• C#: Resource file refactoring

  Does anyone know of a good tool for refactoring resources in a visual studio 2008 solution? We have a number of resource files with translated text in an assembly used for localizing our application. But they have gotten a bit messy... I would like to rename some of the keys, and move some of them into other resource files. And I would like those changes be done in my code, and the translated versions of the resource files as well. Maybe a some analysis on what strings are missing in the translated versions, and what strings have been removed from the original as well... Does anyone know of a good visual studio extension or ReSharper plugin that can help me with this? Right now it is kind of a pain, because I have to first rename the key in the base resource file, then in the localized versions. And then compile to get all the compile errors resulting from the key which now have a different name, and then go through and fix them all... very annoying =/

  I am looking for a list of all JavaScript event handlers (such as onLoad, onSubmit ect...) and the corresponding html tags that they can be applied to. This is is the best document I have found so far, but I believe it is is incomplete. The W3 specs are even worse, all it says is "This attribute may be used with most elements.". All browsers have their own quarks, if you know of a document for a specific browser like Firefox or IE that would also be helpful.

• How to add attributes to a HTML element in a valid way?

  I want to be able to add an attribute to a HTML element to be able to identify what its referring to. E.g if I have a list of names and a checkbox next to each name, like this: <div id="users"> Bob smith <input type=checkbox /> </div> And when a checkbox is clicked and the event handler function for it is called, I want to be able to identify which user was selected/unselected. Ideally I'm looking for something like this: <input type=checkbox data-userId = "xxx" /> Then when its clicked: function handleClick() { var userId = $(this).attr('data-userId'); } However I'm looking to do this in a way that won't break my HTML validation, and would still be valid HTML and work in all browsers. Any suggestions?

  I need to generate some passwords, I want to avoid characters that can be confused for each other. Is there a definitive list of characters I should avoid? my current list is il10o8B3Evu![]{} Are there any other pairs of characters that are easy to confuse? for special characters I was going to limit myself to those under the number keys, though I know that this differs depending on your keyboards nationality! As a rider question, I would like my passwords to be 'wordlike'do you have a favoured algorithm for that? Thanks :)

  Hello, I am trying to figure out the SQL for doing some relatively simple operations on sets of records in a table but I am stuck. Consider a table with multiple rows per item, all identified by a common key. For example: serial model color XX1 A blue XX2 A blue XX3 A green XX5 B red XX6 B blue XX1 B blue What I would for example want to do is: Assuming that all model A rows must have the same color, find the rows which dont. (for example, XX3 is green). Assuming that a given serial number can only point to a single type of model, find out the rows which that does not occur (for example XX1 points both to A and B) These are all simple logically things to do. To abstract it, I want to know how to group things by using a single key (or combination of keys) and then compare the values of those records. Should I use a join on the same table? should i use some sort of array or similar? thanks for your help

• Delphi Volume control by keyboard

  Hi All, I recently had to replace a keyboard and this one ( GE 98552 ) does not have programmable buttons along the top and I miss the up/down volume buttons. it has 9 special buttons but none for volume and this model is not programmable. DUH! I am a long-time Delphi programmer but never messed with the multimedia stuff. Can anyone suggest some code to assign to say the "+" and "-" keys on the numeric pad that will change the volume up and down? I never use those two buttons so I would not be giving up functionality.   Is there anything built into the C++ Standard Library that allows me to work in a priority queue/heap like data structure (i.e., can always pop the highest value from the list, can define how the highest value is determined for custom classes, etc.) but allows me to update the keys in the heap? I'm dealing with fairly simple data, pairs to be exact, but I need to be able to update the value of a given key within the heap easily for my algorithm to function. WHat is the best way to achieve this in C++?

  I have an application with set limits on subscription attributes i/e a user can have five projects for subscription A but have ten for subscription B At present I run a check on there current usage when linking to the create action and if they are over there limit I do not display the link to create a new project. On the view (for the new project ) I again run the check (in a helper) to see if they can create a new project and if they are not I display a message stating so and a little upgrade link. Is this a secure method of stopping a user bypassing there subscription attribute limitations ? What about direct PUT requests etc ?

• Easiest way to keep SSRS child elements in the same relative position when the parent is re-positioned?

  I am trying to revise the layout of an SSRS report where I have several textboxes that are child elements of a rectangle. When I reposition the parent rectangle down by x, all of the child textboxes maintain the same absolute position. Their "Location" (defined relative to the parent) decreases by x. I then need to reposition the child textboxes. Additionally, if any of these ever has a negative "Location" then the parent rectangle is then repositioned back up by x. What is the easiest way to move everything in unison? I can Control-click everything and then drag them or use the arrow keys, but I want to position everything with precision and the "Location" field in the Properties window disappears when selecting more than one item. Is there a way I can avoid individually computing and typing in every "Location" value every time I have a small layout change? I am using SSRS (11.0.3360.12) within the Visual Studio 2012 Shell. • javascript timer fires up on the first key press

  I have a html page with a timer in it. I'm starting the timer with the keypress event, but i want it to execute only for the first key. I'm using a variable to catch the total keys in an other function which there were pressed and i have something like that: if(totaAttempts==1) start the timer, but with this solution the timer starts correctly, but is stomps when a key is pressed again. Any better ideas? • mod_rewrite: no ? and # in REQUEST_URI

