  • wsgi-served page does not refresh

    - by Steve
I recently got my first app to work in uWSGI with Cherokee. I used the following code taken from the uWSGI docs: def application(environ, start_response): start_response('200 OK', [('Content-Type', 'text/plain')]) yield 'Hello World\n' The page correctly reads Hello World. When I change that text to New Thing and refresh, nothing changes. What am I forgetting? What I've tried: clearing browser history and cache stopping and starting Cherokee

  • Downloadable HTML Test Corpus

    - by Alex Jordan
I am working on a browser plug-in for Firefox, and I would like to be able to do some automated testing to make sure that it's handling a variety of different HTML/JavaScript features correctly. Does anyone know of a good downloadable corpus of HTML and/or JavaScript pages that could be used for this type of testing?

  • Special chars in Amazon S3 keys?

    - by Martin
Is it possible to have special characters like åäö in the key? If i urlencode the key before storing it works, but i cant really find a way to access the object. If i write åäö in the url i get access denied (like i get if the object is not found). If i urlencode the url i paste in the browser i get "InvalidURICouldn't parse the specified URI". Is there some way to do this?

  • Retrieving information with Python's urllib from a page that is done via __doPostBack()?

    - by Omar
I'm trying to parse a page that has different sections that are loaded with a Javascript __doPostBack() function. An example of a link is: javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMain$ucOemSchPicker$dlSch$ctl03$btnSch','') As soon as this is clicked, the browser doesn't fetch a new URL but a section of webpage is updated to reflect new information. What would I pass into a urllib function to complete the operation?

  • What is correct content-type for excel files?

    - by taw
I want excel files on a website to open in Excel when clicked, not get saved on desktop, or get opened embedded in a browser etc. Now obviously it all depends on how everything is configured for each user, but what's the best Content-Type and other settings to achieve just that most of the time?

  • Is it possible to pickle python "units" units?

    - by Ajaxamander
I'm using the Python "units" package (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/units/) and I've run into some trouble when trying to pickle them. I've tried to boil it down to the simplest possible to case to try and figure out what's going on. Here's my simple test: from units import unit, named_unit from units.predefined import define_units from units.compatibility import compatible from units.registry import REGISTRY a = unit('m') a_p = pickle.dumps(a) a_up = pickle.loads(a_p) logging.info(repr(unit('m'))) logging.info(repr(a)) logging.info(repr(a_up)) logging.info(a.is_si()) logging.info(a_up.is_si()) logging.info( compatible(a,a_up) ) logging.info(a(10) + a_up(10)) The output I'm seeing when I run this is: LeafUnit('m', True) LeafUnit('m', True) LeafUnit('m', True) True True False IncompatibleUnitsError I'd understand if pickling units broke them, if it weren't for the fact that repr() is returning identical results for them. What am I missing? This is using v0.04 of the units package, and Google App Engine 1.4 SDK 1

  • Is there a way using jQuery or Javascript to force a page to open in Firefox?

    - by sadmicrowave
Is there a way using jQuery or Javascript to force a page to open in Firefox? For example, if the user has their default browser set to internet explorer, but they have firefox on their computer - open a new firefox window with the intended page. If so, I would need to check to see if they have firefox on their machine; otherwise, redirect to the mozilla firefox download site... any suggestions?

  • Random <hr/> that I don't know how to get rid of!

