It creates a great query among some of the people I've communicated with, and so I myself also wants to know about this.
I wish that this question will create a starting point from where new developers will take home some practical experience.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am trying to determine if my application is closed through clicking the "X" on the windows form, or if they clicked an "Exit" button I have on it. Right now I am using StackTrace.GetFrame(someIndex) to determine how, but i am looking for a more definitive way since it looks like these frame orders arent guaranteed. Is there a better way to make the distinction? This is a .NET 3.5 WinForm, and Im writing in C#.

I'm designing a web application.
I was wondering if it was feasible to design a php front end (using some php framework e.g. CakePHP), which stores and retrieves data to display to the user.
Then develop a java backend which listens to the database for changes, and depending on what was changed, performs some actions and updates the database.
Any thoughts on this type of implementation would be appreciated.

I want to quit application in Android. Just put a "quit" button, which kills my app.
I know I shouldn't do this. I know that this is not the philosophy of the OS.
If you know how it can be done, pls share.
In the app, I have many opened activities, so "finish()" will not do the job.
Thank you for your information in advance.

Regular console application need to be invoked from the command line only from it's directory. Like: C:\Projects\CommanLineProject\MyProjectConsole.exe. I want to use it from the command line from any directory, like mercurial.
Hi guys,
I am here to write a small database application that will be running in desktop (offline mode).
I am using MSAccess 2007 as my database file and trying to write code in vb.net.
I used to write the code vb6 an usually had global variables for storing database connection and executing every query from that.
I am trying to upgrade myself from vb6 to vb.net.
do i need to read some more simple starter books also?
I have a use case where any text box created in the application should be handled and some events should be listened to. I checked the ControlCollection, it does not seem to have a "created" or "modified" events. Also MessageFilter could not receive any create, or destroy events. Is this an optimal way to receive messages or windows hook will be the only alternative?
