Force freeing memory in PHP

Hi everybody, in a PHP program, I sequentially read a bunch of files (with file_get_contents), gzdecode them, json_decode the result, analyze the contents, throw the most of it away, and store about 1% in an array. Unfortunately, with each iteration (I traverse over an array containing the filenames), there seems to be some memory lost (according to memory_get_peak_usage, about 2-10 MB each time). I have double- and triplechecked my code, I am not storing unneded data in the loop (and the needed data hardly exceeds about 10MB overall), but I am frequently rewriting (actually, strings in an array). Apparently, PHP does not free the memory correctly, thus using more and more RAM until it hits the limit. Is there any way to do a forced garbage collection? Or, at least, to find out where the memory is used? Thanks in advance, Dmitri

Javascript form validation only works in firefox

Hello, I am relatively new to Javascript so I'm hoping this is a simple mistake. I building a generic form validation function that is called on the form's onSubmit. The function loops through all the form's child elements, looks for certain classes, and analyzes the contents of the appropriate fields. If it finds something missing or erroneous, it displays the appropriate error message div and returns false, thus preventing the form from being submitted to the php page. It works well in firefox 3.6.3, but in every other browser I've tested (Safari 4.0.4, Chrome 4.1, IE8) it seems to ignore the onSubmit and jump straight to the php processing page. Unable to send Url in a Form field

I am facing a problem while submitting a simple HTML form. Here is the form: <form name="form1" method="post" action="dest.php"> <input type="hidden" name="my_url" value="http://www.livrotek.com/book_image/thumb/12726851341.jpg" /> </form> When I submit this form, I get an apache error: You don't have permission to access dest.php on this server. If I change the value of "my_url" field to any value other than a URL, then it works fine.

C# change e-mail 'from' address to a user-provided one.

We have an app that allows users to send e-mails from our system. It allows the user to specify their e-mail address, and gives them several standard templates to use as a starting point for their e-mail. When we send the e-mails, we use the address they provided as the 'reply-to', but the 'from' address of the e-mail (naturally) looks like our system (from '[email protected]'). Is there a way to change this without getting tangled up in spam filters or automatic blocking? We'd prefer not to confuse the recipient as to who actually composed the e-mail they've received.

Robust Way of Selecting All Text in Textbox

I'm trying to have the content of the an HTML textbox be selected fully onFocus. I know the simple solution of putting a onfocus="this.select()" on the component but this is not a good solution because if a user double clicks into the area the selection is lost and in browsers like chrome it is rarely working like it should and just reverts into input form. I have searched on Google for a little while and can't find a good solution, most suggestions are of this simple solution. What I would like it is that the selection inside the textbox not change once selected and if possible the user should not be able to edit the content of the textbox, for example if you have used AdSense when you grab code from AdSense the selection never changes and your unable to alter the code in the textbox. Any solutions would be appreciated.

Javascript Code For HTML5 Form Validation Not Working

I'm new to JavaScript so I have no idea why this code does not work and validate my HTML5 Form like it should. The JavaScript code which can be found below is supposed to check if the browser supports the required attribute and if it doesn't then it will validate the form and check for any empty spaces. I got the code from this website. record mouse movements, clicks and keyboard input with Java or C++

I want to be able to record mouse movements, clicks and keyboard input from a user. It would be great if it was a cross platform solution. I'd like to get back something like this (pseudo code): mouse moved to 500, 500 mouse double clicked mouse moved to 800, 300 mouse left clicked keyboard typed "Hello World" Does either C++ or Java have any classes that can do this? If I was using C++, I would probably working with the QT framework. Edit: I should have said this originally, but I want to record the movements and clicks outside of the applications gui, so on the desktop too.

Mysterious different conversion to string[] of seemingly same input data

During investigation of some problem I found that the reason was unexpected different conversion to string[] of seemingly same input data. Namely, in the code below two commands both return the same two items File1.txt and File2.txt. But conversion to string[] gives different results, see the comments. Any ideas why is it? This might be a bug. If anybody also thinks so, I’ll submit it. Retrieving Data From formData in Rails jquery-file-upload

I am trying to add additional form data by using https://github.com/blueimp/jQuery-File-Upload/wiki/How-to-submit-additional-form-data this tutorial for jQuery-File-Upload plugin in my Rails app. I'm following the instructions for Setting formData on upload start for each individual file upload. My problem is, after saving the files with their titles as explained in tutorial, I cannot show them in the final table, because I don't know how to reach the formData's values. How should I reach the data inside data.formData = inputs.serializeArray(); and post them next to each item ? Thanks.

How do I run Eclipse using Oracle's new 1.7 JDK for the Mac?

