  I wrote a program in java that rolls a die and records the total number of times each value 1-6 is rolled. I rolled 6 Million times. Here's the distribution: #of 0's: 0 #of 1's: 1000068 #of 2's: 999375 #of 3's: 999525 #of 4's: 1001486 #of 5's: 1000059 #of 6's: 999487 (0 wasn't an option.) Is this distribution consistant with random dice rolls? What objective statistical tests might confirm that the dice rolls are indeed random enough?

I know that setting up object access auditing may be an option, but if I use that I then have the problem of trying to match up event log entries to specific files... sounds messy! • PDF printing in java

  Hello, is there a way to print pdf files from a java webapplication on the local printer of the end user (connected via vpn)? The simple lookup of a printer via Java Printing Service always returns printer which are not able to print pdfs. Are there other libs which can be used for printing in java? By the way, just opening the pdf in the browser is not an option, though it must be possible to run scheduled batch printing without user interaction. Thanks in advance

  Hi I need a utility to close server socket handles open by the process, on windows. I cannot use tcpview as it does not close the server socket (ESTABLISHED state). Process explorer comes close with its handle list and "close handle" option, but it only gives the handle path (like \Device\Afd) and if application has open many such sockets I cannot tell which handle I would like to close.   I cannot figure out a way to disable a container AND its children in Swing. Is Swing really missing this basic feature? If I do setEnabled(false) on a container, its children are still enabled. My GUI structure is pretty complex, and doing a traversion of all elements below the container is not an option. Neither is a GlassPane on top of the container (the container is not the entire window).

  I'm looking for a jQuery lightbox plugin that has the ability to, with it's next and previous buttons, cycle through images repeatedly. Like a carousel effect. I've been using jQuery Lightbox Plugin (balupton edition) but that doesn't have the option to continue cycling through images. It reaches the last image in the array and then disables the 'next' button. So to save me some time coding, what are some plugins you can recommend?

  The regular expression class (rxregexp.dll) that comes with ooRexx (I'm on 4.0.0) is relatively low on function compared, say, with Python's re module (even at 2.5.2). It appears to have no assertions, no facilities for group extraction, or for substitution. Greedy or lazy matching is a global pattern option, rather than flagged by an additional "?". Basically, a pre-PCRE regular expression engine. Does anyone know if anything with more up-to-date function is available?
