  I've got two div containers. Whilst one needs to be a specific width, I need to adjust it, so that, the other div takes up the rest of the space.   There are a couple of posts about this on Stack Overflow but none with an answer that seem to fix the problem in my current situation. I have a page with a table in it, each row has a number of text fields and a dropdown. All the dropdowns need to use the same SelectList data so I have set it up as follows: Controller ViewData["Submarkets"] = new SelectList(submarketRep.AllOrdered(), "id", "name"); View <%= Html.DropDownList("submarket_0", (SelectList)ViewData["Submarkets"], "(none)") %> I have used exactly this setup in many places, but for some reason in this particular view I get the error: There is no ViewData item of type 'IEnumerable' that has the key 'submarket_0'.

  Just thought I'd ping this community to see if there's any knowledge on this issue. On android phones SMS messages registered to applications also get sent to the device's inbox. However to prevent clutter, it'd be nice to be able to remove app specific SMS mesg's from the inbox to reduce the potential overflow of those messages. Questions on other google groups on getting a definitive answer on a programmatic way to delete SMS messages from the android inbox don't seem to be pressing. So the scenario: Android App startup. register SMS message types X,Y and Z messages P,Q,X,Y,Z stream in over the course of time, all deposited in inbox Android app detects receipt of X,Y,Z (presumably as part of the program interrupt event) process X,Y,Z Desirement!!! X,Y,Z are deleted from android inbox Has it been done? Can it be done?

  I need to load content while scrolling a div, not window. That's my CSS code: #sidebar{ width:30%; float:right; height:455px; } #video_list{ height:100%; overflow:auto; } And this is my html code: <div id="sidebar" > <!-- other --> <div id="video_list"> </div> </div> Video_list is scrollable and the content is loaded by ajax call. When I go to the end of scrollbar i need to load content again. How can i determine the height of scrollable div ? I tried this: if ($("#video_list").scrollTop()==$("#video_list").height()){ loadContent(); } but it doesn't work !

• "not well-formed" warning when loading client-side JSON in Firefox via jQuery.ajax

  I am using jQuery's ajax method to acquire a static JSON file. The data is loaded from the local file system, hence there is no server, so I can't change the mime type. This works fin in Safari, but Firefox (3.6.3) reports the file to be "not well-formed". I am aware of, and have reviewed, a similar post here on Stack Overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/677902/not-well-formed-error-in-firefox-when-loading-json-file-with-xmlhttprequest I believe my JSON is well-formed: { "_": ["appl", "goog", "yhoo", "vz", "t"] } My ajax call is straightforward: $.ajax({ url: 'data/tickers.json', dataType: 'json', async: true, data: null, success: function(data, textStatus, request) { callback(data); } }); If I wrap the JSON with a document tag: <document>JSON data</document> as was mentioned in the above referenced posted question, the ajax call fails with a parserror. So: is there a way to avoid the Firefox warning when reading in client-side JSON files?

• Breakpoints not working in Delphi 6 DirectShow source filter

  I'm trying to debug my DirectShow source filter. I'm using Delphi Pro 6 on Windows XP along with the DSPACK component library. I'm using Skype as my host application, which I set in the Parameters option in the Run menu, for testing my source filter DLL (ax file extension). Skype runs fine and I see a stream of my OutputDebugString messages in the Event Viewer, but none of my breakpoints are ever hit. In my Project Settings I have optimizations off, stack frames on, debug DCUs on, Range Checking on, and Overflow checking on. Each time I modify my code and run a test I: Do a full build Unregister the DirectShow filter (regsvr32 /u) Register the DirectShow filter (regsvr32) Run Skype as my Host application from the IDE When an Exception occurs, the IDE does trap it and pops up an error dialog box with the option to view the assembler code in the CPU window. However none of my breakpoints are being hit. Can anyone tell me how to get breakpoints working? Thanks.

  Hi , I am using Interop.Domino dll version 1.2 in c# application, and using multithreading to access multiple NSF file at same time by creating new session for each thread created (Max 5 threads at a time). For the large NSF files, I was getting the Notes error like memory segment overflow. To overcome this problem, i used Marshal.ReleaseComObject(object) to release the necessary Notesdocument, and NotesView object where ever possible. Now, the issues is like, i am able to access 2 NSF files but the rest threads are going in dll exceptions as few Notes object are getting null. Kindly provide me some help.... Thanks for help.

  I have a program that does recursive calls for 2 billion times and the stack overflow. I make changes, and then it still need 40K resursive calls. So I need probably serveral MB stack memory. I heard the stack size is default to 1MB. I tried search online. Some one said to go properties -linker .........in visual studio, but I cannot find it. Does anybody knows how to increase it? Also I am wondering if I can set it somewhere in my C# program? P.S. I am using 32-bit winXP and 64bit win7.

