• Liferay: Customise the web.xml HeaderFilter added during portlet deloyment

  I need to customise the deployment of my liferay portlet such that the GWT nocache.js files don't get a 'Expires' HTTP header set. My war file looks like this: view.jsp com.foobar.MyEntryPoint/com.foobar.MyEntryPoint.nocache.js com.foobar.MyEntryPoint/12312312313213123123123.cache.html WEB-INF/web.xml WEB-INF/portlet.xml WEB-INF/liferay-portlet.xml ... etc my web.xml is pretty much empty (only has the displayName) On deployment this is rewritten my liferay to have a series of filters in particalar: Header Filter com.liferay.portal.kernel.servlet.PortalClassLoaderFilter filter-class com.liferay.portal.servlet.filters.header.HeaderFilter Cache-Control max-age=315360000, public Expires 315360000 Header Filter *.js This filter adds an Expires header for about 2020 to the .nocache.js js files... the trouble is these files really shouldn't be cached (the hint is in the name :) For development purposes I have worked around this by disabling the filter using: com.liferay.portal.servlet.filters.header.HeaderFilter=false in portal-ext.properties globaly. What I what I would like to to is one of the following: Disable HeaderFilter only for this portlet or war file. I can always add my own expires Add an init-param to the HeaderFilter to match anything other than .nocache.js files Any ideas how either of these things could be achieved? Stack: liferay-6.0.1 CE, Windows 7, java 1.6.0_18, GWT 2.0.3

• Unhandled exception when DataTemplate created dynamically using Silverlight 3.0

  Requirement is to create a reusable multi-select combobox custom control. To accomplish this, I am creating the DataTemplate dynamically through code and set the combobox ItemTemplate. I am able to load the datatemplate dynamically and set the ItemTemplate, but getting unhandled exception (code: 7054) when we select the combobox.   Hey there. I'm trying to create a Regex javascript split, but I'm totally stuck. Here's my input: 9:30 pm The user did action A. 10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe. ***This is a comment 11:30 am This is some more input. I want the output array after the split() to be (I've removed the \n for readability): ["9:30 pm The user did action A.", "10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe.", "***This is a comment", "11:30 am This is some more input." ]; My current regular expression is: var split = text.split(/\s*(?=(\b\d+:\d+|\*\*\*))/); This works, but there is one problem: the timestamps get repeated in extra elements. So I get: ["9:30", "9:30 pm The user did action A.", "10:30", "10:30 pm Welcome, user John Doe.", "***This is a comment", "11:30", "11:30 am This is some more input." ]; I cant split on the newlines \n because they aren't consistent, and sometimes there may be no newlines at all.   I'm having trouble disconnecting from a ftp-server, using the enterprisedt java ftp framework. I can simply not call disconnect() on a FileTransferClient object without getting an error.   Related: Send Email via C# through Google Apps account My question is the same so I implemented Koistya's solution as follows. The heartbreak is that it works beautifully on my dev laptop but when ported to web server it times out with no explanation. My SMTP config is in my web.config file. • Problems with GData Request Token

  We have successfully used GData libraries to access a user's Google Docs. But we encountered problems when many users log in to our site and authorize our web app at the same time or successively. Here's what happens: First user successful logs in, authorizes our web app via OAuth and is able to add rubric (or google spreadsheet). Second user, immediately after first user adds a rubric, successfully logs in then webapp fails on authorize (Token not given. I tried to log it.) Third user fails on login. Fourth user was able to log in, authorize via OAuth, and create rubrics successfully. Fifth user was able to log in but like the second user, gets an invalid token on authorize (Token not given.) And the list goes on. Results were unpredicatable. • GWT serialization issue

