• Why can't I save CSS changes in FireBug?

  FireBug is the most convenient tool I've found for editing CSS - so why isn't there a simple "Save" option? I am always finding myself making tweaks in FireBug, then going back to my original .css file and replicating the tweaks. Has anyone come up with a better solution? EDIT: I'm aware the code is stored on a server (in most cases not my own), but I use it when building my own websites. Firebug's just using the .css file FireFox downloaded from the server, it knows precisely what lines in which files its editing, I can't see why there's not an "Export" or "Save" option which allows you to store the new .css file. (Which I could then replace the remote one with). I have tried looking in temporary locations, and choosing file-save and experimenting with the output options on FireFox, but I still haven't found a way. Here's hoping someone has a nice solution... EDIT 2: The Official Group has a lot of questions, but no answers.

• Sort NSFetchedResultsController results by user location

  I have an application that contains some Locations in Core Data, and I want to show them to the user in order of proximity to the user's location. I am using an NSFetchedResultsController to serve the locations to the Table View. I thought about creating a virtual accessor method that returns the location's distance from the user, that would be calculated using a "global" CoreLocationManager, but it crashes with reason: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'keypath distanceFromCurrentLocation not found in entity < NSSQLEntity Location id=4' I also give the user the option to sort alphabetically, so I would prefer it if I kept the NSFetchedResultsController, if possible. How should I do it? Thanks!

• Cannot save model due to bad transaction? Django

  Trying to save a model in Django admin and I keep getting the error: Transaction managed block ended with pending COMMIT/ROLLBACK I tried restarting both the Django (1.2) and PostgreSQL (8.4) processes but nothing changed. I added "autocommit": True to my database settings but that didn't change anything either. Everything that Google has turned up has either not been answered or the answer involved not having records in the users table, which I definitely have. The model does not have a custom save method and there are no pre/post save signals tied to it. Any ideas or anything else I can provide to make answering this easier?

  I have a table in SQL Server 2005 with the following properties: Users (UserID, Username, Password) where UserID is primary key I want to save an array of integer numbers in the password attribute in the Users table. -------------------- 0 1 2 3 -------------------- 1543 6543 7658 8765 -------------------- I plan to save this into the password column. On the other hand I use pictures instead of texts for password and each picture has a code (4 digit) and a password include 4 picture that produce 16 digit.   I am a PHP developer using Eclipse PDT. I would like a timestamp put automatically in my file headers whenever I save the file. Maybe as a replacement of a variable. Let's say I use this header in a file: /** * ${filename} * ${timestamp} */ When I save the file I would this to be replaced with: /** * Myfile.php * 4/20/2010 19:04 */ It would also be ok if there is a macro that would add a line at the very beginning of the file just containing a timestamp. • Edit PDF online and save and form data to server

  Hello, I have some PDF documents which are being displayed in the browser, with some fields already being pre-populated from the database using iTextSharp (we are running Windows Server 2008, IIS 7, SQL Server 2008, and ASP.NET 2.0/2.5 with C#). Our clients need to be able to fill in the remaining fields and save the PDF to the server. I have considered the following possibilities: 1.) Somehow using iTextSharp to parse the form fields, grab all the form data and save it to the database on submit. 2.) Adding a submit button to the PDF itself using LiveCycle with some sort of JS click event to save the FDF/XFDF/XDP/XML data either to the database or to a flat file on the server. I am currently unsure as to what the best approach would be, what would work, or how to implement any of these possible solutions, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  I am looking for an example of how to use the new DataServiceState Save and Restore methods in a WP7 application in order to tombstone a datacontext - I cannot find any examples and the approach I used resulted in an exception this saves the data context correctly PhoneApplicationService.Current.State["DataContext"] = DataServiceState.Save(this.Model.Entities); this attempts to restore it after the app is re-activated var dc = (PhoneApplicationService.Current.State["DataContext"] as DataServiceState).Restore(); but throws an exception An item could not be added to the collection. When items in a DataServiceCollection are tracked by the DataServiceContext, new items cannot be added before items have been loaded into the collection. This is the same exception I get if I try to reload a datacontext that I stored "directly" (without using the DataServiceState.Save method) in the PhoneApplicationService.Current.State. I cannot find any offical documentation on the new ODATA v2 DataServiceState class or examples. thanks Michael

  I have made a Java Swing Desktop application in Netbeans which can play media files I have put the videos in my workspace resources location and in my java program I am calling those media files using an URL which is something like this: C:/users/Dell/My Documents /NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg This works well when I run in my IDE and also i have made Jar for this it works well on my computer but the problem is when i copy this jar file on my friends system the interface is coming but when I click a button to play a media file it says: C:/users/Dell/MyDocuments/NetBeansProjects/Media/src/resources/ MediaFiles/ddd.mpg does not exist So, please provide me a solution of how to set the default path so that when I run a jar file on other systems it should play the media file location I am passing as in my program. How to set the path for the location of media files in program? Update The videos are in the jar file.

