How can I authenticate my users via our their Google Apps account.
I also need access to their email.
I've read Oauth is needed but I have no idea if that is correct.
I'm using PHP.
Does the native Blackberry API allow for the modification of any messaging interface?
For example, I'd like to be able to build an app that added a button at the bottom of a received message which says 'translate this'. I've heard that this kind of thing is possible using J2ME plus the native BlackBerry API. Can this be done for all kinds of messages, eg SMS, email and BB messaging?
The translation aspect is not relevant, it just provides the context for the kind of feature I'm after.
<img src="image_that_may_or_may_not_load.png" alt="Show this text if image not loaded" />
Safari doesn't seem to show 'alt' text in case the image is not loaded. I'm not sure about other browsers, but Firefox does show the alternate text.
Its so important to display alt text in email templates where the images would be blocked by the client most likely, atleast until the user accepts to "display images from this user/site".
Any workaround for this?
Thanks
Couple questions.
Should you always completely separate the storage network switches from production switches or are VLANs fine to segment this traffic? Is there a golden rule here?
How do you properly size a switch for your environment based on the specifications the manufacturer provide (Throughput, Forwarding Throughput, Stacking Throughput, Max Mac)?
If you have two switch options and one has a maximum Mac address of 8,000 vs. another with 16,0000. What does this really mean to me? How do make sure one vs. another is sized properly for me?
Besides VLAN and Jumbo Frame support, is there any other "Must" haves for a virtual environments production or storage networks?
There is a wealth of knowledge on sizing SANs and such, but this seems equally important and it's quite challenging to find as much information.
--
Just to add some tidbits of information for the environment. This setup above is referring to the data centers which supports two different locations which have about 100 users between the two in total. The storage traffic will be iSCSI and will be 3 ESXi Hosts and one SAN housing about 2.7TB of data.
Since there is currently no storage network in place (no SAN), I'm having a hard time regarding #2 to really determine what backplane throughput and switch specifications will be sufficient.
Hello I'm new to Joomla and I want to change the way an account is created (in Joomla 2.5):
Change the registation form (remove one or two fields)
Change the registration logic: I want to add more stuff in the sent email (and a pdf attachment) and also i want to call some other functions (or make extra requests), analyse the result and then return the response to the client.
What ways are there?
OpenID providers like GOogle,Yahoo etc also stroes user info like Name,email etc. Is it possible to retrieve it by using OpenID Selector(http://code.google.com/p/openid-selector/)? If yes then how do I fetch it? is the OpenID URL same every time when a user logs in? if yes ten may I store that handler in DB?
I am using PHP.
Hello,
so I'm new to NHibernate and have a problem. Perhaps somebody can help me here.
Given a User-class with many, many properties:
public class User
{
public virtual Int64 Id { get; private set; }
public virtual string Firstname { get; set; }
public virtual string Lastname { get; set; }
public virtual string Username { get; set; }
public virtual string Email { get; set; }
...
public virtual string Comment { get; set; }
public virtual UserInfo LastModifiedBy { get; set; }
}
Here some DDL for the table:
CREATE TABLE USERS
(
"ID" BIGINT NOT NULL ,
"FIRSTNAME" VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL ,
"LASTNAME" VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL ,
"USERNAME" VARCHAR(128) NOT NULL ,
"EMAIL" VARCHAR(128) NOT NULL ,
...
"LASTMODIFIEDBY" BIGINT NOT NULL ,
) IN "USERSPACE1" ;
Database-table-field 'LASTMODIFIEDBY' holds for auditing purposes the Id from the User who is acting in case of inserts or updates. This would normally be an admin.
Because the UI shall display not this Int64 but admins name (pattern like 'Lastname, Firstname') I need to retrieve these values by self referencing table USERS to itself. Next is, that a whole object of type User would be overkill by the amount of unwanted fields. So there is a class UserInfo with much smaller footprint.
public class UserInfo
{
public Int64 Id { get; set; }
public string Firstname { get; set; }
public string Lastname { get; set; }
public string FullnameReverse
{
get { return string.Format("{0}, {1}", Lastname ?? string.Empty, Firstname ?? string.Empty); }
}
}
So here starts the problem. Actually I have no clue how to accomplish this task. Im not sure if I also must provide a mapping for class UserInfo and not only for class User. I'd like to integrate class UserInfo as Composite-element within the mapping for User-class. But I dont no how to define the mapping between USERS.ID and USERS.LASTMODIFIEDBY table-fields.
Hopefully I decribes my problem clear enough to get some hints. Thanks alot!
Hi, I would like to send email notifications to users of my project exactly at 8 a.m,
Here we are using a thread to send emails to the user. I would like to send some emails exactly at 8 A.M. How can I execute that perticular logic in this Thread. Please help me.
Apologies, this is a tragically simple question that will bore most of you.