  I am having a heck of a time returning an ArrayList of objects that implement IsSerializable via RPC. The IsSerializable pojo contains one variable, a String, and has a 0 parameter constructor. I have removed the .gwt.rpc file from my war and still I get: com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.SerializationException: Type 'com.test.myApp.client.model.Test' was not included in the set of types which can be serialized by this SerializationPolicy or its Class object could not be loaded. For security purposes, this type will not be serialized.: instance = com.test.myApp.client.model.Test@17a9692 at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.impl.ServerSerializationStreamWriter.serialize(ServerSerializationStreamWriter.java:610) I am using GWT 2.0.2 with jdk 1.6.0_18. Any ideas on what might be going on or what I am doing wrong? Here is the code for the Test class and the remote method is returning ArrayList. I started with what I think is the obvious: $('#main-menu li a').on('click', function(event) { event.preventDefault(); var pageUrl = $(this).attr('href'); )}; and have tried find and animate but then I don't know how to reference the article with data-url="http://example.com/about.html". • Extracting email addresses in an html block in ruby/rails

  I am creating a parser that wards off against spamming and harvesting of emails from a block of text that comes from tinyMCE (so it may or may not have html tags in it) I've tried regexes and so far this has been successful: /\b[A-Z0-9._%+-]+@[A-Z0-9.-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}\b/i problem is, i need to ignore all email addresses with mailto hrefs. for example: <a href="mailto:test@mail.com">[email protected]</a> should only return the second email add. To get a background of what im doing, im reversing the email addresses in a block so the above example would look like this: <a href="mailto:test@mail.com">moc.liam@tset</a> problem with my current regex is that it also replaces the one in href. Is there a way for me to do this with a single regex? Or do i have to check for one then the other? Is there a way for me to do this just by using gsub or do I have to use some nokogiri/hpricot magicks and whatnot to parse the mailtos? Thanks in advance! • UPDATE query that fixes orphaned records

  I have an Access database that has two tables that are related by PK/FK. Unfortunately, the database tables have allowed for duplicate/redundant records and has made the database a bit screwy. I am trying to figure out a SQL statement that will fix the problem. To better explain the problem and goal, I have created example tables to use as reference: You'll notice there are two tables, a Student table and a TestScore table where StudentID is the PK/FK. The Student table contains duplicate records for students John, Sally, Tommy, and Suzy. In other words the John's with StudentID's 1 and 5 are the same person, Sally 2 and 6 are the same person, and so on. The TestScore table relates test scores with a student. Ignoring how/why the Student table allowed duplicates, etc - The goal I'm trying to accomplish is to update the TestScore table so that it replaces the StudentID's that have been disabled with the corresponding enabled StudentID. So, all StudentID's = 1 (John) will be updated to 5; all StudentID's = 2 (Sally) will be updated to 6, and so on. Here's the resultant TestScore table that I'm shooting for (Notice there is no longer any reference to the disabled StudentID's 1-4): Can you think of a query (compatible with MS Access's JET Engine) that can accomplish this goal? Or, maybe, you can offer some tips/perspectives that will point me in the right direction. Thanks.

• Manually start session with specific id / transitioning session cookie between domains

  My host requires me to use a different domain for SSL secured access (shared SSL), so I need to transition the user session between two domains. One part of the page lives at http://example.com, while the SSL'd part is at https://example.hosting.com. As such I can't set a domain-spanning cookie. What I'm trying to do is to transition the session id over and re-set the cookie like this: http://example.com/normal/page, user clicks link to secure area and goes to: http://example.com/secure/page, which causes a redirect to: https://example.hosting.com/secure/page?sess=ikub..., which resurrects the session and sets a new cookie valid for the domain, then redirects to: https://example.hosting.com/secure/page This works up to the point where the session should be resurrected. I'm doing: function beforeFilter() { ... $this->Session->id($_GET['sess']); $this->Session->activate(); ... } As far as I can tell this should start the session with the given ID. It actually generates a new session ID though and this session is empty, the data is not restored. This is on CakePHP 1.2.4. Do I need to do something else, or is there a better way to do what I'm trying to do?

