• Why does _GET in PHP wrongly decodes slash?

  Hi, Today I run into some oddity with PHP, which I fail find a proper explanation for in the documentation. Consider the following code: <?php echo $_GET['t']. PHP_EOL; ?> The code is simple - it takes a single t parameter on the url and outputs it back. So if you call it with test.php?t=%5Ca (%5c is a '\'), I expected to see: \a However, this is what I got: $ curl http://localhost/~boaz/test.php?t=%5Ca \\a Notice the double slash. Can anyone explains what's going on and give recipe for retrieving the strings as it was supplied on the URL? Thanks, Boaz

• Updating div after full page refresh following AJAX request

  Hi, I have an AJAX controller action which returns JSON. The returned JSON is handled via jQuery and contains a message displayed in an update div. The JSON also contains a flag which indicates a change in state. If this is true the entire page needs to be reloaded from a different url. This is currently performed in the jQuery using window.location.replace(url). In the situation where a full page refresh occurs, I still want to display the message from the JSON in the update div, but after the page has fully reloaded. How can I ensure the div is updated with the message after the window.location.replace call and the page has been completely reloaded? Thanks. (I realise AJAX is not intended for full page refreshes but I can't think of a simple way of avoiding it in this scenario. Normal behaviour here is updating the div with a status message.)

  URL: Link (1) According to this wesbite .. you cannot implement Abstract classes but derive from them. This makes sense and I have read this many times. Like an interface, you cannot implement an instance of an abstract class, however you can implement methods, fields, and properties in the abstract class that can be used by the child class. But on MSDN URL: TextWriter CLass on MSDN TextWriter is an abstract class but it has two constructors defined ... and according to the MS 70-536 book, the following statement is valid: TextWriter tw = new File.CreateText("myFile.Txt") The static file class and it's CreateText method is fine by me as I have studied it on MSDN but can somebody explain this little contradiction I have found? Surely I am not the first? Why is instantaion of base abstract classes possible????

  Im writing test scripts in python for selenium web testing. How do I pass parameters through a python function to call in a later function? I first have a login test function. Then I have a new user registration function. Im trying to pass the Username and Password I use in the registration function to the testLogin function that I call inside the testRegister function.   I want to CURL to Google to see how many results it returns for a certain search. When I turn off output stream redirection and do not read StandardOutput it works correctly. What do I do wrong ?

  Hi all, Happy New Year to all. I'm a newbie in VB.NET and ASP.NET. This is my problem: I retrieve a list of records from DB and, for every row, I need to show 4 checkboxes. I can use a checkboxlist for every rows, but it's not so clear how I can process the results after the submit. I've some object and some operations available for that object. From database I extract a list of object with all operations. For every operation I want to show a check box to enable or disable the operation. The result is something like that: OBJ1 - url - [] [x] [] OBJ2 - url - [] [x] [x] On url I've an href to another page created using the Id retrieved from DB. • C# How to create objects without class definitions?

  Is it possible to create objects at designtime without having to have hard coded class definitions, then populate properties with primitives or even strongly typed data types? This might sound confusing, so I will attempt to give you a use case scenario. Use case: You have an XML config file that could hold configuration values for connecting to various systems in an SOA application. In C# the XML file is read, but for each system the configuration properties are different (e.g: SQL might have a connection string, while SharePoint might need a username + password + domain + url, while yet an smtp server would need username + password + port + url) So instead of creating static classes as follows public class SharePointConfiguration or public class SQLConfiguration, then have each class with custom properties (this is cumbersome) or using a 1990's method, an arrayList or some named collection Is there not a more preferred way to achieve this? Taking advantage of new language features, that can still offer design time intellisense, which would make the code easier to maintain and less prone to error. Thanks

  $page = $curl->post($baseUrl.'/submit.php', array('url'=>$address,'phase'=>'1','randkey'=>$randKey[0],'id'=>'c_1')); $exp = explode('recaptcha_image',$page); The id recaptcha_image is not found although if i echo $page; the webpage will be displayed and surprisingly even the recpatcha div (with the image itself). Curl shouldn't load the image for recaptcha but somehow it does though when i try to find the div, it is not there. Is there a way to capture the url of the recaptcha image?

• Jquery interactive table - multiple instance problem

  Hello forgive me if i use the wrong terminology and the messiness of this code it is the first time I have used jquery. I am making an interactive table-product selector. Compatible systems run along the top and colour choices down the left. The table works by seeing if there is a cell is empty in a html table. If the cell is empty then that is a compatible system and a circle image is in that cell and it is selectable. When selected the product code is generated (by looking at the colour value and system name) and the relevant resource download pack can be downloaded. This works 'fine' when on its own on a page however when I have multiple instances of it on one page they interfere with each other. Only the first one works and clicking in the 2nd 3rd etc table updates the first one. I need these to function independant of each other. As a result, I need to use the new .live() option. As an example, to bind all items with a class of .foo now and future created: $('.foo').live('click', function(){ alert('clicked'); }); It takes (and behaves) the same as .bind(). However, I want to bind an autocomplete...
