  • Can builds be hidden or stepped through in Apple´s Keynote editor so they don't obstruct other objec

    I'm new to keynote and as such have not figured out the correct workflow yet. While the transitions (builds) and actions are nice, how are you supposed to work with several objects if the previously edited objects are still being displayed in the original state, thus obstructing the view on new elements that I would like to display later? Is there a way to step through the builds like in presentation mode?

    This single-command BASH script file is difficult to understand, so I want to write a comment for each of the actions: grep -R "%" values* \ | sed -e "s/%/\n%/" \ | grep "%" \ | grep -v " % " \ | grep -v " %<" \ | grep -v "%s" \ | grep -v "%d" \ | grep -v "%1$s" I would hate having to duplicate lines, or having each comment far away from the line it applies to. But at the same time BASH does not seem to allow "in-line" comments. Any elegant way to solve this problem?

  • Executing Windows administrative shell commands on Windows using Python

    I have a batch script using Windows shell commands to perform several administrative actions. The script is running great on Windows 7 but when i try launching it from Python 2.6 nothing happens: import os a = os.popen("somebatchfile.bat") I assume that this is because the bat file uses several commands that require an administrative privileges but i don't want to prompt to a password using runas.exe or embedding the password within the code. Is there any way to make UAC prompt for user approval or something?

  • How do I allow programs that generate "high" or "severe" alerts in MS Security Essentials?

    Microsoft Security Essentials seems to allow only quarantine or delete actions for program that it deems to have "high" or "severe" risk. However, it also assigns these levels to what it considers to be "hacking tools". Is there a way to override this nanny behaviour and force programs on the allowed list? Thank you.     Hi All, I have a Telerik RadEditor on the sharepoint and iam unable to edit the webpart. How can i edit the webpart, please suggest. The “Edit” option is not visible although i have clicked on “edit page” from site actions. IMP:- the webpart uses 3 images all of which are of size 567X113 pixels.     Two question regarding sudo-login into an ubuntu-system (debian tips welcome as well): Is it possible to require sudoers on my box to only login with publickey-authentication? Is it possible to log which ip sudoers log in from and check that for "unusual activity" or take actions? I'm thinking about temporarily removing sudo-rights if sudoers don't log in from whitelisted IPs. Or is that too risky to be exploited?

  • Mac / OS X Finder regularly jumps down or changes selection in the file list (annoyance)

    I have this annoying problem with Finder on Snow Leopard. Every time I activate a Finder window and for example navigate to a folder, a few seconds later the selection or scroll will jump down in the list. It is like something is changed with the folder and the position is resetted or changed. Anyone know what causes this? Is Finder detecting some constant change in the folder that I cannot see? Folder Actions?

    Hello all. I opened a file using Vim from MinGW's MSYS on Windows 7, and it crashed, and it's left behind a .filename.swp file which I cannot delete! I'm in the local admin group, and I tried following this, in an administrator command propmpt, and that didn't work. Nor did logging on as the local admin and performing the same actions. Any suggestions?

    In XP, I could go ToolsOptionsFile Types and modify descriptions, icons and actions. Does this still exist in Windows 7? I'm not finding anything explicitly saying so, but there are lots of recommendations to download assorted random software to do it. There must be a way to change this without having to use third party stuff?

  • Can't work with server after modifying /lib/libc.so.6

    I have a CentOS server, VPS. After running this command I can't work with server and get the same error in all actions (SSH, Login, ls and ...) The command: ln -s /lib/libc.so.1 /lib/libc.so.6 -f And the error is: /sbin/shutdown: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I have VNC to server but because I can't login to server, that's unusable. This doesn't exist so I'm wanting to create a simple Automator script to do that. But, I'm running into a few problems.   • Excel 2007 save import steps on csv file?

    I have a csv file that constantly needs opened into Excel and then have the data copied over to a separate workbook. I find the process of having to click through all of the dialogs, setting the text identifier, setting the columns to all be text extremely tedious. In many actions with data like this in regards to MSSQL or Access the program will ask you if you wish to save these steps however Excel doesn't readily ask that. Is there any way to get a comparable usage with Excel?

I'm asking because we have several servers where we have no passwords but the shutdown/reboot option is given via group policy on the login screen. This support article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4226 from Apple explains how to backup calendar data by exporting to an .ics file. I would like to automate that process via AppleScript, Automator or any other method (paid software is fine). The sticking point with AppleScript is selecting the calendar on the left hand column. In Automator I don't think the available actions support this level of automation.

    Hello, I'm using this wonderfull piece of software for some time now, but just for few quite basic things. So I'm wondering if these things would be possible: to use different set of shortcuts for different applications - so one shortcut performs different actions in different places. to make some form of modes for application, where you could use some swtch (vim style) and this would change things the shortucat would do if it would be possible to place some caption that indicates which mode you are using - little improvement of previous item I tkank everyone for answer.
