• Google OAuthGetRequestToken returns "signature_invalid"

  Trying for hours to get a request token using Google OAuthGetRequestToken but it always returns "signature_invalid". For a test I use the oAuth Playground to successfully request the token. If it is something like "Test2009" it works fine. Does anyone have an idea why, and maybe a solution for that?

• Parsing language for both binary and character files

  The problem: You have some data and your program needs specified input. For example strings which are numbers. You are searching for a way to transform the original data in a format you need. And the problem is: The source can be anything. It can be XML, property lists, binary which contains the needed data deeply embedded in binary junk. And your output format may vary also: It can be number strings, float, doubles.... You don't want to program. You want routines which gives you commands capable to transform the data in a form you wish. Surely it contains regular expressions, but it is very good designed and it offers capabilities which are sometimes much more easier and more powerful. Something like a super-grep which you can access (!) as program routines, not only as tool. It allows: joining/grouping/merging of results inserting/deleting/finding/replacing write macros which allows to execute a command chain repeatedly meta-grouping (lists-tables-hypertables) Example (No, I am not looking for a solution to this, it is just an example): You want to read xml strings embedded in a binary file with variable length records. Your tool reads the record length and deletes the junk surrounding your text. Now it splits open the xml and extracts the strings. Being Indian number glyphs and containing decimal commas instead of decimal points, your tool transforms it into ASCII and replaces commas with points. Now the results must be stored into matrices of variable length....etc. etc. I am searching for a good language / language-design and if possible, an implementation. Which design do you like or even, if it does not fulfill the conditions, wouldn't you want to miss ? EDIT: The question is if a solution for the problem exists and if yes, which implementations are available. You DO NOT implement your own sorting algorithm if Quicksort, Mergesort and Heapsort is available. You DO NOT invent your own text parsing method if you have regular expressions. You DO NOT invent your own 3D language for graphics if OpenGL/Direct3D is available. There are existing solutions or at least papers describing the problem and giving suggestions. And there are people who may have worked and experienced such problems and who can give ideas and suggestions. The idea that this problem is totally new and I should work out and implement it myself without background knowledge seems for me, I must admit, totally off the mark.

• Why is this OpenGL ES code slow on iPhone?

  I've slightly modified the iPhone SDK's GLSprite example while learning OpenGL ES and it turns out to be quite slow. I've also tried using GLBuffer, when translation was pre-generated and there was only one DrawArray but gave the same performance (~4 FPS). ===EDIT=== Meanwhile I've modified this so that much smaller quads are used (sized: 34x20) and much less overlapping is done. There are ~400 quads-800 triangles spread on the whole screen. Texture size is 512x512 atlas and RGBA_8888 while the texture coordinates are in float. The code is very ugly in terms of API efficiency: there are two MatrixMode change along with two loads and two translation then a drawarrays for a triangle strip (quad). Now this produces ~45 FPS.

• Replace a div content with PHP

  hi everybody, yesterday, I posted a question about "Hom to change a DIV id with a php function" and someone found the right answer with a regular expression. The problem is that I wanted to use this answer to aplly the method on other same problems. But, as I'm very bad at regular expressions, I couldn't. As you can see, the content has these ids: div id="player959093-parent" div id="player959093" div id="player959093-config s1.write("player959093"); So my question is: Is there a function that can replace the string "player959093" or concatenate it with some other string to resolve the display problem? • HelloWebView Sample: now using SDK 3 and getting killed

  Hey Folks, Well I was trying to get the HelloWebview example working with SDK 7 with no success (see HelloWebView Sample: java.lang.SecurityException: Permission Denial thread), so I decided just out of curiosity to back off to SDK3 to see if I could learn anything. I have been able to get all the "Layout" samples to work and decided to try something a little harder. Unfortunately, I still cannot get the simple HelloWebView app to run. I no longer get a Permission Denial but now the app is getting killed. Killed usually implies that there are not enough resources (memory etc.) for an application to run.... Any thoughts? Are there any other log files I can look at either on my computer or on the emulator? The main.xml, manifest, and console output are below. Let me know if you need more information. • How can I read/write data from a file?

