  • Automatic logout in python web app

    - by Ali
I have a web application in python wherein the user submits their email and password. These values are compared to values stored in a mysql database. If successful, the script generates a session id, stores it next to the email in the database and sets a cookie with the session id, with allows the user to interact with other parts of the sight. When the user clicks logout, the script erases the session id from the database and deletes the cookie. The cookie expires after 5 hours. My concern is that if the user doesnt log out, and the cookie expires, the script will force him to login, but if he has copied the session id from before, it can still be validated. How do i automatically delete the session id from the mysql database after 5 hours?

  • Automatic authentication in PHPMyAdmin

    - by Konstantin
Hello! I have a local phpMyAdmin (installed via apt-get) adn I'm tired of entering login and password every time I try to open it. Database contains no sensitive info, just test tables, and is visible only from 127.0.0.1 I want phpMyAdmin already be logged in as root user with password 1234 (for example) when I open it. How do I do that? P.S. Saving password in a browser is not what I want.

  • Free solution for automatic updates with .NET/C#?

    - by a2h
Yes, from searching I can see this has been asked time and time again. Here's a backstory. I'm an individual hobbyist developer with zero budget. A program I've been developing has been in need of constant bugfixes, and me and users are getting tired of having to manually update. Me, because my current solution of Manually FTP to my website Update a file "newest.txt" with the newest version Update index.html with a link to the newest version Hope for people to see the "there's an update" message Have them manually download the update sucks, and whenever I screw up an update, I get pitchforks. Users, because, well, "Are you ever going to implement auto-update?" "Will there ever be an auto-update feature?" Over the past few hours I have looked into: http://windowsclient.net/articles/appupdater.aspx - I can't comprehend the documentation http://www.codeproject.com/KB/vb/Auto_Update_Revisited.aspx - Doesn't appear to support anything other than working with files that aren't in use http://wyday.com/wyupdate/ - wyBuild isn't free, and the file specification is simply too complex. Maybe if I was under a company paying me I could spend the time, but then I may as well pay for wyBuild. http://www.kineticjump.com/update/default.aspx - Ditto. ClickOnce - Workarounds for implementing launching on startup are massive, horrendous and not worth it for such a simple feature. Publishing is a pain; manual FTP and replace of all files is required for servers without FrontPage Extensions. I'm pretty much ready to throw in the towel right now and strangle myself. And then I think about Sparkle...

  • Automatic database generation / migration with perl

    - by pistacchio
Hi, In Ror or Django or web2py you can "describe" a database (as a set of classes that remaps to tables) and the framework (having being provided with a connection string to the desired database) generates the tables, fields, relations and in the case of RoR and web2py it also keeps it up-to-date (eg, removing a class drops the table, adding a property to the class triggers an "alter table add" etc). Is there any perl module that does the same? Eg, it takes the YAML / XML / JSON description of a database as input and modifies / generates the database accordingly? Thanks in advance.

  • Automatic setting of Local Time zone w/DST

    - by Frode Roed
I can derive latitude and longitude and UTC time from GPS NMEA sentences. Now, how can I automaticly adjust the Windows local time zone on my PC (2003 Server OS), based on this? Also, Is there an easy way of distributing this to clients based on code or apps software? Preferred programming environment is .NET, C# & Visual Studio. I use a GPS Time server (GPS clock with antenna) today, but this could not support other than UTC. I want to set computers in my TCP/UDP network to correct time zone w/DST based on coordinates derived from GPS, so manually setting of all is not required.

  • Git + Capistrano = Automatic Release Notes Generator ?

    - by Matt Rogish
We use git (github) and capistrano (like 99% of the Rails shops out there) to deploy our app to production. What I'd like to do is, after every cap * deploy generate a text file containing all the git commit comments since the last deploy. I can then take that list of commit comments, clean it up, and put it somewhere for consumption. "git log" http://book.git-scm.com/3_reviewing_history_-_git_log.html has plenty of options for fetching log messages, but I don't see an easy way in capistrano to return the current and previous commits, or even the last date/time a deployment occurred, so I can pass that to git log Thoughts? I can't be the first one doing this... Thanks!

  • Windows Azure - Automatic Load Balancing - partitioning

    - by veda
I was going through some videos. I found that Windows Azure will group the blobs into partitions based on the partition key and will Automatically Load Balance these partitions on their servers. The partition key for a blob is blob name. Using the blob name, azure will automatically do partitions. Now, My question is that Can I able to make the azure to do partitions based on the Container Name. I wanted my partition key to be container name. For example, I have a storage account. In that I have 2 containers named container1 and container2. In container1, I have 1000 files named 1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt, ......., 501.txt, 502.txt, ..... 999.txt, 1000.txt and in container2, I have another 1000 files named 1001.txt, 1002.txt, 1003.txt, ......., 1501.txt, 1502.txt, ..... 1999.txt, 2000.txt Now, Will Windows Azure will generate 2000 partitions based on the blob name and serve me through several servers??? Won't it be better if Azure partitions based on the Container name? container1 on one server and conatiner2 on another.

