    I know that in Javascript document.location.href = "#my_id" tells the browser to display the same page starting from element with id="my_id". In this case, the address that appears in the address bar is in the following format: my_page_address#my_id Is this the only method to refer to a specific place on a page ? I'm looking for a method that will not show my_id in the address bar.

  • How do I create email addresses for all my users using my domain ([email protected])?

    My client wants to create email addresses for all their dotnetnuke users using their domain. The point is to keep the user's email addresses 'private' while still allowing communication through a public email address that they can control. It's not necessary to have a full webmail interface (although that would be nice). I'm thinking it would be enough just to forward any mail on and just act as a gateway. So if an email was sent to [email protected], it would be forwarded on to the email address associated with the dotnetnuke account with username 'rwain'. Is this possible to do in a shared hosting environment? Or do I need to create some custom mail server that does a conversion of the email address and forwards it?

  • Manipulating both unicode and ASCII character set in C#

    I have this mapping in my C# application string [,] unicode2Ascii = { { "&#3001;", "\x86" } }; ஹ - is the unicode value for a tamil literal "ஹ". This is the raw hex literal for the unicode value saved by MS Word as a byte sequence. I am trying to map these unicode value "strings" to a hex value under 255 (so as to accommodate non-unicode supported systems). I trying to use string.replace like this: S = S.replace(unicode2Ascii[0,0], unicode2Ascii[0,1]); However the resultant ouput has a ? instead of the actual hex 0x86 stored. Any pointer on how I could set the encoding for the second element of that array to something like windows-1252? Or is there a better way to do this conversion? thanks in advance

  • Possible to convert list of #defines into strings (C++)

    Suppose I have a list of #defines in a header file for an external library. These #defines represent error codes returned from functions. I want to write a conversion function that can take as an input an error code and return as an output a string literal representing the actual #define name. As an example, if I have #define NO_ERROR 0 #define ONE_KIND_OF_ERROR 1 #define ANOTHER_KIND_OF_ERROR 2 I would like a function to be able to called like int errorCode = doSomeLibraryFunction(); if (errorCode) writeToLog(convertToString(errorCode)); And have convertToString() be able to auto-convert that error code without being a giant switch-case looking like const char* convertToString(int errorCode) { switch (errorCode) { case NO_ERROR: return "NO_ERROR"; case ONE_KIND_OF_ERROR: return "ONE_KIND_OF_ERROR"; ... ... ... I have a feeling that if this is possible, it would be possible using templates and metaprogramming, but that would only work the error codes were actually a type and not a bunch of processor macros.     I'm starting a conversion of a system from MS SQL Server to Postgres. I have the table structures converted, and I use "bcp" to get the data out of SQL Server. ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0x80 HINT: This error can also happen if the byte sequence does not match the encoding expected by the server, which is controlled by "client_encoding". CONTEXT: COPY cm_outgoing, line 200: "200 c:\temp\200.xml 2009-10-10 01:50:44.000 1900-01-01 00:00:00.000" I've already used "sed" to get rid of the NUL (0x00) entries in the file, and I can't find any instances of 0x80 in the file that I'm trying to import. Any thoughts? Is there an easier way?

  • Dynamically Insert Variables into DB Table using PreparedStatement

    I was working with PreparedStatement today and noticed that it used setString() setTimestamp() etc. to insert variables into the DB. I basically have 20 tables each with at least 15 columns and it would not be feasible for me to manuallt write down all the setters. Considering that I have an ArrayList "Vals" which contains all the variables to be inputted in String format (obtained by getString() using PreparedStatement itself), is there any way I can do an insert without using expressly using the Setters? That would save me a lot of time.

I am using NLineInputFormat class as input format to manage the number of map tasks. However, I get slightly different numbers for exact same input occasionally, or depending on the number of instances (10, 15, and 20). Can anyone tell me why I am seeing different number of tasks launched?

I have time zone value of the User is stored in DB with this format (-05:00,1), where -5.00 represents EST time zone value and the 1 indicates that this time zone follows daylight saving (if 0 not a daylight saving zone).     Been Googling around without finding much at all, so does anyone know of a class or library that helps you parse any sort of language, like a Domain Specific Language (I'm creating one, so I'm flexible in what the syntax and format can be) into either PHP code or some helpful struct or a class hiearchy or ... ? Anything goes at this point. :) I want to experiment with parsing text files into tokens, building up a small grammar and syntax library to express things like Business Natural Languages.
