• How to pass a value between Silverlight pages for WP7?

  I've got a MainPage.xaml page a Detail.xaml page. I've passed variables to the Detail.xaml from MainPage.xaml by using a static variable and referencing it in Detail.xaml (the detail page is acting like a dialog). However once I've updated the content of another object, I want to call a method in MainPage.xaml to refresh the content of that page using the updated object from the Detail.xaml page. I assume I am not using the correct paradigm for this and should probably be using MVVM or something but I'm not familiar with the implementation and was hoping there was a simple way to do this?

• Wifi interface changes name seemingly at random

  I'm currently having some issues getting a wireless interface to work continuously under an install of Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS. Some of the issues I'm experiencing include Connection will drop out after some time after it has initially worked. Interface will be a different name after a reboot. For example, wlan0 will become wlan4 when using the ifconfig -a command. Ubuntu will take a long time to boot, looking for network adapters. The purpose of this build is to function as a web kiosk in a library. The computer is supposed to boot up into a web browser, and allow for browsing of the catalog. For some reason this interface does not appear to be working as it should. Are there any explanations for some of these problems I'm having, and perhaps some solutions? The wireless card appears as this after doing an lspci ... Ralink corp. RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI In the /etc/network/interfaces file I have the following configuration for the interface. auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wireless-essid UDwireless wireless-mode Managed Thanks in advance for help on this.

• jQuery $.post & $.append & IE6

  I'm having a weird problem with jQuery and IE6. Script works on IE7+ and with all other browsers I have tried it. I can't post the full script, but what it does is this: $.post("file.php",{'foo':'bar'},function(data){ $('#target').append(data) }) When I run the code in IE6, #target just shows ? and a white char with a hole in the middle. I have no idea what this second char is. My initial thought was that this was some sort of content-type problem because the file.php just echoes answer without any header information. I added Content-type: text/html with header() but didn't help. Any suggestions?

Is there any way to extract or pull out the content of doc or docx file into the blogger or wordpress text area. For instance, we need not to select and copy the text or images from doc(x) file. • Ajax progress with PHP session

  I have an app that processes images and use jQuery to display progress to the user. I done this with writing to a textfile each time and image is processed and than read this status with a setInterval. Because no images are actually written in the processing (I do it in PHP's memory) I thought a log.txt would be a solution, but I am not sure about all the fopen and fread's. Is this prone to issues? I tried also with PHP sessions, but can't seem to get it to work, I don't get why..   I developed a web app that responds with data in the format as specified by the client in the HTTP Accept Headers. Everything worked fine while using Firefox, but when I wanted to check my CSS / HTML on Chrome and IE, both of them wanted to download the index page, as if it's an unknown content type. After some research I found this article, which states that IE sends out a lot of crud in it's HTTP Accept headers, amongst others a list of image/* content types right at the start. This caused my web app to try to send the index page as an image/jpeg. So how do I know when to ignore and when to use the Accept Headers?

• Getting the responseText from XMLHttpRequest-Object

  I wrote a cgi-script with c++ to return the query-string back to the requesting ajax object. I also write the query-string in a file in order to see if the cgi script works correctly.   Hello All, Is it possible to switch HTML on click? I have an index page with a large image on the front. Under the image there is four links. When the cursor rolls over the link I would like a small tool tip to appear. Then when the clicks the link I want the large Image to change and some extra HTML to appear over it. (just a small content box) The tooltip I think I have sorted using Jquery but I'm not sure how I can change the image [b]AND[/b] add a small content box over the image. Thanks in advanced everyone.

For some reason, Urban Airship is making each character of the string into its own tag. I've tried to substitute the - for a string neg with the same results. What's wrong?

  The google page speed tool recommends me to set 'Expires' headers for images etc. But what is the most efficient way to set an Expires header for an image? • Video playback with jQuery Mobile and Phonegap

  I'm fairly new to mobile apps, so am trying to knock up a simple video player using Phonegap and jQuery Mobile. The problem is, jQuery mobile appears to be blocking the video playback for some reason. I don't know jQuery mobile at all, but searching in the js for a reference to the video elements doesn't show up, so I've no idea what is blocking it. The code works fine in Chrome and Firefox. There are no console messages in Xcode. I also tried hooking up to http://debug.phonegap.com/ but this gave no error messages either. Any ideas??

• How to handle "100 continue" HTTP message ?

  Hello, I'm writing a simplistic HTTP server that will accept PUT requests mostly from cURL as client and I'm having a bit of an issue with handling the "Expect: 100-continue" header. As I understand it, the server is supposed to read the header, send back a "HTTP/1.1 100 Continue" response on the connection, read the stream up to the value on "Content-Length" and then send back the real response code (Usually "HTTP/1.1 200 OK" but any other valid HTTP answer should do). Well, that's exactly what my server does. The problem is that, apparently, if I send a "100 Continue" answer, cURL fails to report any subsequent HTTP error code and assumes the upload was a success. For instance, if the upload is rejected due to the nature of the content (there is a basic data check happening), I want the calling client to detect the problem and act accordingly. Am I missing something obvious ? Thanks