  I am trying to emulate the Maps 'Share Location' via email functionality. I have the latitude and longitude of my location and am currently using it to display the location on a map via MKMapView. I also have functionality that composes an email from the app and I would like to include the location in it but can not figure out how to construct a link, using the longitude and latitude. • Unable to edit and save a file on remote machine using notepad++

  I am using Notepad++ 5.3.1. I want to edit and save files on a remote machine(both are running on windows xp). I have granted the access privileges and security permissions in the folder containing the files. When I try to save any of these files after editing in Notepad ++, I get the following error. 'Please check whether if this file is opened in another program' There are no other places where the file has been opened but I still get this error. I was able to edit and save earlier but this error seems to be coming only since yesterday.

• predict location of single-line text from a UITextView

  Is this possible? Specifically, I have a UITextView, and the text is short enough that it will fit on a single line. I want to predict where it will appear, so that (for example) if I wanted to, I could set up a UILabel that rendered the text in exactly the same location. Once I get that figured out, what I really want to do is pick contentInset and/or contentOffset so that the text of the UITextView and the left-justified UILabel will render in the same location. But I figure the above will let me do that. EDIT: In response to a comment, the fundamental problem I am trying to get around is that UITextField does not let you set the location of the cursor. It appears a lot of people have tried to get around this without success. I need to be able to move the cursor -- inserting/deleting text there is not enough.   I'm in my first week of Django development and am working on an admin page that will let me write some quick html using TinyMCE and then save it to the database. I don't need to display this web page on the site or add it to urls.py, etc. The html snippet will be loaded from the database and used in a view function. I've read in "Practical Django Projects" how to integrate TinyMCE, so my question is more concerned with the best approach for the form itself. Specifically: 1. Is there a built-in form like flatpage that works well for this? I only need one field in the form for the html. 2. How do I save the form's text after it's entered? I created a model with a JSONField to save the html in, but I'm not clear on what to do next. Thanks.

• When to save a variable in viewstate?

  Hi, I have searched the web for the answer and saw that mostly variables are saved in viewstate on page.prerender event. However, when I save a variable in viewstate on prerender or load events, how can it store the changed value of the variable? Let's say, after page load, user clicked a button and the value of the variable was changed in onClick event of the button. Then the postback event raised since the button was clicked. According to me, the new value should have been lost and cannot be saved in the viewstate if I save the variable in the viewstate only in prerender event. Shouldn't I save the variable in the viewstate just before the postback event rises? Am I wrong? If so, how can viewstate store the new value of the variable? Thanks for the answer in advance..

• Best way to manage the persistence of a form state, to and from a database

  In a JSP/Servlet webapp, I have to implement a functionality that allows a user to save or restore a form state, that latter containing for instance some search criteria. In other words, the user must be able to save or restore field values of a form, at any time. On the same page that contains that form, there's also another little form that allows him to name his form state before saving it. Then, later he'll be able to recall that state, via a combobox, and refill dynamically the form with the state he selected. I know how to implement that by hand but I would prefer not to reinvent the wheel then I'd like to know if there are some frameworks managing that kind of functionality ? A mix between JSP taglib, filter class, jQuery or other JavaScript frameworks... My research has not give anything yet. Thank you in advance.

• Problems in "Save as PDF" plugin with Arabic numbers

  I use the "Save as PDF" plugin with Word 2007 to generate a PDF document from a DOCX document. It works great except that the Arabic numbers in the Word file have been converted to English numbers in the PDF document. Kindly find two links containing two screen shots explaining the problem. The first image is the generated PDF file with the English numbers highlighted. The second image is the original word file with the Arabic numbers highlighted. Update: Thanks very much Isaac, ChrisF and Wil. I changed the Numeral at word to Context and confirmed that all the numbers are Arabic at the Word file. I still have the problem as the PDF file still have English numbers. (Note: The Arabic numbers called Hindi numbers). I also tried changing the font to Tahoma with no hope.
