on is GUI emacs running a shell, and the below is the gnome terminal. On the right are their correspond font settings.   • sIFR: page refresh causes background images problems in IE8

    I'm using sIFR 3 r436. When a page is reloaded, and often also on load, in IE8 the background image does'nt appear completely. When clicking on an intern link the background is displayed correctly. Google Chrome has also minor problems in displaying. This is the test document: http://testserver.simplexontwerp.nl/sifr/ I have been testing a lot of different options, also older versions of sIFR, but nothing helps.     I have set up a virtual machine running Windows XP on my Ubuntu laptop. Using the virt-manager GUI application, I can insert a CD in my drive and go to Details?IDE CDROM 1 and click on the Connect button. Then the CD becomes available in my virtual machine. How can I do the same through the command line? Obviously, I'd like to be able to disconnect from the command line too. Note: I can start the VM from the command line using virsh start testbed (testbed being the name of the domain/VM).

  • Add multi monitor option to remote desktop web access

    I have a test environment for a remote desktop farm with a connection broker load balancing logins across remote desktop session host servers. All servers are built on Server 2012 R2. Using rd web access, we can access this farm from anywhere. When logging in via web access, you can choose the screen resolution or use full screen. If you have two monitors when selecting full screen, it will always use both your monitors. Does anyone know how to adjust the RDWeb page so that you can choose whether or not to use both your monitors? This option is in the GUI from RDP 6.1 onwards, so I would imagine there is a way to also add it the web access page.

    Often, but not always, the first few clicks on the "Allow" button on the Flash camera permissions dialog are ignored. This is very frustrating for users. And for me, when I'm testing code! I'm afraid I don't really know what else to say about the problem to give more insight. My hunch is that it has something to do with getting focus on the embed element, but that is merely a guess.   • Thunderbird segmentation fault problem

    Hey all, my thunderbird crashes few seconds after it boots up regardless of in safe mode or normal, here is a strace log: http://pastebin.com/tccfYwcD I've searched google, ubuntu forums, and mozilla bug tracker about this problem, but any of found answers did not helped me :/ I've tried: nscd daemon install solutions posted earlier fresh clean instal of ubuntu 10.10 (32b) and thunderbird 3.1.7 from repos on a VM - problem still exists removed all thunderbrid related dot files and dot dirs, and setup profile from beginning Remove thunderbird and related stuff with apt purge, and install tb from official .deb package None of these steps helps me, tb still crashes with segmentation fault :/ I use gmail IMAP account, I've searched and found few other tips on google, but with no success. I've even tried to remove mails from web gui, that came after first notice of problem, still no luck. I'm not using any network fs, and not sharing this account with anyone, and I do not use filesystem or home encryption either just clean install :/ If You guys need some more info for this let me know. TB: 3.1.7 from repos and official package Ubuntu 32bit 10.10 with medibuntu repos, fully updated

But i couldnt make it up !!! i have installed xampp using xamppinstaller.exe and its version is 3.1.0. i am heidisql Gui for database managament i tried the same by changing the # bind-address from "127.0.0.1" to my system ip address as # bind-address to "192.168.1.69" After changing and restarting my xampp mysql i went to other system and tried to login (hedisql) with the hostname 192.168.1.69 and it gave me an error saying Error 1130(0000): host' ....' is not allowed to connect to this mysql server. what should i do please help me !!
