  • Why won't Outlook sync with Google Calendar?

    A colleague of mine is having problems with Outlook and Google Calendar Sync. He got a new machine and set up Outlook 2007 on that machine. He also installed Google Calendar Sync. However, when he synced Outlook with Google Calendar, he got a number of duplicate entries in Outlook's calendar. We tried deleting all entries in the Outlook calendar and doing a 1-way sync from Google Calendar to Outlook, but the duplicated entries appeared again. We ultimately removed the duplicated entries manually, but we experienced problems pushing the changes back to Google Calendar, so we deleted the calendar in Google Calendar and tried to sync again (using a 1-way sync from Outlook to Google). Now Google Calendar Sync says that it is synchronizing, but no entries appear in the Google Calendar calendar. What could the problem be?

  • firefox sync not working. tried everything I could think of.

    I had to format my computer once again. But this time when trying to get all my firefox data from the sync server, nothing happened :( I've tried updating firefox. reconnecting to the sync server a couple of times. But as the title says, nothing has happened. I fear that somehow all my data has been whiped, but I have no clue why it should have done that. I think my old FF was running v4b7, but I can't say for sure. Please help! I also tried posting on the firefox forums. But I must say they don't work very well. It doesn't seem like my question even have been posted.

  • 1 iPhone, 2 (potentially 3) Macs......& Google Apps Sync?!

    Currently I use a beast of a G5 Mac at work for all my software/web development, an iMac G5 at home for personal use & a MacBook Pro for when i'm on the go. At work we make heavy use of all the Google Apps features such as calendar & docs etc. We all have an address book (local mac application) that gets synced with a list of contacts stored on our mail server. I want to be able to integrate the Google Apps calendar with my iPhone calendar (or even just iCal - which i can then sync to the iPhone). Essentially I want all three Macs to have the Google calendar synced to their version of iCal including the iPhone. I've heard that Google Sync handles something along these lines but i'm unsure if it's going to fulfill my needs? I'm trying my best to avoid having to use MobileMe..... Help greatly appreciated, Kind regards

  • How do you get more space on Live Mesh/Live Sync? [closed]

    I'm looking into corporate data backs for my company's dealers. each dealership will have data back up demands ranging from 100mb to 20gb. We are an entirely Microsoft solution so when I was asked to look into back ups, of course I would look to Micro$oft. even if we have too buy this space, is there a way to get more space on Live Mesh/Live Sync (Live Mync hehe)? The 5 gb that Mesh provides or the 2gb that Sync provides isn't enough for our larger dealerships. The 25gb that SkyDrive provides is probably enough for now, but I don't know if it will be in the future. However, SkyDrive is not automatically synced. So it isn't a viable option anyway.

  • How to sync bookmarks between Firefox, Chrome, and Safari on multiple computers?

    There are some similar question on bookmark syncing, but most answers point to Delicious or Google bookmarks. However, as Chrome doesn't have the Google toolbar, how would those sync? I use several computers and different browsers on them so I would like a easy solution to keep all of the bookmarks in sync on various computers and browsers in the same organizational structure throughout. Also, I would prefer to have my bookmarks only synced to my account, not necessarily visible to the whole world as on Delicious. Is there any service that could handle this?

  • Is it safe to sync a Firefox instance in both directions?

    Hello, everyone! I want to use some tool (not decided yet, which one) to sync a Firefox instance (more exact: user directory) between two machines. (EDIT: I want really to sync everything in the user-directory) Would you assume, that this is safe? What would happen, if some files are newer on the one machine, and some other files are newer on the other machine? Could this lead to inconsistencies, when, let's say, there are some inter-file references? If general, I don't have good experience with syncing application in both directions. Most applications seem not to be suited for this.

