    hey i was wondering how i could make a copy of a sqlite3 table and save it to a seperate file in python. im confused as in python your sqlite3 object can only be connected to one database so how would i make it save to a seperate database? the reason i want to do this is in sqlite3 the database file size can never get smaller, and ive made alot of changes so i want just copy this table to another file which wont have all the extra empty space and then delete the origonal database thanks guys

    I've had a bunch of EAGAIN's from trying to fork() or spawning threads, which lead me to believe that I'm leaking resources somewhere. Is it possible, in POSIX, to get the following from inside the process itself: number of active pthreads number of active child processes number of active pipes number of active sockets (or maybe this and pipes would be counted as file descriptors?) Or do these have to be counted manually? There's already counters for them, but I think one of them are leaking.

    Hello Everyone, I have a question but not sure it is possible or not. I am using apache logger for my logging which creates a log file which works fine with no issues.my question is when i open the log file i get the different messages like messages with INFO,DEBGU,ERROR etc. But i wanted to see the error message in red color in text in my logger file.. is it possible? So in that way if some one opens my log file if some thing is there in red they can clearly can guess that it is an error message.. Is it possible..     How can I instruct Eclipse to copy a file from my Android solution to an emulator, as part of Run/Debug? I have a small database, stored in Assets, that needs to accompany the application. Thus far I have simply copied the file myself using DDMS but would prefer to have it automatically included. The project properties allow me to specify some aspects of the build, e.g. the build order and which libraries should be included, but I don't see anything about simply copying a file.

    In my application I can programmatically open explorer and select a file using the following code: void BrowseToFile(LPCTSTR filename) { CString strArgs; strArgs = _T("/select,\""); strArgs += filename; strArgs += _T("\""); ShellExecute(0, _T("open"), _T("explorer.exe"), strArgs, 0, SW_NORMAL); } My problem is that if I call this function a second time with a different file, but in the same folder, the selection in explorer does not change to the new file, but remains on the previous file. For example, if I call my function with C:\path\to\file1.txt, a new explorer window will open and file1.txt will be selected. If I call my function a second time with C:\path\to\file2.txt, the existing explorer window will be activated, but the selection will still be on file1.txt. Is there a way to force explorer to update the selection or a better way to accomplish this?

  • capturing CMD batch file parameter list; write to file for later processing

    I have written a batch file that is launched as a post processing utility by a program. The batch file reads ~24 parameters supplied by the calling program, stores them into variables, and then writes them to various text files. Since the max input variable in CMD is %9, it's necessary to use the 'shift' command to repeatedly read and store these individually to named variables. Because the program outputs several similar batch files, the result is opening several CMD windows sequentially, assigning variables and writing data files. This ties up the calling program for too long. It occurs to me that I could free up the calling program much faster if maybe there's a way to write a very simple batch file that can write all the command parameters to a text file, where I can process them later. Basically, just grab the parameter list, write it and done. Q: Is there some way to treat an entire series of parameter data as one big text string and write it to one big variable... and then echo the whole big thing to one text file? Then later read the string into %n variables when there's no program waiting to resume? Parameter list is something like 25 - 30 words, less than 200 characters. Sample parameter list: "First Name" "Lastname" "123 Steet Name Way" "Cityname" ST 12345 1004968 06/01/2010 "Firstname+Lastname" 101738 "On Account" 20.67 xy-1z 1 8.95 3.00 1.39 0 0 239 8.95 Items in quotes are processed as string variables. List is space delimited. Any suggestions?

  • Hard drive degredation from large memory usage and paging files?

    I've had a question(s) regarding computer degradation going through my head for a while and haven't found many good resources for researching it. 1) First off, when is the virtual RAM/paging file on a hard drive used by Windows? Is it used when the RAM is full? Or does it use the Virtual RAM/paging file as intermediate caching between the RAM and actual hard drive space all the time? 2) If I were to run many applications on my computer at the same time and have a bad habit of doing this for the entire lifetime of the computer, does it use more of the virtual RAM/paging file than if I were to have fewer programs running? Just to note, the RAM never fills up on my computer but it is used heavily. 3) By extension of question 2, if the virtual RAM/paging file is used more heavily, would that result in rapid hard drive degradation? I have seen a pattern among all of the computers that I have owned or used in the past 5 years. I am the kind of person to leave my web browser up with 40 tabs among other programs which will eat up 40% of my memory typically. Over time my computer will slow down, browsers start crashing, programs start seizing up or crashing themselves, eventually the computer becomes essentially unusable. I have been trying to rack my mind to come up with a solution other than to purchase a new PC to have it die on me in the next couple years as well. This is the only thought that has come to mind that might have a simple hardware fix...Windows ReadyBoost...Maybe? I'd like to be able to discuss this so I can learn something about all of the above.     I use the TFS 2008 build facilities. I have a large MSBuild project (TFSBuild.proj) and I wanted to split it into a few files because it is becoming hard to maintain. I found a strange behavior; when I extracted one of the targets (BeforeInitializeWorkspace) to a separate file and then imported it into the main *.proj file, it was not executed. Although, in my MSBuild log, there was information that the target has been imported and overridden, but hasn't been executed. If I have the same target defined in my main *.proj file, it is executed. Can someone explain why the target isn't executed when imported from a file? Thanks,

  • C++ program Telephone Directory from a file

    I am writing a program for a phone directory. The user inputs a name and the program searches the file and either outputs the number or an error because the persons name is not in the file. The program should also ask the user if they would like to continue using the program and look up another number. So far runs and asks for the name and then prints the error message that I put in place saying that the name is not in the database.   • Java: very slow tomcat and too big war file

    I created some sort of RESTful API backend for a mobile app. It's written completely in Java using Jersey as Framework. At the moment no database is used, it's all in the memory, but this is no problem so far (it's only for prototyping purposes). I ordered the smallest package from digital ocean and installed tomcat7. All in all tomcat works, but I have three major problems: 1) It takes a long time until tomcat deploys the app: I deploy it per tomcat manager and it takes about 2 minutes unit the site works (excl. war upload time). 2) The war files are quite big (16MB): I don't know why they are so big. There are no database dependencies and most logic is written in plain java. Okay, we are using jersey, but 16MB are a lot for the logic of a small webservice. 3) I have to restart tomcat all 3 days or so. It looks like a memory leak or something similar. If the app runs for a few days the response time is quite high and the server seems to be frozen. It works again, if I restart tomcat per ssh. You can find my mvn pom file right here. Do you have some tips? Are there good tomcat alternatives?
