  • Convert FAT32 to NTFS, risk/time?

    After a quick search I found that through a command prompt I can convert a drive from FAT32 to NTFS without losing data(see here). What I want to ask here is, how safe is this method on a 1.5 TB drive with 500 GB of data? What are the chances of this freezing up(or is there really nothin to worry about) and what is the probable time, a couple of minutes or a whole hour? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, just want to play on the safe side here ...

    I would like to convert a sound file (from a digital voice recorder) with the extension .voc to an .mp3 file or some other common sound files. I am on Windows 7 64 bit. I have tried the program voc2wav but it gives me an error message saying that the program isn't 64 bit. The program has to be free and able to run without installing. (The voice recorder did come with a program that I could install, but I would like to avoid that).

(Its an 8 hour long file, first program only converted it to a 1 hour long mp3, and the 2nd converted it to 5 hrs long, but with 3 hrs still missing). Is there a reliable program for converting them that i can use?

I found that there is no programmatic way to do it, i create Dictionary<char, string>. To convert (+ capitals): é, à, è, ù, â, ê, î, ô, û, ë, ï, ü, ÿ, ç. and any other you suggest! Like, it would take input of the filename and base font-size (default 16) and convert all px instances to em? eg: convertpx2ems --file stylesheet.css --base-font-size 16 would convert this: button { font-size:14px; padding:8px 19px 9px; } to something like this: button { font-size: .875em; padding: .5em 1.188em .563em; } ...maybe, is there a way to do this with sass?

  • Issue with converting PDF pages to images with ImageMagick's convert (and PHP)

    I'm trying to create a small web service to convert PDF files to a series of images. When I run convert /full/path/to/source.pdf full/path/to/target.jpg when connected to the (shared hosting, Linux) server via ssh, everything works correctly. When executing the same command through PHP's exec() function, only the first few pages of the PDF file get converted. Sometimes the remaining pages are 0-length jpg files, sometimes they don't appear at all. Also, the bottom area of the first pages is sometimes black, as if convert stopped half-way on the page. What could be causing this problem?

I can't convert the string into integer because it's resulting me into a boolean (when I'm using var_dump). I can convert the other integer in string, but I'm unable to multiply it.     I have a need to convert a string value in the form "YYYYMMDDHHMMSS" to a DateTime. But not sure on how, may be a DateTime.Tryparse can be used to make this happen. Or is there any other way to do it. I can do this using some string operations to take "YYYYMMDD" alone, convert to a datetime and then add HH, MM, SS separately to that DateTime. But is there any DateTime.TryParse() methods that I can use in one line to convert a "YYYYMMDDHHMMSS" format string value to a DateTime value?

    I have came across this problem a few times and can't seem to figure out a simple solution. Say I have a string string = "a=0 b=1 c=3" I want to convert that into a dictionary with a, b and c being the key and 0, 1, and 3 being their respective values (converted to int). Obviously I can do this: list = string.split() dic = {} for entry in list: key, val = entry.split('=') dic[key] = int(val) But I don't really like that for loop, It seems so simple that you should be able to convert it to some sort of list comprehension expression. And that works for slightly simpler cases where the val can be a string. dic = dict([entry.split('=') for entry in list]) However, I need to convert val to an int on the fly and doing something like this is syntactically incorrect. dic = dict([[entry[0], int(entry[1])] for entry.split('=') in list]) So my question is: is there a way to eliminate the for loop using list comprehension? If not, is there some built in python method that will do that for me?

    hi there for some reason i convert a time format like : 03:30 to seconds 3*3600 + 30*60 , now .. i wanna convert it back to it's first ( same ) format upthere ... how could that be ? My attempt : 3*3600 + 30*60 = 12600 12600 / 60 = 210 / 60 = 3.5 , floor(3.5) = 3 = hour now .. what about the minutes ?? considering the value can be like 19:00 or 02:51 ... i think you got the picture and by the way, how to convert 2:0 for example to 02:00 using RegEx ?   • Mercurial over ssh client and server on Windows

    I'm trying to configure Mercurial for use with both a windows server (freeSSHd) and client (both command line and TortoiseHG). I'm using the most recent versions of everything... all downloaded in the past few days. Using public key auth, I have been able to get connected to the server and I'm able to use plink to execute "hg version" and get a response, but when I try to clone a repository from the ssh server the command appears to hang. Running with -v yields: hg -v clone ssh://<username>@<server>//hg/repositoryA testRepositoryA running "plink.exe -i "<path to private key file>" <username>@<server> "hg -R /hg/repositoryA serve --stdio"" with nothing more forthcoming. Running the hg serve command directly on the server yields an apparently responsive Mercurial server, but the clients do not seem to make any further requests. Running "hg serve" in the repository directory and cloning over http works perfectly. What should I be looking for to help debug this? Is there something the clients (hg and TortoiseHG) aren't sending to continue the request stream? Additional Information: If I change to an invalid repository on the target machine, the appropriate error is displayed, so it does appear that the remote hg is running and correctly evaluating the path. I seem to have it running up to the point where I'm trying to get repositories published correctly. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Mercurial Distributed SCM (version 1.4.3) I followed the hgwebdir guide: http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/HgWebDirStepByStep and everything seems to work great, I can pull and push my local repositories.