I'm trying to get the new 1.7 JDK working with Eclipse (this is Oracle's official release). I don't mean just pointing Eclipse to it so you can use it in projects, this works fine, but actually making Eclipse run using the 1.7 JVM. I've moved the new JVM to the top of the list in Java Preferences, but Eclipse still starts with 1.6. If I disable 1.6 in Java Preferences I get a dialog immediately after I double-click on Eclipse saying "Failed to create the Java Virtual Machine". edit: I added the following to my eclipse.ini just before the -vmargs: -vm /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.7.0.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java Yet in the Eclipse installation details dialog I still see: java.runtime.version=1.6.0_31-b04-415-11M3646 edit 2: here are the contents of my eclipse.ini file: https://gist.github.com/2512578

How to store matrix information in MySQL?

Hi, I'm working on an application that analizes music similarity. In order to do that I proccess audio data and store the results in txt files. For each audio file I create 2 files, 1 containing and 16 values (each value can be like this:2.7000023942731723) and the other file contains 16 rows, each row containing 16 values like the one previously shown. I'd like to store the contents of these 2 file in a table of my MySQL database. My table looks like: Name varchar(100) Author varchar (100) in order to add the content of those 2 file I think I need to use the BLOB data type: file1 blob file2 blob My question is how should I store this info in the data base? I'm working with Java where I have a double array containing the 16 values (for the file1) and a matrix containing the file2 info. Should I process the values as strings and add them to the columns in my database? Thanks

R looking for the wrong java version

Hi, I installed/uninstalled java jre/jdk now many times and finally installed the older version 1.6.0_17 which is now located at "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin". Now after all if I call 'java -version' within R i can see that R is looking for Java at the old path which is now wrong. The question is: Why is R looking for Java at the wrong path even so the windows path is set correctly? There are no double entrys within the windows path as far as I can see and I restarted R as well as Windows more then once since then. Any Ideas where R takes the wrong path from? How to open a selected file in android?

In windows text files are displayed with notepad icon. When we double click the particular file it open’s the notepad and displays the file. Like that I need to open the file from the download folder in android. I have used the intent-filter for register my ics file’s mime type. Is there a way to get the current UIEvent being handled?

I'm working in a class that is a delegate of another class; this other class is in a third-party library that I'd like to avoid changing if at all possible. The original class is handling a -touchesEnded event, and is delegating responsibility to me, but it doesn't pass the UIEvent itself to me. Is there a way to get a handle to the current event in progress? It's a double-tap handler, and all that is passed to me is the view being touched, and the point at which the touch occurred. I want to know exactly how many touches are involved in the event. Thanks! randy

Creating WebService test harness

Hello, I am trying to create a test harness for our QA staff to test our internal web services. I would like to create a web app that will allow them to enter a uri then submit. The web app will then interrogate the uri to get the appropriate parameters expected and returns with a generated input form. I know, this would be similar to SOAPUI and others. However, I feel it would be earier for them to be able to just use a form with entry fields and click a button to invoke the service and get the results back for display in the web app. In addition, I could create some custom logic that allows them to generate specific behavior they need. Has anybody done anything like this? I have searched and have found similar functionality but nothing close enough to help me. If you need more details please let me know. I have a class A { public int X; public double Y; public string Z; // and more fields/properties ... }; and a List<A> data and can build a linq query like e.g. var q = from a in data where a.X > 20 select new {a.Y, a.Z}; Then dataGridView1.DataSource = q.ToList(); displays the selection in my DataGridView. Now the question, is it possible to build the query from a text the user has entered at runtime? Like var q = QueryFromText("from a in data where a.X > 20 select new {a.Y, a.Z}"); The point being, that the user (having programming skills) can dynamically and freely select the displayed data.

How to hide/show div using jQuery without altering dimensions?

I have a div that is holding a google chart: <div id="chart_div" style="width: 600px; height: 300px;"></div> It has one CSS property: display: none. On the click of a button, I would like to have the chart be displayed using jQuery hide() and show(). It's working, however, the chart's dimensions are set to something different than I have specified and refuse to change to what I have specified. Here is my jquery code: $(document).ready(function(){ var chart = $('#chart_div'); $('#submit').click(function(){ chart.show('slow'); }); }); Let me know if theres any more code you would like to see. By the way, the chart div is not being contained in anything else so that isn't the problem.

excluding a column in csv file with regex

Is there any way to exclude/delete/replace one field from a csv file with some regexp in notepad++? I have a csv file with some data like this: '1','data1','data2','data3','data4','data5','data6','data7','data8','data9', 'data10','data11','data12','data13','data14','data15','data16','data17','data18', 'data19','data20','data21','data22','data23','\'data24 with some commas, here and there and some "double quotes", and fullstops.','data25','data26' The only problem I am facing is with data24 WHERE I encounter \' and then "" and some wild characters like , and .. This is particularly fixed at 24 field. For the purpose of clarity, I have entered a newline here. But the entire text above is in juts one line. Any ideas on how to solve? Thanks.

ASP.NET MVC 2 Form Not Passing Values

Hi, I have a strange problem happening today. I am running the latest version of the MVC V2 framework and have been having no trouble at all - I came in this morning and for some reason values aren't being passed in to actions.