I need to implement the simplest "leave your email and we'll contact you" web page. The simplest thing I could think of is doing an HTML form which calls a PHP script which appends the data in some file on the server. Easy to implement, but now I'm wondering if it's totally hackable. Is it? Are there obvious better ways that are still simple?
thanks

I am new to this topic of creating a SFTP server on one's computer. I would like to be able to access the folder on my Windows XP computer via SFTP from another computer or a phone.
The following is what I have done so far:
I have installed SSH Windows and everything is setup correctly because I can access it (the folder on my pc) via WinSCP.
I however cannot access it from my phone. It doesn't connect.
The phone can be on the same wireless network as the Windows XP computer, but I would prefer to be able to access this when not in the same network.
Now, from what I have read and understood, the following is the information needed to connect:
1) Host Name: This would be my computer's ip address which I access by typing ipconfig in a cmd prompt (I access this easily on my computer because I simply put in localhost or 127.0.0.1)
2) Port Number: That would be port 22 (I have also added this to my router in the port forwarding section).
3) Username: This would be my Windows XP username. This however is my full name, including my middle initial followed by a period. I am wondering if this is maybe causing problems in accessing it from my phone, since the name has spaces and punctuation (the period).
4) Password: The password of my Windows XP computer
Extra Info: When I say phone, I mean an Android phone and I am using an ftp / sftp app to access my pc via the phone's cellular network (I also tried the wireless, but that didn't work as well). I have tried more than one program. On one program it tells me Connection timed out and on another it tells me "timeout:socket is not established"
Also, I know that I can use the site noip, but I prefer to connect this way first. Also, because I am new to this, I would like to look into what exactly noip is doing and if they would be seeing my files as they are transferred from phone to pc.
Thanking you in advance for your help.
Hi,
I am using Acl9 to manage the roles and I want to hide the checkbox usertype if the user has the role :customer and show it if the role is :manager. I want that just the :manager can edit all the fields and some for the :customer.
Thank you for your help!

I am reading the Head First PHP/Mysql book and they say to store both the user's username, email into cookies and sessions. Is it safe to assume that everyone nowadays accepts cookies? Or should I store both in sessions and cookies?
I am not storing any sensitive data in cookies such as password, etc.
I have kvm guest which's netword card is conntected to the host using a tap device. The tap device is part of a bridge on the host together with eth0 so it can access the public network. So far everything works, the guest can access the public network and it can be accessed from the public network.
Now the kvm process on the host provides a vnc server for the guest which listens on 127.0.0.1:5901 on the host. Is there any way to make this vnc server accessible by the ip address which the guest is using (ex. 192.168.0.249), without interrupting the guest from using the same ip (port 5901 is not used by the guest)? It should also work when the guest is not using any ip address at all. So basically I just want to fake IP xx is on the host and only answer/ forward traffic to port 5901 to the host itself.
I tried using this NAT rule on the host, but it doesn't work. Ip forwarding is enabled at the host.
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dst 192.168.0.249 --dport 5901 -j DNAT --to-destination 127.0.0.1:5901
I assume this is because the IP 192.168.0.249 is not not bound to any interfaces and so no ARP requests for it get answered and so no packets for this IP arrive at the host. How can make it work? :)
info = {'phone_number': '123456', 'personal_detail': {'foo':foo, 'bar':bar}, 'is_active': 1, 'document_detail': {'baz':baz, 'saz':saz}, 'is_admin': 1, 'email': '[email protected]'}
return HttpResponse(simplejson.dumps({'success':'True', 'result':info}), mimetype='application/javascript')
if(data["success"] === "True") {
alert(data[**here I want to display personal_detail and document_details**]);
}
How can I do this?
I have a PHP script that uses standard POST variables like $_POST['email']. When a form on a remote server sends a POST request to my script, it doesn't receive the POST data at all. It's not in $_REQUEST either.
Thanks for any help!
Hello, I'm using php for making queries for mysql. Here is one:
UPDATE `subscribers` SET `curDate` = NOW() WHERE `e_mail` = "$resEmail"
curDate - DateTime type. The problem is that after this query curDate of given email is
0000-00-00 00:00:00
What's wrong?
I have the following class
class Identity < OmniAuth:: Identity:: Models:: ActiveRecord
attr_accessible :email, :name, :password_digest, :password, :password_confirmation
end
I wonder if the above properties are the only ones allowed for a class that derive from a OmniAuth. I wish I could add some more like FirstName, LastName, age, gender, and so on. Do I need to create an other model for those properties or can I just add them to the Identity model?
Thanks for helping.
I currently am working on a web application that needs to collect data from a form and will take the information and put it in a report format and sent it to a fax machine and print it out.
What is the easiest way to do this. I would like it to act similar to collecting informastion off of a form and then sending an email, but I would like to send it to a fax instead.
Thanks!