    - by Anonymous the Great
    There is no extra <hr/> on the page, and I cannot figure out why it is there. Do you see anything that is causing it? I am sorry for posting the whole thing, I do not know exactly where it starts. The <hr/> is at the top somewhere, but I'm not sure where. <?php print "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>"; ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <font face="Segoe UI"> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> /*function detectBrowser() { var browser = navigator.appCodeName; if (browser!="Mozilla") {document.location.href="noaccess.php"; alert(browser);} } detectBrowser(); */ </script> <title>Second</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="allCSS.css"/> <center> <!--<img align="right" src="logo.png" id="headerimg"/>--> <input type="image" id="headerimg" src="logo.png" align="right" onclick="toggleh();"/> <ul align="center" class=""> <div class="menu"> <ul class="nav"> <li><strong><a href="index.php">Home</a></strong> <ul> <li><a href="games.php">Games</a></li> <li><a href="browse.php">Browse</a></li> <li><a href="catalogue.php">Catalogue</a></li> <li><a href="forum.php">Forums</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><a href="games">Games</a></strong> <ul> <li><a href="profile.php">Profile</a></li> <li><a href="settings.php">Settings</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><a href="contact">Contact</a></strong> <ul> <li><a href="contact/index.php">Phone</a></li> <li><a href="contact/index.php">Email</a></li> <li><a href="contact/index.php">Mail</a></li> </ul> </li> </div> </center> </body> <center> <?php echo '<div id="msg">'; include 'message.txt'; echo '</div>'; //include 'hits.txt'; ?> <p> <?php function ChangeText($txt) { $txt='<script type="text/javascript">get();</script>'; echo '<script type="text/javascript">change();</script>'; $filename="message.txt"; $fp=fopen($filename,'w'); fwrite($fp,'<h4 class="hmsg">' . $txt .   • Ruby: How to post a file via HTTP as multipart/form-data?

    - by kch
I want to do an HTTP POST that looks like an HMTL form posted from a browser. Specifically, post some text fields and a file field. Posting text fields is straightforward, there's an example right there in the net/http rdocs, but I can't figure out how to post a file along with it. Net::HTTP doesn't look like the best idea. curb is looking good.

  • How to prevent arbitrary code execution vulnerability in our programs?

    - by Calmarius
You always read in changelogs when your system or browser or any program updates that they fixed a bug that made possible that an attacker can execute any code in your computer with a forged website, or attacking your computer with carefully forged packets, etc... Because you read it so often that means any program can have similar vulnerabilites... What causes this? how to design our programs to prevent similar issues?

  • Getting max. screen resolution with Group By

    - by Quandary
    Question: I have a website where I gather browser statistics. I have an SQL table (T_Visits), with the following columns: uniqueidentifier Visit_UID, uniqueidentifier User_UID, datetime Visit_DateTime, float Screen_w, float Screen_h, float Resolution = Screen_w * Screen_h varchar resolutionstring = screen_w + ' x ' + screen_h Now I want to get the maximum/minimum resolution each user had: Select User_UID, max(resolution) from T_Visits GROUP BY User_UID How can I get the corresponding resolution string ? I mean I can get the max(screen_w) and max(screen_h), but there's no guarantee that the corresponding resolutionstring would be max(screen_w) +' x '+ max(screen_h)

    - by Dju
What is the difference when encrypting GET and POST data? Thx for answer Edit: i need to write it more specific. When https-SSL encrypts both of this methods, what is the difference in way browser does this. Which parts are encrypted and which are not? I somewhere read, that the destination url is not encrypted in POST, is that true? If it is true and same in GET, where are all the parameters?

  • Unzipping zip archives with JavaScript in Firefox 3.6

    - by August Lilleaas
I am toying with an application that will demo some Firefox 3.6 specific functionality, most of which are listed here: http://demos.hacks.mozilla.org/openweb/ I want to drag a zip file in the browser, unzip it, and work with the unzipped contents. Are there any existing libraries that can do this? Does FireFox 3.6 in particular have something I can use? Or would I have to roll my own unzipper library? For the record: http://github.com/augustl/js-unzip

  • Java vs c++ types

    - by folone
I've recently had a question about coledatetime java implementation, and Chris said, that the problem might lay in type conversions: cpp-float vs java-float (Or maybe cpp-date vs java-date. Not types, but..). Now I have several questions on this: Is there a table of comparison for java vs c++ types? If type conversions is the problem, in my situation (I have a db with OLEDate records, already created with some c++ program. I need to read and write to that db, so that the OLEDate field compatibility remained: my java code reads proper dates, and c++ program is not affected with what the java program wrote to the db.), what would you do: Use COleDateTime to retrieve the date with JNI? Create your own implementation at all costs (using broader types, or anything else)? Is there anything, I'm missing here?

  • How to hack your own website

    - by Saif Bechan
I am in late testing phase of my web application. The application will be tested at a larger scale now. During this time I want to try and hack my own system and application with some tools, scripts, etc. Mostly some code I can try and execute in the browser.
