    I have this regexp: /(.*)(([0-9]([^a-zA-Z])*){7,}[0-9])(.*)/. Given the following values 0654535263 065453-.-5263 065asd4535263 Expected Results 06**** 06**** 06**** Actual Results 0654535263 06**** 065asd4535263 It does not match the last row because of the letters (I want to match from 0-3 letters) and it matches only last occurence (in the second row in example, it skips first row).

  • PHP Session Array Value keeps showing as "Array"

    Hello, When sending data from a form to a second page, the value of the session is always with the name "Array" insteed of the expected number. The data should get displayed in a table, but insteed of example 1, 2, 3 , 4 i get : Array, Array, Array. (A 2-Dimensional Table is used) Is the following code below a proper way to "call" upon the stored values on the 2nd page from the array ? $test1 = $_SESSION["table"][0]; $test2 = $_SESSION["table"][1]; $test3 = $_SESSION["table"][2]; $test4 = $_SESSION["table"][3]; $test5 = $_SESSION["table"][4]; What exactly is this, and how can i fix this?     I've created some code that will return a random row, (well, all the rows in a random order) But i'm assuming its VERY uneffiecent and is gonna be a problem in a big database... Anyone know of a better way? Could someone provide me an example of classes working smoothly together. I have 3 (maybe more) classes: mysql user alerts As I said, could someone provide an example, so these classes could use functions from each other class, e.g. user could use mysql's functions.     How do I mark a method as "returns an instance of the current class" in my phpDoc? In the following example my IDE (Netbeans) will see that setSomething always returns a foo object. But that's not true if I extent the object - it'll return $this, which in the second example is a bar object not a foo object. class foo { protected $_value = null; /** * Set something * * @param string $value the value * @return foo */ public function setSomething($value) { $this->_value = $value; return $this; } } $foo = new foo(); $out = $foo->setSomething(); So fine - setSomething returns a foo - but in the following example, it returns a bar..: class bar extends foo { public function someOtherMethod(){} } $bar = new bar(); $out = $bar->setSomething(); $out->someOtherMethod(); // <-- Here, Netbeans will think $out // is a foo, so doesn't see this other // method in $out's code-completion ... it'd be great to solve this as for me, code completion is a massive speed-boost. Anyone got a clever trick, or even better, a proper way to document this with phpDoc?

    How would I go about parsing incoming form data where the name changes based on section of site like: <input type="radio" name="Motorola section" value="Ask a question"> where 'Motorola section may be that, or Verizon section, or Blackberry section, etc. I do not have any control over changing the existing forms unfortunately, so must find a way to work with what is there. Basically, I need to be able to grab both the name="" data as well as its coresponding value="" data to be able to populate the email that gets sent properly.

  • Problem with unlink() in php!

    I'm creating a temp image always named 1.png under specific folder and once i read the image_contents and process, i use unlink() to delete that specific image from that folder. But sometimes the image file is not deleted and the same image is file is read and processed. That script is working otherwise fine... There is no permission related issues , as the files are deleted sometimes... Will there be any issue when the script is repeatedly called and the image with the name is already present and not deleted etc.. ???     Hi! I am well aware about error_reporting(0); & ini_set('display_errors', "Off"); to make error messages go away. What would be an appropriate way to do this - for a specific file or part of code only? Surpressing errors with @'s seems like a bad idea since it apparently slows the code down... Thanks!

  • split a string into a key => value array in php

    +2-1+18*+7-21+3*-4-5+6x29 The above string is an example of the kind of string I'm trying to split into either a key = value array or something similar. The numbers represent the id of a class and -,+ and x represent the state of the class (minimised, expanded or hidden), the * represents a column break. I can split this into the columns easily using explode which gives and array with 3 $key = $value associations. eg. $column_layout = array( [0] => '+2-1+18' , [1] => '+7-21+3' , [2] => '-4-5+6x29' ) I then need to split this into the various classes from there, keeping the status and id together. eg. $column1 = array( '+' => 2 , '-' => 1 , '+' => 18 ) ... or $column1 = array( array( '+' , 2 ) , array( '-' , 1 ) , array( '+' , 18 ) ) ... I can't quite get my head round this and what the best way to do it is, so any help would be much appreciated.

    I'm creating a web service that often scrapes data from remote web pages. After scraping this data, I have a simple multidimensional array of information to use. The scraping process is fairly taxing on my server, and the page load takes a while. I was considering adding a simple cache system using a MySQL database, where I create one row per remote web page with a the array of information pulled from it stored as a JSON encoded string. Is this a good enough system? Or would something like a text file per web page be a better idea?

    I have these two arrays: $array1 = array( '0' => 'apple', '1' => '' , '2' => 'cucumber' ); $array2 = array( '0' => '', '1' => 'bmw', '2' => 'chrysler' ); if I do this to merge these arrays: $result_arr = array_merge($array1, $array2); print_r( count ( array_filter($result_arr) ) ); the output would be 4. However, I need to get the number 3. So, when there are two things on the same position (same key) count it only once. Is it possible to merge/count elements in arrays like that?