I've Windows 7 64bit Pro client in a private LAN behind a Netgear wgr614v7 router. I've also a remote Debian server machine outside. I'd like to tunnel all (or specified ports/protocols) over this outside server, so when I'm on the Windows machine and I request serverfault.com it would not appear from the wgr614v7 public IP but from the server.
But it's not only about HTTP traffic, it's basically about everything I'd like to: other TCP ports, even UDP, etc. It must be transparent to the application, e.g. they shouldn't be aware of this. All their requests just appear as being from the server and the tunnel between them takes care about the packets.
I'm aware of e.g. Putty and forwarding individual ports or using it as a socks proxy, however not many applications to support this and the support in windows itself looks non-existent to me.
I might add it should be something "reasonable" easy to set up. I've heard about PPTP but I'm unsure about it's security implications (by design). Should I go for VPN? There seem to be two common solutions for Linux (OpenSwan and StrongSwan), why would I pick the one over the other? I also fear that setting up a VPN might be quite complex, OTOH maybe it's the only sane way to do the things right? Or is OpenVPN sufficient?
I'm seeking for open (source) solutions, what other options to I have or which direction should I head to?
I have created a sequential workflow for use with a SharePoint List. In this workflow i send an email using the SendEmail activity.
Later in my workflow I need to know if the mail was successfully sent, so I tried using this condition:
success = sendEmailStep1.ExecutionResult == ActivityExecutionResult.Succeeded;
But that does not work, any ideas?
I am stuck on how to pass data from one control to another. If I have a listbox control and the Contol Item contains a datatemplate which renders out 5 fields ( first name, last name, email, phone and DOB) all of which come from an observable collection. How can I allow the user to select a listbox item and have the valuesbe stored within a new listbox control?
Is this done through the creation of a new collection or is there a more simple way to bind these values to a new control?
thank you,
I have worked on my Ubuntu Server host for weeks now and I just can not manage to get the virtual machines into the network.... here's what I need to do:
I need to be able to create virtual machines that have IP addresses that can be reached from the outside (192.168 network). I need to be able to connect to the virtual machines through ssh, ftp, http and preferably https, anything else doesn't matter that much.
So far everything seems simple enough and I have a lot of leeway in terms of IP address range and server/client configuration. I have the option of taking part of a /24 net as most IPs aren't used, and if it's absolutely necessary I have the option of creating a new /24 subnet. Also have the option of reformatting and reinstalling OS on the host and recreating the virtual machines as nothing has been done other than trying to get virtual machines to work.
I would prefer if the virtual machines were just part of the normal network which would be 192.168.5.0/24. The host machine has 2 network cards so I don't even necessarily need the Host to be connectable in the same /24 network.
I have tried (I think) just about everything from about 5 different tutorials on bridging (giving br0 the same IP that eth0 used to have (Host is able to connect to VM and vice versa, VM doesn't have outside network access), having eth0 set up like it always was and having br0 have a different IP (same as above), NAT with port forwarding (which I would have preferred not to use but will if it works), turning off one of the hosts network cards and just using one of them, different subnets.... etc. I do know my way around iptables fairly well....
Host is 64bit Ubuntu Server 12.04, using libvirt/kvm.
edits: Local network is 192.168.5.0/24, host has static ip 192.168.5.254, GW .5.1 which is also nameserver. We have a second Local network at 192.168.10.0/24 with .10.1 GW, but both hosts and VMs were supposed to go into the .5 subnet. The .10 subnet isn't required, but it wouldn't be horrible if the Host were only accessible in the .10 subnet.
I've made 2 apps, App A and App B. App A's sole purpose is to allow users to sign up and App B's purpose is to take select users from App A email them. Since App A & B were created independently & are hosted in 2 separate Heroku instances, how can App B access the users database in App A? Is there a way to push certain relevant rows from App A to App B?
I'd like to set up a TCP DNAT from 127.0.0.1, port 4242 to 11.22.33.44, port 5353 on Linux 3.x (currently 3.2.52, but I can upgrade if needed).
It looks like the simple DNAT rule setup doesn't work, telnet 127.0.0.1 4242 hangs for a minute in Trying 127.0.0.1..., and then it times out. Maybe it's because the kernel is discarding the returning packets (e.g. SYN+ACK), because it considers them Martian. I don't need an explanation why the simple solution doesn't work, I need a solution, even if it's complicated (e.g. it involves creating may rules).
I could set up a usual DNAT from another local IP address, outside the 127.0.0.0/8 network, but now I need 127.0.0.1 as the destination address. I know that I can set up a user-level port forwarding process, but now I need a solution which can be set up using iptables and doesn't need helper processes.
I was googling for this for an hour. It was asked multiple times, but I couldn't find any working solutions.
Also there are many questions about DNAT to 127.0.0.1, but I don't need that, I need the opposite.