  I'm trying to use an image as a button. The image is an oval/circle, so when I set it as the background there's basically a black box with the image on top of it. How can I fix this? • Why does autoboxing in Java allow me to have 3 possible values for a boolean?

  Reference: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/language/autoboxing.html If your program tries to autounbox null, it will throw a NullPointerException. javac will give you a compile-time error if you try to assign null to a boolean. makes sense. assigning null to a Boolean is a-ok though. also makes sense, i guess. but let's think about the fact that you'll get a NPE when trying to autounbox null. what this means is that you can't safely perform boolean operations on Booleans without null-checking or exception handling. same goes for doing math operations on an Integer. for a long time, i was a fan of autoboxing in java1.5+ because I thought it got java closer to be truly object-oriented. but, after running into this problem last night, i gotta say that i think this sucks. the compiler giving me an error when I'm trying to do stuff with an uninitialized primitive is a good thing. I think I may be misunderstanding the point of autoboxing, but at the same time I will never accept that a boolean should be able to have 3 values. can anyone explain this? what am i not getting?

  I am testing PayPal payments through Sandbox. So what do I do: Make a payment from my Android device, using SDK AppID: "APP-80W284485P519543T". Receive RESULT_OK in applicationResult and receive response on server side through IPN service. Now I am taking all responce from IPN and send it to paypal verification sandbox server to verify payment. It cat return (VERIFIED or INVALID). But the problem is that it is return INVALID. • UnsupportedEncodingException thrown when using Resin and Grails

  I've encountered a strange problem in a Grails webapp running under Grails: java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException is thrown quite frequently due to various unknown encoding strings (such as "ISO8859_10", "ISO-8859-10"), and the strange thing is that this is done entirely within the Resin and Grails code. That is - no custom code is involved when the exception is thrown. I'm not sure if it is Grails or the servlet container's code that should handle the exception. But I'd assume that the exception should be handled somewhere and not bubble up all the way to stderr. • [Java] Nested methods vs "piped" methods, which is better?

  Hi: Since uni, I've programming in Java for 3 years, although I am not fully dedicated to this language, I have spent quite some time in it, nevertheless. I understand both ways, just curious which style do you prefer. public class Test{ public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(getAgent().getAgentName()); } private static Agent getAgent() { return new Agent(); }} class Agent{ private String getAgentName() { return "John Smith"; }} I am pretty happy with nested method calls such like the following public class Test{ public static void main(String[] args) { getAgentName(getAgent()); } private static void getAgentName(Agent agent) { System.out.println(agent.getName()); } private static Agent getAgent() { return new Agent(); }} class Agent { public String getName(){ return "John Smith"; }} They have identical output I saw "John Smith" twice. I wonder, if one way of doing this has better performance or other advantages over the other. Personally I prefer the latter, since for nested methods I can certainly tell which starts first, and which is after. The above code is but a sample, The code that I am working with now is much more complicated, a bit like a maze... So switching between the two styles often blows my head in no time.

• jQuery UI datepicker will not display - full code included

  I am having trouble displaying the jQuery datepicker as shown here: http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/ I believe I downloaded all of the proper files, but to be certain, I started from scratch and ripped the demo site. Not all of it, but what I believed to be the important parts. The result is no datepicker to be shown and no javascript errors. • Why can't I access elements inside an XML file with XPath in XML::LibXML?

  I have an XML file, part of which looks like this: <wave waveID="1"> <well wellID="1" wellName="A1"> <oneDataSet> <rawData>0.1123975676</rawData> </oneDataSet> </well> ... more wellID's and rawData continues here... I am trying to parse the file with Perl's libXML and output the wellName and the rawData using the following: use XML::LibXML; my $parser = XML::LibXML->new(); my $doc = $parser->parse_file('/Users/johncumbers/Temp/1_12-18-09-111823.orig.xml'); my $xc = XML::LibXML::XPathContext->new( $doc->documentElement() ); $xc->registerNs('ns', 'http://moleculardevices.com/microplateML'); my @n = $xc->findnodes('//ns:wave[@waveID="1"]'); #xc is xpathContent # should find a tree from the node representing everything beneath the waveID 1 foreach $nod (@n) { my @c = $nod->findnodes('//rawData'); #element inside the tree. print @c; } It is not printing out anything right now and I think I have a problem with my Xpath statements. • What do I need to do to make sure my app launches as Admin?

