Should I be using constants for this? If yes, how should I go about implementing frequently used string literals and will it significantly affect performance on a high-traffic site?   The API defined in the ADL SDK manual reads: int ADL_Display_ConnectedDisplays_Get(int iAdapterIndex, int* lpConnections) They say that lpConnections is the pointer to the bit field indicating whether the output connectors on the specified adapter have devices physically attached to them. This information is exactly what I want but nowhere in the documentation I could find any data on what the various bits in the lpConnections obtained might mean. I also tried going through the header files but found nothing relevant on this. I know this is very specific to but can anyone here answer?

  The title says it all. One specific instance, I want to set a BP on every switch(msg) handled in WndProc() - but not until my app has initialized and is 'stable'. Of course, it receives a lot of windows messages when it starts up. I can't see a way to toggle a group of breakpoints, or to save them for later, use other BPs then restore the first set.

  The function midiOutGetDevCaps returns a structure MIDIOUTCAPS. I'd need more specific information when querying a usb midi device on windows xp, in particular I'd need the information displayed under "Location" when opening the respective device using the Device Manager. I need this information in order to programmatically distinguish between several MIDI Interfaces connected to a computer. Using midiOutGetDevCaps, I uniformly get "USB Audio Device" for every midi usb interface connected to the computer, so distinguishing between the interfaces is impossible.

I can do this using normal code, but I think that this is exactly the sort of thing for which regular expressions were designed.

  What is the best way to set the RGB components of every pixel in a System.Drawing.Bitmap to a single, solid color? If possible, I'd like to avoid manually looping through each pixel to do this. Note: I want to keep the same alpha component from the original bitmap. I only want to change the RGB values. I looked into using a ColorMatrix or ColorMap, but I couldn't find any way to set all pixels to a specific given color with either approach.