  I'm writing a simple chrome extension. I need to create the ability to add sites URLs to a list, or read from the list. I use the list to open the sites in the new tabs. I'm looking for a way to have a data file I can write to, and read from. I was thinking on XML. I read there is a problem changing the content of files with Javascript. Is XML the right choice for this kinda thing? I should add that there is no web server, and the app will run locally, so maybe the problem websites are having are not same as this. Before I wrote this question, I tried one thing, and started to feel insecure because it didn't work.   I have a web-app that requires two settings: A JDBC datasource A string token I desperately want to be able to deploy one .war to various different containers (jetty,tomcat,gf3 minimum) and configure these settings at application level within the container. My code does this: InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(); Context envCtx = (javax.naming.Context) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env"); token = (String)envCtx.lookup("token"); ds = (DataSource)envCtx.lookup("jdbc/datasource") Let's assume I've used the glassfish management interface to create two jdbc resources: jdbc/test-datasource and jdbc/live-datasource which connect to different copies of the same schema, on different servers, different credentials etc. Say I want to deploy this to glassfish with and point it at the test datasource, I might have this in my sun-web.xml: ... <resource-ref> <res-ref-name>jdbc/datasource</res-ref-name> <jndi-name>jdbc/test-datasource</jndi-name> </resource-ref> ... but sun-web.xml goes inside my war, right? surely there must be a way to do this through the management interface Am I even trying to do the right thing? Do other containers make this any easier? I'd be particularly interested in how jetty 7 handles this since I use it for development.   I am using cocos2d to build an iPhone game. It's mostly done, but along the way I came across some things that I would like to handle better. I am fairly new to Objective C, and honestly I do more Perl scripting in my day-to-day job than anything, so my C skills are a little rusty. One of them is the fact that I have modified cocos2d files for some specific cases in my game. However, when I update to a new version, I have to manually pull my changes forward. So, the question is, what is the best way to deal with this? Some options I have thought of: Overload/redefine the cocos2d classes. I was under the impression that I cannot overload existing class functions, so I don't think this will work. Create patches that I re-apply after library updates. I don't think this will work as the new files won't necessarily be the same as the old ones, and if they were, I could just copy the whole file forward. Turn in my changes to Cocos2d. Not an option as my changes are very specific to my application. Am I missing something obvious? UPDATE: I will explain what I am doing to be more clear. Cocos2d has a CCNode object, which can contain children, etc. I added a shadow, which is very similar to a child, but handled a little differently. The shadow has an offset from the parent, and translates with it's parent, rotates around it's own center when the parent rotates, etc. The shadow is not included as a true child, however, so given the correct z-index, the shadows can render under ALL other objects, but still move with the parent. To do this I added addShadow functions to CCNode, and modified the setPosition and setRotate functions to move the shadowSprite: CCNode.m: -(id) init { if ((self=[super init]) ) { ... shadowSprite_ = nil; ... } } ... -(BOOL) addShadow: (CCNode*) child offset: (CGPoint) offset { shadowSprite_ = child; shadowSprite_.position = CGPointMake(position_.x+offset.x, position_.y+offset.y); return YES; } ... -(void) setRotation: (float)newRotation { rotation_ = newRotation; isTransformDirty_ = isInverseDirty_ = YES; if(shadowSprite_) { [shadowSprite_ setRotation: newRotation]; } } There is more, of course, including the prototypes in the .h file, but that is the basics. I don't think I need shadowSprite to be a property, because I don't need to access it after it has been added.

I can successfully write data into S3, but querying either by using "SELECT u FROM User u" or "SELECT u FROM User u WHERE id = :id" causes a NullPointerException to be thrown. • Parameters not being passed into template when using the .Net transform classes

  I am using the .Net XslCompiledTranform to run some simple XSLT (see below for a simplified example). The example XSLT is meant to do simply show the value of the parameter that is passed in to the template. The output is what I expect it to be (i.e. <result xmlns:p1="http://www.doesnotexist.com"> <valueOfParamA>valueA</valueOfParamA> </result> when I use Saxon 9.0, but when I use XslCompiledTransform (XslTransform) in .net I get <result xmlns:p1="http://www.doesnotexist.com"> <valueOfParamA></valueOfParamA> </result> The problem is that that the parameter value of paramA is not being passed into the template when I use the .Net classes. I completely stumped as to why. when I step through in Visual Studio, the debugger says that the template will be called with paramA='valueA' but when execution switches to the template the value of paramA is blank. Can anyone explain why this is happening? Is this a bug in the MS implementation or (more likely) am I doing something that is forbidden in XSLT? Any help greatly appreciated.   Hi, I found this answer about external configuration files. I'm trying to do a similar thing. I have a small webapplication called StatsGen I want to include in other projects, and for convenience I'd like to have the settings inside the bin folder, in a config file with an appropriate name, in my case: StatsGen.config. So I've put these line in the web.config (as explained in the answer I mentioned above): <configSections> <section name="StatsGenSettings" restartOnExternalChanges="true" type="System.Configuration.NameValueFileSectionHandler" /> <!--sectionGroups--> </configSections> <StatsGenSettings configSource="StatsGen.config"></StatsGenSettings> <!--and here comes the rest... appSettings etc.--> Inside the bin folder, I created a StatsGen.xml file, then renamed it to StatsGen.config. It looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <StatsGenSettings> <add key="Password" value="myStatsPass" /> <add key="ConnectionString" value="Server=mydbsrv;Database=myDB;User ID=myUser;Password=myPass" /> </StatsGenSettings> I created an Helper class, as suggested in the answer. In the Page_Load of my default.aspx.cs file, I've put: goodPassword = StatsGenSettings.Instance["Password"]; When I load my page, I get this error: The type initializer for 'StatsGen.Helpers.StatsGenSettings' threw an exception. I've tried to exlude the helper and just to get access to the key, like this: NameValueCollection _settings = ConfigurationManager.GetSection("StatsGenSettings") as NameValueCollection; And I get this error: Unable to open configSource file 'StatsGen.config'. (C:\Users\pbo\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\StatsGen\StatsGen\web.config line 21) At line 21 I just have this, as explained above: <StatsGenSettings configSource="StatsGen.config"></StatsGenSettings> So now I'm wondering, what's wrong? Some detailed help would be cool... like: where exactly should I declare the StatsGenSettings element inside the web.config?   I have looked at many examples for validating an XML file against a DTD, but have not found one that allows me to use a proxy.
