• Easy way to authenticate POST requests from a Google Android client to Google App Engine?

  I'd like to be able to send a POST request from an Android app to App Engine and have it linked to the user's Google account. I read that you need to obtain an authentication token and send it with the POST request. Does Android provide a way to request this token? And how would GAE process it? I feel like this should be easy and I'm missing something obvious. Thanks!

• Mysql concurrency: what happens if a locked table is accessed?

  the question is rather simple but I couldn't find a precise answer: in a myisam db, what happens if a php file locks a table (with an atomic operation, say an INSERT) and another php file tries to access the same table (reading or writing)? Now, while it is obvious that the second session will not be able to access the table, what exactly happens? Does it return some kind of error? Does is wait in queue until it is able to access it?   I'm trying to send an ActionSheet a variable from a button. I can't use the tag property because its being used for something else. I've declared myIndexRow as an instance variable and have: NSInteger myIndexRow = indexPath.row; [deleteButton addTarget:self action:@selector(showDeleteSheet:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; deleteButton.myIndexRow = myIndexRow; but I'm getting the 'Request for member 'myRow' is something not a structure or union' There is something obvious I am missing here.

  The iOS project is using Base Localization with localizable strings set up for the Storyboard in English and German. Everything is working properly when I change the language for the simulator, but some of the text is getting truncated in German. I would like to view the German text in Interface builder so that it's easier to fix the constraints on the text labels and fields. It seems like this should just be a view setting or something, but I can't seem to find anything obvious.

  In my view, if I have a situation where I need to use a dynamic method (such as Domain.findByName("name")) in multiple places, would it be better to define a variable with and refer to that, rather than have the dynamic method in multiple places? I know this seems like an obvious answer, but I just wanted to make sure Grails doesn't cache it or something, and indeed two DB calls are being made.

  We are moving from WebForms to MVC and and using a lot of jQuery. I appears we have a lot of jQuery/JavaScript in our Views, is this common and are there any concerns about security. The obvious step is to refactor into plugins and more generic UserControls etc, but this jQuery would still be "visible" by looking at js files etc. We are validating everything on the server-side anyway but should we be concerned?

• SVN: Prevent a newer client from upgrading a working copy's SVN version?

  Is it possible to prevent a newer SVN client (say 1.6) from automatically upgrading a working copy that was checked out with an older client (say 1.4 or 1.5)? I find that as soon as I touch a working copy with a newer client, anyone using an older client to work with the same files can no longer do so (for obvious reasons). Assuming requiring everyone to upgrade their SVN clients isn't an option, is there a configuration setting or flag I can set to prevent my newer client from making this change?

  Hi, I'm wondering if someone knows how to store an array into a user session? This is the method to store a single attribute: $this->getUser()->setAttribute('something', $something); And the documentation says: "User attributes can store any type of data (strings, arrays, and associative arrays)" ... but doesn't say anything more. The API documentation doesn't have a "SetAttributes" or something similarly obvious. Thank you.
