  • Convert &euro; -> € in XUL

    I need to convert HTML special symbols to their appropriate Unicode values in my Firefox extension. I'm not dealing with HTML DOM, so can't use the trick with giving value to div and taking back. Also there are too many of them to convert manually. Thought Firefox has something to use. The converted text should go to XUL's description element on statusbar. Any idea how to accomplish this?

  • fire jquery .animate oninput only once

    http://jsfiddle.net/nFFuD/ I'm trying to animate the search field in this example using jquery, making it move to the top of it's containing div oninput. I was originally using scriptaculous effect.move to do this, but I couldn't make the event only fire once, so if someone kept typing after the first keystroke, the effect would stop and start again from it's current position in the animation for each additional keystroke, which is stupid. I'm new to new to using jquery so please, take it easy if I'm not making very much sense.

  • jQuery reference to (this) does not work?

    I have this href link with text either "attivo" or "non attivo" User can set the item to 'active' or 'closed' in the database with an ajax request $.post() I have 2 questions for these: I can't get the reference to $(this) to work.. I tried it with a normal link and it works, but not wrapped in if/else?? How can I prevent the user from clicking more than one time on the link and submitting several request? Is this a valid concern? Do I need some sort of a small timer or something? First I was thinking about a javascript confirm message, but that's pretty annoying for this function..     hi, I'm using Drupal for a website and I can only use jQuery 1.2.7 (not the most recent versions). I want to fade in / fade out a div element and I'm using mouseover / mouseout functions. However, this element contains some children and when I move the mouse over it, the mouseout function is triggered, because I'm moving over one of its children. Since I don't have mouseleave function, how can I solve this issue ? thanks

    I have a treeview control where I am dynamically selecting a node depending on user interaction. when a node is selected I want to be able to have the scrollbar go to the location of that selected node in the tree.