  Hello. What I'm trying to do: have pretty URLs in the format 'http://domain.tld/one/two/three', that get handled by a PHP script (index.php) by looking at the REQUEST_URI server variable. In my example, the REQUEST_URI would be '/one/two/three'. (Btw., is this a good idea in general?) I'm using Apache's mod_rewrite to achieve that. Here's the RewriteRule I use in my .htaccess: RewriteRule ^/?([a-zA-Z/]+)/?$ /index.php [NC,L] This works really well thus far; it forwards every REQUEST_URI that consists of a-z, A-Z or a '/' to /index.php, where it is processed. Only drawback: '?' (question marks) and '#' (hash keys) seem to still be allowed in the REQUEST_URI, maybe even more characters that I've yet to find. Is it possible to restrict those via my .htaccess and an adequate addition to the RewriteRule? Thanks!

• Force an array to recalcuate length after sort

  If you take an array and do the following: arr = []; arr[100] = 1; The length will be 101, which makes sense due to 0-99 being set as undefined Now if we sort that array: arr.sort() it will look like this: [1, undefined x100] since keys are not preserved. However, the length is still 101, since the undefined have all been moved to the end, instead of removed. Is this behavior intentional and if so: is there a built-in function that removes undefined and recalculates and why is it intentional? I am not asking how to write my own function to recalculate length. A sorted array's length can easily be forced with for (x = 0; arr[x] != undefined; x++);arr.length = x;

• How to step inside NSManagedObject; access individual attributes.

  NSManagedObject *entryObj = [self.fetchedResultsController objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; entryObj consists of four String attributes. If I NSLog entryObj, I get the information I want. I cannot figure out how to access each of these properties individually. I read a similar post where the solution was to call "entity." I cannot figure out how to use "entity" to access a specific attribute. Any ideas? References? Tutorials? Thanks in advance.

  I'm building a site with a hashchange on wordpress, all working good. It just loads a single.php template file into a div. The problem is that i can still access my single url (http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post). Since its not having any head and style tags with it, i don't want people to go over there. Also google has picked up the direct links, because I use the href attribute to load content into the div. So my question is: If someone clicks a link lets say in a forum, http://www.mydomain.com/my-single-post , is it possible to redirect him instantly to http://www.mydomain.com/#my-single-post ? I have researched that it has something to do with .htaccess, but I also have Pages, where i don't want the hash infront of the page-name.

  Hi, I currently deployed an SSIS package (Developed on the 2005 version) (developed on my local server) in a pre production environment for testing. I have used the Row count transform to get a count of good/bad records. It works fine on my local system . However when i deploy this on the pre prod server, the row count does not work! (as in it does not recognize the vairbales i have assigned to the relevant transofm - no drop down abvaliable in the variables attribute part. tried deleting and adding a new transoform.. no luck. Strangely this does not work for any of the other packages also present/deployed on the same server (tried this out by dropping an rc tramsform onto an existing package... same problem) Any suggestions?   Consider the following two elements: <button type="submit" class="button">Test</button> <a href="#" class="button">Test 2</a> ...which use the following style definition: .button { background-color: yellow; color: white; border: 1px solid orange; display: inline-block; font-size: 24pt; padding: 2px 16px; text-decoration: none; } This produces two buttons beside each other with an equal height in Chrome. However, Firefox renders the button on the left with a height 1px greater than the button on the right (the <a>): (I've enlarged the image above by 2x.) • jQuery Nested Droppables

  I have a nested set of jQuery droppables...one outer droppable that encompasses most of the page and an a set of nested inner droppables on the page. The functionality I want is: If a draggable is dropped outside of any of the inner droppables it should be accepted by the outer droppable. If a draggable is dropped onto any of the inner droppables it should NOT be accepted by the outer droppable, regardless of whether the inner droppable accepts the draggable. So that would be easy if I could guarantee 1+ inner droppables would accept the draggable, because the greedy attribute would make sure it would only get triggered once. Unfortunately the majority of the time the inner droppable will also reject the draggable, meaning the greedy option doesn't really help. Summary: The basic functionality is a set of valid/invalid inner droppables to accept the draggable, but when you toss the draggable outside any of the draggables it gets destroyed by the outer droppable. What's the best way of doing this?

Creating a predicate for names beginning with letters was easy (@"name BEGINSWITH %@", searchLetter), however now I'd like to fetch all entities with a name that begins with a numerical value, or rather a non-alphabetical number. What would be the appropriate predicate expression here? Right now I don't want to get too deep into predicate programming, as this is all I need right now and time flies. • jQuery variable iteration with .each()

  My code needs to capture the 'src' of an image in a variable. It then needs to insert this variable into a 'href' tag on a link which surrounds the image. My code is as follows: $('.fancybox-image-li img').each(function(test) { var test = $(this).attr("src"); $('.fancybox-image-link').attr('href', ''+test+''); }); Unfortunately what seems to be happening is the 'test' var is only getting the attribute of the last img and then inserting this into all the 'href' attributes. Any ideas how I can get the variable to change per image. Cheers!
