  In this post I have shared my experience of designing and developing an OIM schedule job that uses multi threaded approach for updating data in OIM using APIs.  I have used thread pool (in particular fixed thread pool) pattern in developing the OIM schedule job. The thread pooling pattern has noted advantages compared to thread per task approach. • Google Chrome install fails with error 0x80004002

  I'm using Windows 7 64 bits and I'm trying to install Google Chrome. However, every time I do, I get this error message: Google Update installation failed with error 0x80004002. There is a Show me help for this issue link, but it does nothing. I tried the standalone installer to no avail. I also tried to delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google registry key, as suggested by other answers, with no more positive effects.

• "Meld requires pygtk 2.8.0 or higher."

  I got this error after installing Meld on a new Karmic installation: ~$ meld No module named pygtk Meld requires pygtk 2.8.0 or higher. I installed the latest version of python-gtk with aptitude but I'm not sure what version is actually installed. My python version is 2.6. This is weird because I have another machine that runs Karmic and Meld without a problem. Any ideas?

• NPS wont run or install error code 0x80070643

  attempt to install network policy server failed with error code 0x80070643 fatal error during installation. The sbs server ran an update on friday and since then NPS has not worked, I have checked permissions on system32\IAS and the builtin OU but still cannot run NPS. My last attempt to removed and reinstall has now left the machine unable to install NPS at all! Has anyone seen this or have a direction to suggest? Other google's have shown people haven't resolved it!

  Hi guys, I've got a Windows 2003 x86 server with a small WSS3.0 installation. Now we've bought a new server with Windows Server 2008 x64 and installed SharePoint Foundation 2010 on it. I wish to transfer the few lists and their view from the old WSS3 to SP2010. How should I do this? • How to burn WIM image to DVD or to convert it to ISO?

  I need to run vista recovery but its boot loader is destoryed. The only way to run reovery seems to be burning a temporary DVD from base.wim and boot.wim taken from vista recovery partition. How can I do this without having any vista installation or DVD? I can dowload anything but ony from legitimate sources (e.g. not torrents etc). Thank you in advance.

• Pairing Sony bluetooth headphones with my PC, under Windows 7

  Hi there, I have the Sony DR-BT50 wireless headphones. I've been able to successfully pair them to my iPhone and play music through them, but no such luck with my PC. I can add it to the bluetooth devices, but when the "Driver Software Installation" screen comes up, I get a red X and "No driver found". Any ideas how to fix this? (I have a bluetooth keyboard & mouse paired successfully, so it's not a problem with my laptop's bluetooth.)

• IIS 7 Authentication: Certain users can't authenticate, while almost all others can.

  I'm using IIS 7 Digest authentication to control access to a certain directory containing files. Users access the files through a department website from inside our network and outside. I've set NTFS permissions on the directory to allow a certain AD group to view the files. When I click a link to one of those files on the website I get prompted for a username and password. With most users everything works fine, but with a few of them it prompts for a password 3 times and then get: 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. But other users that are in the group can get in without a problem. If I switch it over to Windows Authentication, then the trouble users can log in fine. That directory is also shared, and users that can't log in through the website are able to browse to the share and view files in it, so I know that the permissions are ok. • Cannot Start Nginx Compiled from Source

  I am trying to compile Nginx from source based on the original compiled Nginx server running on my DigitalOcean server ( Ubuntu-14.04 64x ) but with a few extra modules. I can get everything installed smoothly but I can not get it to start. I am sure the ini is correct because I copied the original source off the current running Nginx server [ Even though I see that Nginx now adds the ini when compiling fron source ]. And now to start the server: service nginx start And this is where s#!+ hits the fan - Nada. I check to see if Nginx is running with service --status-all and its not. Also with nginx -V and its not installed??? I reboot the system too and still nothing. So I am not sure what is wrong here. The ini was copied over from the old server along with all the other config files after deleting the old files. When I opened the new compiled files, the nginx default data was present so I replaced them with my old original data prior to starting the new server for the first time. Also to be safe, I rm /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/default and symlinked with ln -s /etc/nginx/sites-available/default /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/default with no errors and I verified that the data was in the sites-enabled/default file. I don't think the server really/fully installed because of the nginx -V result: The program 'nginx' can be found in the following packages: * nginx-core * nginx-extras * nginx-full * nginx-light * nginx-naxsi Try: apt-get install <selected package> Do/should I apt-get install nginx-1.7.4 ?? Or what package do I use being that its a custom package and make install earlier did nothing?? If you need to see the conf files I copied over from the old to the custom server, LMK and I'll post them. Again your help here would be appreciated!

  I have a fresh new Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Setup and a ForeFront TMG installation. Both of them are newly installed. I enabled VPN client access and configured address assignment method. Now when I try to connect to VPN over internet (with Windows 7 client) I receive Error 619 stating that the credentials are wrong. Of course credentials are not wrong, something else is wrong here. • PostgreSQL service doesn't start on Windows 7

  (Not sure if this should be on Stack Overflow or Super User... please move if needed.) When I start the PostgreSQL service on Windows 7 x64, it immediately stops. When I check my log folder (C:\PostgreSQL\9.1\data\pg_log\), I see new but empty log files. The Event Viewer doesn't tell me anything other than the fact that the server did not respond. I've even tried turning off my firewall (I don't have any antivirus or anything else), but nothing helps. The setup works fine when I'm on Windows XP (32-bit) (same computer, different partition). I can't figure out what's wrong, even though I've tried tracing the system calls. Is PostgreSQL compatible with Windows 7 x64 at all? Any ideas what the issue might be? More info: This problem also happens at the end of installation -- the service starts, then stops immediately, before the installer can do anything. Installation log: Starting the database server... • Mac OS X Terminal: mouse support?

  Is there a native option (ie. without installing extra soft/package/plugins) to enable mouse support in the Terminal app? Actually, I'm using a lot vim with the option set mouse=a (activating mouse features). But it seems that Terminal don't support all xterm's features. It appears (after some googling) that Terminal had once the mouse support, but I wonder where did it go. N.B: I really want mouse support in Terminal, not only for vim, so please, don't suggest MacVim :]

I have found very little documentation on migrating the data. The schema has 13 tables (which have been migrated successfully) and 9 GB of data. MySQL version: 5.1.x PostgreSQL version: 8.4.x I want to use the R programming language to analyze the data using SQL select statements; PostgreSQL has PL/R, but MySQL has nothing (as far as I can tell). A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Create the database location (/var has insufficient space; also dislike having the PostgreSQL version number everywhere -- upgrading would break scripts!): sudo mkdir -p /home/postgres/main sudo cp -Rp /var/lib/postgresql/8.4/main /home/postgres sudo chown -R postgres.postgres /home/postgres sudo chmod -R 700 /home/postgres sudo usermod -d /home/postgres/ postgres All good to here.