• No height using Chris Coyier full width hack

  I'm using Chris Coyier's full width hack on a site I am building, but stumped on how I can get the div to have the height of whatever it is containing. Usually I would achieve this by adding overflow:auto to the container, but if I do that it breaks the hack. Is it possible to achieve a height and still use this hack? • Coda-Slider Problem in ie7, need to remove horizontal scrollbar

  Hello, I am having a big issue with coda-slider and ie7. The horizontal scrollbar is unwanted and I cannot figure out how to remove it. Since coda-slider works as one long scrolling div, I could see why this is happening, however, in all other broswers, including ie8, there is no horizonal scroll. Looking through the web there are alot of sites saying "overflow-x:hidden" will work on the body selector in css, however this has not solved the issue. the site is at http://www.clearcreativegroup.com/clear3/index.html Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lets say i have 3 div tags, all are 100pixels wide: <--- DIV WIDTH ---> Text in div 1 Text in div two, it overflows Text in div three <--- DIV WIDTH ---> Now, currently i have this css for the divs: width:100px; overflow:hidden; What i want to do is if the text overflows, it scrolls like a marquee so all the text can be seen if you wait a little bit. • What is the characteristic of spaghetti code ?

  Somebody said that when your PHP Code and application use global variable then it must be a spaghetti code (i assume this). I use wordpress a lot. As far as i know, it's the best thing near a great php software. And it use many global variables to interact between its components. but forget about that, cause frankly, that's the only thing i know. so it's completely biased ;D so just curious, What is the characteristic of spaghetti code ? ps : the only thing i know is wordpress. so, Hopefully, maybe this will help somebody give great answer for somebody who have a little experience on developing full web application on PHP (for example, stack-overflow website)

• Multiplying char and int together in C

  Today I found the following: #include <stdio.h> int main(){ char x = 255; int z = ((int)x)*2; printf("%d\n", z); //prints -2 return 0; } So basically I'm getting an overflow because the size limit is determined by the operands on the right side of the = sign?? Why doesn't casting it to int before multiplying work? In this case I'm using a char and int, but if I use "long" and "long long int" (c99), then I get similar behaviour. Is it generally advised against doing arithmetic with operands of different sizes?

• PHP exec() on windows not working

  Hey, I'm trying to execute a program on windows through PHP, the command is posted below. This doesn't seem to be running through the script at all, even though it works when the command is manually entered into the command prompt. exec('C:\\ffmpeg -i ' . $movedfile .   i am developing an application for android and would like for my users to be able to post some information from my application to their twitter feed. i know how to make this work by building a VIEW intent and forwarding the user to the android built-in web browser (thanks to stack overflow!) However, now that there is an official Twitter application, I would like to be able to use the twitter applications activity (if it is installed) to make the post. However, I can not find any developer documentation on what the Twitter Intent for Android is called. Can someone provide a short snippet of sample code that includes that text of the Intent to use?

  I have been looking for a way to define an autoincrement data type in Oracle and have found these questions on Stack Overflow: Autoincrement in Oracle Autoincrement Primary key in Oracle database The way to use autoincrement types consists in defining a sequence and a trigger to make insertion transparent, where the insertion trigger looks so: create trigger mytable_trg before insert on mytable for each row when (new.id is null) begin select myseq.nextval into :new.id from dual; end; I have some doubts about the behaviour of this trigger: What does this trigger do when the supplied value of "id" is different from NULL? What does the colon before "new" mean? I want the trigger to insert the new row with the next value of the sequence as ID whatever the supplied value of "new.id" is. I imagine that the WHEN statement makes the trigger to only insert the new row if the supplied ID is NULL (and it will not insert, or will fail, otherwise). Could I just remove the WHEN statement in order for the trigger to always insert using the next value of the sequence?

• How do I change apache2 DocumentRoot (default snow leopard install) and not get "You don't have perm

  I'm trying to point DocumentRoot at a directory in my user folder. While I can happily point DocumentRoot at /Library/WebServer/Documents and ~/Sites I keep getting "You don't have permission to access / on this server." when I point it anywhere else. OK, I just found a solution mid-question (stack overflow is just that good) by changing the user/group apache runs under to myuser/admin. I'm sure there must be a better way though. Surely some kind of permissions magic on the directory I'm pointing at?

• Better way to make side-by-side DIVs in CSS

  I have 2 DIV's that I want to be side-by-side under all circumstances. So far I am accomplishing it like this: <div style="float: left"> <table> ... </table> </div> <div style="float: right; overflow: scroll; width: 1000px"> <pre> ... </pre> </div> However, I don't like that I have to specify an absolute width in the 2nd div. I just want the 1st div to be the minimum width to display the table and 2nd div to take up the rest of the space without overflowing. Is there a better way?

• Static/Dynamic vs Strong/Weak

  I see these terms banded around all over the place in programming and I have a vague notion of what they mean. A search shows me that such things have been asked all over stack overflow in fact. As far as I'm aware Static/Dynamic typing in languages is subtly different to Strong/Weak typing but what that difference is eludes me. Different sources seem to use different different meanings or even use the terms interchangeably. I can't find somewhere that talks about both and actually spells out the difference. What would be nice is if someone could please spell this out clearly here for me and the rest of the world.