  • Automatic Deployment of Windows Application

    - by dileepkrishnan
Hi, We have setup continuos integration in our development environment using SVN, CC.Net, MSBuild and Nunit. Now, we want to automate the process of moving (copying) builds from one stage to another like this: Whenever a new build succeeds in Dev, that should be copied automatically to the QA server (a folder on the QA server, to be exact) Whenever a QA build succeeds tests in QA, that QA build should be copied to the UAT server (a folder on the UAT server, to be exact). This should be implemented as a process (a CC task, for example) which we can start when QA succeeds. Whenever a UAT build succeeds tests in UAT, that should be copied to the PROD server (a folder on the PROD server, to be exact). This should be implemented as a process (a CC task, for example) which we can start when UAT succeeds. How do I implement this? Can this be done using CC.Net alone? Or, can this be done using MSBuild? Or, do I need to employ both? Please advise what exactly needs to be done. Thanks Dileep Krishnan

  • Sphinx autodoc is not automatic enough

    - by Cory Walker
I'm trying to use Sphinx to document a 5,000+ line project in Python. It has about 7 base modules. As far as I know, In order to use autodoc I need to write code like this for each file in my project: .. automodule:: mods.set.tests :members: :show-inheritance: This is way too tedious because I have many files. It would be much easier if I could just specify that I wanted the 'mods' module to be documented. Sphinx could then recursively go through the module and make a page for each submodule. Is there A feature like this? If not I could write a script to make all the .rst files, but that would take up a lot of time.

  • automatic push to CDN deployment strategy

    - by imanc
Does anyone have ideas for a strategy to push content to a CDN upon deployment? The key issue I'm facing is that we have a site that is available in various contexts: local development, development server, staging, then finally live. The liver version of the site needs to load assets from a domain, which will be pointed to a CDN: assets.domain.com. However, we will have numerous references to the assets pointing to a relative folder, e.g. /images/ in css, possibly in js, and in HTML & source. Our new site will use capistrano for deployment and it may be that we can hook in another build tool (apache ant?) or some custom script to search / replace paths. I am wondering if anyone has had to deal with this issue before and what solutions you put in place to automate managing the CDN in terms of pushing content up to the CDN and managing html & css references to assets in the CDN. Thanks Imanc

  • Automatic web browsing for windows phone

    - by Elias
There's a website (telephonic company) where I get a statistic information about the amount of data transferred by my phone during the current month. To access that information, I need: * Access the website and login with username and passwod (html form) * Then choose an option in a combo box (html select) * And finally click on a link that shows the information (html a) I want to develop an app that does all this process automatically, and shows only the statistic data. There's a way to do this in C#?

  • a script translatable to JavaScript with callback-hell automatic avoider :-)

    - by m1uan
I looking for "translator" for JavaScript like already is CoffeScript, which will be work for example with forEach (inspired by Groovy) myArray.forEach() -> val, idx { // do something with value and idx } translate to JavaScript myArray.forEach(function(val, idx){ // do something with value and idx }); or something more usefull... function event(cb){ foo()-> err, data1; bar(data1)-> err, data2; cb(data2); } the method are encapsulated function event(cb){ foo(function(err,data1){ bar(data1, function(err, data2) { cb(data2); }); }); } I want ask if similar "compiler" to JavaScript like this even better already doesn't exists? What would be super cool... my code in nodejs looks mostly like this :-) function dealer(cb){ async.parallel([ function(pcb){ async.watterfall([function(wcb){ first(function(a){ wcb(a); }); }, function(a, wcb){ thirt(a, function(c){ wcb(c); }); fourth(a, function(d){ // dealing with “a” as well and nobody care my result }); }], function(err, array_with_ac){ pcb(array_with_ac); }); }, function(pcb){ second(function(b){ pcb(b);}); }], function(err, data){ cb(data[0][0]+data[1]+data[0][1]); // dealing with “a” “b” and “c” not with “d” }); } but, look how beautiful and readable the code could be: function dealer(cb){ first() -> a; second() -> b; third(a) -> c; // dealing with “a” fourth(a) -> d; // dealing with “a” as well and nobody care about my result cb(a+b+c); // dealing with “a” “b” and “c” not with “d” } yes this is ideal case when the translator auto-decide, method need to be run as parallel and method need be call after finish another method. I can imagine it's works Please, do you know about something similar? Thank you for any advice;-)

  • Is there value in unit testing auto implemented properties

    - by ahsteele
    It seems exceptionally heavy handed but going by the rule anything publicly available should be tested should auto-implemented properties be tested? Customer Class public class Customer { public string EmailAddr { get; set; } } Tested by [TestClass] public class CustomerTests : TestClassBase { [TestMethod] public void CanSetCustomerEmailAddress() { //Arrange Customer customer = new Customer(); //Act customer.EmailAddr = "[email protected]"; //Assert Assert.AreEqual("[email protected]", customer.EmailAddr); } }

  • Finding the methods/properties on a swf object

    - by Jones
I have a swf object embedded into a web page. Without having access to the source code of the swf file, how can I find the methods/properties that are exposed? For example... alert(document.getElementById('swfObject').id); ...returns a pop-up of "swfObject". And this... document.getElementById('swfObject').someMethod(); ...executes someMethod. Thanks.

  • MySQL: automatic rollback on transaction failure

    - by praksant
Is there any way to set MySQL to rollback any transaction on first error/warning automatically? Now if everything goes well, it commits, but on failure it leaves transaction open and on another start of transaction it commits incomplete changes from failed transaction. (I'm executing queries from php, but i don't want to check in php for failure, as it would make more calls between mysql server and webserver.) Thank you

  • How do I turn off automatic saving of a vim file with a ~ suffix

    - by Leonard
In my environment, I share vim configuration with other developers (and have my own configuration additions as well) in various .vimrc files. Some places in the environment, I edit a file in vim and automagically a copy of that file with a trailing tilde suffix appears. What vim options control this? I'd like to turn the feature off, as it just clutters up my directories and spoils auto-completion on the command line. Thanks.

  • dealloc properties with assign and readwrite objective-c

    - by okami
I have this structure: @interface MyList : NSObject { NSString* operation; NSString* link; } @property (readwrite) NSString* operation; @property (readwrite, assign) NSString* link; @end @implementation MyList @synthesize operation, link; @end I know that if I had retain instead of readwrite I should release the operation and link properties. BUT should I release the operation and link with the code above?