  • A specific user is unable to log in to vsftpd

    I am setting up a new user let his name be ftpguy. He has access to only one directory /var/www/xxx. I have already chowned the directory so that he has write and read privileges. The user is also unable to login via ssh as I have disabled that by changing his shell to /sbin/nologin. Also, in vsftpd config, I have enabled the chroot_local_user. Now whenever I log in from ftp, i get an auth error. Connect socket #1008 to xxxxxxxx, port 21... 220 Welcome to blah FTP service. USER ftpguy 331 Please specify the password. PASS **** 530 Login incorrect. I changed the password to something different several times, using the passwd command, nothing happens, i still the above error. However I am able to log in with my ssh creditals to my ftp server without any problems.(I do not use a key).

  • Port 21 will not open. status is closed. forward port 21 to new domains.

    I am having a problem opening port 21 on my Linux Ubuntu server. No matter what i do, i can not get my status to change from closed to open. Here is a recent iptables command i used and the result iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 21 -j ACCEPT nmap -p21-22,25,80,443 CCR1 Starting Nmap 4.53 ( http://insecure.org ) at 2012-06-19 03:13 CDT Interesting ports on CCR1.chennaichristianradio.com (5.10.69.98): PORT STATE SERVICE 21/tcp closed ftp 22/tcp open ssh 25/tcp closed smtp 80/tcp open http 443/tcp closed https I also used commands from the advise from this forum http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/iptables-open-ftp-port-21/ I need to open this for FTP access to the server, and ultimately I need to forward port 21 to 2 domains i am setting up.     Customers who have integrated Oracle Payments with Chase Paymentech payment system are being contacted by Paymentech informing them about the impending desupport of standard File Transfer Protocol (FTP).  Customers are being advised to look for alternate protocol to connect to Paymentech for credit card and direct debit payment processing.  Oracle Payments product management and development is aware of Paymentech PTK decomissioning FTP after July 2014. They are currently evaluating using SFTP as an alternative.  Please monitor Doc ID 1586425.1 for the latest updates.

  • Can't sync music on Nexus 4 with rhythmbox

    My LG Nexus 4 phone running Andriod 4.4.3 will not sync music with rhythmbox, banshee, or clementine with my laptop running Ubuntu 14.04. When attached via USB2 or USB3 I can mount the file system on the phone without issue and can manually transfer files but attempting to sync my nexus with any of the three music players I listed causes them to crash. I realize it is probably some mtp issue. But I cannot figure out why the music players cannot connect to my nexus and nautilus has no problem doing so.

  • Limit vsftp upload to a given set of file-names

    I need to configure an anonymous ftp with upload. Given this requirement I try to lock this server down to the bear minimum. One of the restrictions I wish to impose is to enable the upload of only a given set of file-names. I tried to disallow write permission to the upload folder, and put in it some empty files with write permission: /var/ftp/ [root.root] [drwxr-xr-x] |-- upload/ [root.root] [drwxr-xr-x] | |-- upfile1 [ftp.ftp] [--w-------] | `-- upfile2 [ftp.ftp] [--w-------] `-- download/ [root.root] [drwxr-xr-x] `-- ... But this approach didn't work because when I tried to upload upfile1, it tried to delete and create a new file in its' place, and there is no permissions for that. Is there a way to make this work, or perhaps use a different approach like abusing the deny_file option?

  • LFTP when used with proxies doesn't work

    can't seem to use LFTP with proxies that require authentification correctly on my Ubuntu server. When I use it with proxy that doesn't require username/password everything seems fine: lftp lftp :~> set http:proxy http://HOST:PORT lftp :~> set ftp:proxy http://HOST:PORT lftp :~> open username:password@some.ftp.site.com lftp username@some.ftp.site.com:~> get file.ext file.ext 36352 bytes transferred in 10 seconds (3.5K/s) lftp username@some.ftp.site.com:~> exit but when I have to put username/password there is a problem: lftp lftp :~> set http:proxy http://proxylogin:proxypass@HOST:port lftp :~> set ftp:proxy http://proxylogin:proxypass@HOST:port lftp :~> open ftp://ftpuser:[email protected] answer: cd: Access failed: 401 Authentication Required (~) please someone help!