  I'm writing an app that allows you to script the buttons from a wiimote into actions on your PC. It currently supports all of the features of the main remote control, except for the speaker. Now, I'm running in to trouble when I run it on Vista with UAC turned on. Any time a UAC'd window has focus, my app fails to move the mouse successfully. For instance, when an installer is run, I have to navigate it with the keyboard. Will running the app as administrator solve my problem? (At one point in time, I was able to successfully move the mouse over a UAC-password-entry box) How do I build a manifest that will tell windows to "run as administrator"? How do I embed this manifest into my app, if I'm strongly naming my assembly? How do I sign my application with an Authenticode cert? EDIT: Ok, so after some more extensive research, I have found: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb756929.aspx <requestedExecutionLevel level="asInvoker|highestAvailable|requireAdministrator" uiAccess="true|false"/> However, the article says: Applications with the uiAccess flag set to true must be Authenticode signed to start properly. In addition, the application must reside in a protected location in the file system. \Program Files\ and \windows\system32\ are currently the two allowable protected locations. I have edited the question to reflect the new developments.

  Im having some trouble with joining two tables. This is what my two tables look like: Table 1 Customer_ID CustomerName Add. 1000 John Smith 1001 Mike Coles 1002 Sam Carter Table 2 Sensor_ID Location Temp CustIDFK 1000 NY 70 1002 NY 70 1000 ... ... 1001 1001 1002 Desired: Sensor_ID Location Temp CustIDFK 1000 NY 70 John Smith 1002 NY 70 Sam Carter 1000 ... ... John Smith 1001 Mike Coles 1001 1002 I have made Customer_ID from table 1 my primary key, created custIDFK in table 2 and set that as my foreign key. I am really new to sql server so I am still having trouble with the whole relationship piece of it. My goal is to match one customer_ID with one Sensor_ID. The problem is that the table 2 does not have "unique IDs" since they repeat so I cant set that to my foreign key. I know I will have to do either an inner join or outer join, I just dont know how to link the sensor id with customer one. I was thinking of giving my sensor_ID a unique ID but the data that is being inserted into table 2 is coming from another program. Any suggestions?

• Ember model is gone when I use the renderTemplate hook

  I have a single template - editPerson.hbs <form role="form"> FirstName: {{input type="text" value=model.firstName }} <br/> LastName: {{input type="text" value=model.lastName }} </form> I want to render this template when the user wants to edit an existing person or create a new person. So, I set up routes: App.Router.map(function(){ this.route("createPerson", { path: "/person/new" }); this.route("editPerson", { path: "/person/:id}); // other routes not show for brevity }); So, I define two routes - one for create and one for edit: App.CreatePersonRoute = Ember.Route.extend({ renderTemplate: function(){ this.render("editPerson", { controller: "editPerson" }); }, model: function(){ return {firstName: "John", lastName: "Smith" }; } }); App.EditPersonRoute = Ember.Route.extend({ model: function(id){ return {firstName: "John Existing", lastName: "Smith Existing" }; } }); So, I hard-code the models. I'm concerned about the createPerson route. I'm telling it to render the editPersonTemplate and to use the editPerson controller (which I don't show because I don't think it matters - but I made one, though.) When I use renderTemplate, I lose the model John Smith, which in turn, won't display on the editTemplate on the web page. Why? I "fixed" this by creating a separate and identical (to editPerson.hbs) createPerson.hbs, and removing the renderTemplate hook in the CreatePerson. It works as expected, but I find it somewhat troubling to have a separate and identical template for the edit and create cases. I looked everywhere for how to properly do this, and I found no answers.
