  • How can I merge CSS definitions in files into inline style attributes, using Perl?

    Many email clients don't like linked CSS stylesheets, or even the embedded <style> tag, but rather want the CSS to appear inline as style attributes on all your markup. BAD: <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="/style.css"> BAD: <style type="text/css">...</style> WORKS: <h1 style="margin: 0">...</h1> However this inline style attribute approach is a right pain to manage. I've found tools for Ruby and PHP that will take a CSS file and some separate markup as input and return you the merged result - a single file of markup with all the CSS converted to style attributes. I'm looking for a Perl solution to this problem, but I've not found one on CPAN or by searching Google. Any pointers?   • Sending Javascript variables.

    I have a page that allows a user to choose some things in a form and it will calculate the weight using javascript. It breaks it up into 5 variables that I need to send to another page. Originally I was just having it put the variable into a text box and then I was posting that text box. However I dont want to have 5 text boxes. So now I need to somehow send or post the five variables to another page. Here is my javascript function.   • Is there a way to fix the width of drop down list?

    Here is what I got: <select id="box1"> <option>ABCDEFG</option> </select> <select id="box2"> <option>ABCDEFGHIJKLMNO</option> </select> I have 2 different Drop Down lists. Since the width of a drop down list depends on the width of the longest text in the option, I end up with 2 drop down lists with 2 different widths. This makes my webpage look goofy. What I want is to set it so that both of my drop down lists will have the same width (I'd prefer the width to be very long, so that even the longest item won't be truncated).

    I have the following situation I have a couple of table rows within a table eg <tr><td>One</td></tr> <tr><td>Two</td></tr> <tr><td>Three</td></tr> <tr><td>Four</td></tr> <tr><td>Five</td></tr> Say all of them are invisible Then I have a button to make them visible one by one, so if row 1 is invisible and I press the button then row 1 should be visible, if I press it again it sees that row 1 is already visible then it makes row 2 visible and so it goes on and on and on. How can I do this in Jquery so that jquery can accomplish this task for me. Is it possible?

There is already a different submit button on my current page, so I can't simply make the button a submit button.   • How is this inupt tag linking to another page?

    Response.Write("<div><input type='submit' name='submit' value='Update Cart' /></div>") Response.Write("<div><input type='submit' name='submit' value='Shop More' /></div>") Response.Write("<div><input type='submit' name='submit' value='Checkout' /></div>") that is some example code from my teacher, but he hasn't answered my email in a couple days so I need some help. When you click the Update Cart button it just updates the cart page it's on, but when you click the Shop More button it links to Shop.aspx a different page, and the Checkout links to another page as well. I can't figure out how it is linking just from that code, anybody have any insights?

  • Text Link is Hiding my Image Link

    I have a image where text/link is overlayed on top. My problem is that sometimes the text in the foreground will hide the link in the image in the background. I assume this is because the text box forms an invisible rectangle around the text, thus creating a region that appears it should belong to the image but is actually being covered by the text. I am wondering if it is possible that when I mouse over this region, I will be linking to my image link as oppose to my text link (see illustration). http://jsfiddle.net/WHpMr/

    I'm working on a search functionality for my website and I'm using Bootstrap's typeahead to show the results. So far so good. But what I want is to extend the function so that I could add an image and some other item, say description, etc. According to this post, that is possible: custom typeahead. Basically I need something like this as each result item: <div class="resultContainer"> <div class="resultImage"><img /></div> <div class="resultDesc"></div> <div class="resultLabel"></div> </div> Now it's: <li><a href="#"></a></li> And this doesn't even work with a longer text than the width of the typeahead. So the text doesn't go to the next line and hence doesn't fit the <li>. How can I use the the custom layout I want? (btw I have an array of arrays of results. I have placed a renamed copy of the config.js file in my webroot and call it with customConfig. It is not working for me though. Is my syntax creating any issues?   • Anchors within the document and their position.

    On the following website, www.josecvega.com, I have a navigation bar with years that link to sections on that same page. Unfortunately it is not working they way I hoped, when the user selects a year it moves to the section of the page, but puts that section on the top of the page. I have a fixed div on the top of the page that covers the sections and prevents it from properly displaying. What can I do for this to work?
