  • Ping from specific network adapter on Windows

    Hey, I've been troubleshooting network issues on servers with 2 NICs and laptops with wired and wireless cards. How can I force the PING and TELNET to be sent from a specific adapter? I know it's a trouble with windows. Turning off one of the adapters is not an option, I am always connected through one of the adapters. There must be some command line option to prefer one adapter over the other. Thanks

  • Wakeup on LAN script works from Mac, but not Windows 7

    I have a Linux server on my local network that is set up to use wakeup on lan. I copied this script verbatim, just replacing the MAC address in the example use. When I run this script on a Mac, the server wakes up. When I run it from Windows 7 (32-bit Ultimate) it doesn't do anything (note that the script DOES run, I added a debug raw_input() to confirm).

    I'm using NetBeans 6.8 on Windows 7. Upgrade from WinXP and NetBEans 6.7. Now my existing java web app project is no longer able to import/find the packages I've developed. And yet the project still compiles and runs OK. I've tried changing the Java Platform/JDK from 1.6.0_10 back to JDK 1.5.0_22 but I still receive errors package does not exist. All other libraries and packages are able to import OK ...

    So I just upgraded my system to the Windows 7 RTM, and I've noticed they took away the ability to customize the shortcuts in the Games Explorer. Is there a third-party application that would allow me to customize the shortcuts without having to do so manually? I know how to do it, but it's a pain, and I'd rather have a GUI do the dirty work for me.

The article is in the scopê of MS System Configuration Manager but my client tells me that the logs can be created even without System Config Manager.     I have recently installed windows 8 however i have found that when i try to look through the languages i cannot find the english version so i am now stuck trying to read french until i find out how to do it.     At work and home, I use Server 2003 with Windows Shares. We also have a couple of Netgear ReadyNAS appliances at work, managed via the web interface. Is there a built-in Web Interface for managing Shares, or a free one available - for use in Server 2003 (or 2008)? The reason I ask is that it would be good to manage the Shares via the Web, rather then RDP onto the Server each time - and would allow other users to treat it as a NAS.

  • Windows repair console, impossible?

    I found an old Windows XP SP2 in my -trash- cd can and tried it on a 30 GB FAT32 partition. Installation went fine till the copying operation was completed and XP asked for reboot. After that either it starts over again or throws invalid disk. Starting over is an infinite loop the only way I see is to choose the "Repair console" but I'm not used to a DOS box. Can anyone help me through this harmful installation?

    Hello, I am using virtualBox with windows datacenter to play around with some web development. The last time I had to shut down the computer, it installed an update and shut down normally. When I rebooted, it started doing a checkdisk and processed a bunch of files (from hard poweroffs before mabey). Now when I start, I get a bluescreen of death every time it loads (Safe mode,etc) I have googled around for a boot / recovery disk, but can't seem to find one for datacenter. Cheers -Will

    Has any one got a solution to this problem. I have installed windows 7 pro and installed audio (coexant) latest driver from the lenovo web site but it still does not work. I have seen many similar posts but no solution - just the usual - do you have the most recent driver.... etc. Is there any one that has solved this problem out there?
