  • How to generate function call graphs for JavaScript?

    - by Jeremy Rudd
Are there softwares that can generate graphs that show which functions call which functions? I need to analyze JavaScript source code, a language which Doxygen/Graphviz does not support, though it does support C++ and others. If there are no tools that support JavaScript out-of-the-box, is there a way to convert JS to C++ so I can use Doxygen itself?

  • Call task more than once in Rails 3 generator

    - by balexand
I'm writing a Rails 3 generator that creates two different models. Here's a very simplified example of what I'm trying to do: def my_generator_task invoke "model", ["foo"] invoke "model", ["bar"] end The problem is that the Thor invoke method only invokes a task once, so the second call to the "model" task never happens and the "bar" model is never created. Does anyone know an elegant way to accomplish this, preferably in a way that doesn't break the ability to run "rails destroy" with the generator?

  • Objective C: Initalizing static variable with static method call

    - by adranale
The Compiler claims an error saying: "initializer element is not constant", when I try to initialize a static variable inside a method with a call to a static method (with + in its definition). Anyway I can tell him that this method always returns the same value. I know this is not the same as static method, but there seems to be no constant methods in Objective-C (other than macros which won't work here because I am calling UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() from inside the method).

  • Call child's method or cast parent to child in Rails

    - by Brian
I have some STI structure like following: class Box has_many :part,:class_name = "Part" end class Part def self.dosomething() end end class TypeA class TypeB assuming we have some codes like boxtypeA = Box.new. I am wondering if there is a way to make boxtypeA.part.dosomething() to call TypeA's method not Part's or TypeB's. I think basically what we need to do is to convert the part to TypeA, how can we achieve that? Thx in advance!

  • When to call release on NSURLConnection delegate?

    - by Kieran H
Hi, When passing a delegate to the a NSUrlConnection object like so: [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:handler]; when should you call release on the delegate? Should it be in connectionDidFinishLoading? If so, I keep getting exec_bad_access. I'm seeing that my delegates are leaking through instruments. Thanks

  • jQuery .ajax call to bit.ly returns results in IE but not FF or Chrome

    - by Ian Quigley
I am trying to call to the bit.ly URL shortening service using jQuery with an .ajax call. <html><head> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.twipler.com/settings/scripts/jquery.1.4.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery.fn.shorten = function(url) { var resultUrl = url; $.ajax( { url: "http://api.bit.ly/shorten?version=2.0.1&login=twipler&apiKey=R_4e618e42fadbb802cf95c6c2dbab3763&longUrl=" + url, async: false, dataType: 'json', data: "", type: "GET", success: function (json) { resultUrl = json.results[url].shortUrl; } }); return resultUrl; } ; </script></head><body> <a href="#" onclick="alert($().shorten('http://amiconnectedtotheinternet.com'));"> Shorten</a> </body> </html> This works in IE8 but does not work in FireFox (3.5.9) nor in Chrome. I've tried to set fuction's return value to a variable and iterate over variable, but there seems to be no way to set variable in Django template. Is there any normal way to do it?
