  • Is there server-side code which is not cross browser compatible?

    Was there a case in any server-side language where a code did not work in a browser while it did work in the rest? I am asking this because I can't imagine such a scenario because server-side code runs in the server, not in the browser but I have seen discussions where, as said, there were "server-side browser compatibility issues". I can't seem to recall where I have read it. Thanks in advance :)

  • basic JSON pulling data help..

    New to json data and struggling i guess the answer is real easy but been bugging me for the last hour.. Sample data { "data": { "userid": "17", "dates": { "timestame": "1275528578", }, "username": "harino54", } } Ok I can pull userid or username easy enough with echo "$t->userid" or echo "$t->username " but how do I pull data from the brackets within ? in this case timestame? cant seem to figure it out.. any ideas?

  • Rule of thumb for capitalizing the letters in a programming language

    I was wondering if anyone knew why some programming languages that I see most frequently spelled in all caps (like an acronym), are also commonly written in lower case. FORTRAN, LISP, and COBOL come to mind but I'm sure there are many more. Perhaps there isn't any reason for this, but I'm curious to know if any of these changes are due to standards or decisions by their respective communities. Or are people just getting too lazy to hit the caps lock key? (I know I am)

    Hi, Since Ajax requests are limited for security reasons, there's not much to it, just follow the rules eh .. but I've crossed with this : https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Same_origin_policy_for_JavaScript It's written that you can "bypass" those rules, in case you're working with subdomains of the same domain, with the following javascript line : document.domain = "company.com"; I haven't tried it yet, since I don't know if this only works (perfectly works) with any other browser, or at least the major ones. I was expecting to be able to sprinkle NSLog function calls throughout my code, and that Xcode/gcc would automatically strip those calls out when building my Release/Distribution builds.   • .net directoryService returns less result as compared to the CSVDE

    I am using .net directoryService to execute an LDAP query and retrieve the users from AD. but when I run the same query using CSVDE tool , i get more no of result as compared to the directorySerrvice. in both the case, i'm using thesame credential to run the application and CSVDE. does any one have any idea if I need to set some flag or any thing while using directoryservice. any pointer will be helpful.

  • Is there a recommended logging path/folder for ASP.NEt applications?

    Currently we use log4net and create a new folder (usually below C:) with write and create access rights for the worker process user. Is there perhaps a standard windows folder we should or could be using such as LOCALAPPDATA? I'm guessing that LOCALAPPDATA is a bad choice in the general case because IIS users tend to be non-interactive users and thus I don't think they have the usual user folder structrues available.
