    Lately, I've been opening up several terminals at a time. Having to alt-tab between terminals is confusing. I need something that combines several terminals in just one window. What are good alternatives? Edit: I don't like tabs. I want consoles in 2x2 grid arrangement in one window.

  • 403 forbidden while submitting a POST request with image data via iPhone application

    I am creating an iOS application which allows users to send image/text data to my webserver via a POST request. I am successfully sending POSTS to the server when image data is not included in the request. Any time i POST with image data the server spits back a 403 forbidden. I have tried adding the following to the .htaccess file in the directory of the script with no luck: Options +Indexes FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI Order allow,deny Allow from all web browsers and Android devices can successfully POST with image data to the script, the only device which cannot is the iPhone. POSTING with data to other hosting providers works as expected - it is just this host(ipowerweb.com). i noticed that when i try to POST to ANY script on the server with data returns a 403 forbidden. another note: i can successfully post to another server that is hosted by ipowerweb, but mine cant seem to handle it. My host has tried to resolve the issue but cannot, and they have marked it on their end as "resolved", so no more help from them. I wish to keep this host as moving would be a pain - i will change hosts as a last resort, so please help me! Why am i getting this 403 forbidden error only when i submit data via my iPhone application?   • How to recover MySQL database from .mysql file?

    We had some problems with our MySQL server and somehow all I've got is a database.mysql file for the database I want to restore. I've done a bit of googleing but I didn't find anything about how should I handle this type of file. It's worth mentioning that the server was running Plesk and the database wasn't using InnoDB.   • tmux won't run as non root user?

    If I run tmux as root, it runs normally and fully functional. I created a couple users, and it will not run as any of the users. create session failed: : No such file or directory I checked the outside $TERM is xterm and inside $TERM is screen as FAQs suggest that is most common cause of problems. I've used tmux regularly on many different systems, but I on this VPS I can't figure out what's up... A little help, please? EDIT: strace output

  • WPA2 and the linux wireless tools

    I would like to know a distribution independent way to connect to WPA2 wireless networks. Do the wireless tools support wpa2? iwconfig and such? Or is it necessary to use wpa_supplicant? Having to edit a config file every time if changing between many networks is quickly frustrating. I am aware of tools like wicd, but would like to know if there is a standard way to do this on all distributions without requiring third party software.

  • Windows System shows wrong amount of RAM?

    I just got an ASUS 1005HA and immediately upgraded it to 2GB of RAM. However, when I open up the Windows System Dialog, it says their is only .99GB of RAM. CPU-Z sees the whole 2GB though. Anybody know what's going on here? EDIT: The BIOS also reports the correct amount of memory in the system.

Edit: The thinking is that I have one mac update itself using Software Update, and then somehow share the downloaded updates with other macs. For example, I have a mac pro and a mac mini on my local network. I'd like to download the Mac OS X 10.6.5 update only once, instead of having to download it separately for each mac.

  • I've set an editor as default, how do I call it to open files in a shell?

    EDIT I thought of a better way to phrase the question. How can I find the alias that Ubuntu is using for a different text editor? Rather than using nano by typing nano file.txt, i'd like to be able to type sublime file.txt to open sublime editor. I don't know where to look to find these aliases. sudo update-alternatives --config editor does not show it as a choice, I only see the 'default' editors, like Nano and vim.tiny.

    I want to setup some brand new servers with RHEL 6.4. Servers do not have DVD, so, I have to use USB for the installation. I already have a custom ISO with a kickstart file that I use on servers with DVD flawlessly. I used iso2usb to move the ISO t? my USB. When I boot from the USB, the ks file is found, anaconda starts, but then stops with the following error: "The installation source given by device ['sda1'] could not be found. Please check your parameters and try again" Notes: The USB IS the sda. My custom ISO file is renamed to linux.iso from iso2usb and it is present in the root directory of the USB.   • SQL commands when SQL only exists on network

    I'm trying to find a list of all sql servers on the network using the osql -L command in the command prompt. This command only works when SQLServer is installed on the computer that I'm working on. Is there any way to run this command when SQLServer is not installed on that particular computer, but is installed somewhere on the network? Thank you! EDIT: I'm writing a program in java, so the easy enumerations that you can do in the .NET framework won't work for me.

    This post from how-to-geek to disable Aero in Win7 and Vista no longer works in Windows 8. Is there another way to disable taskbar transparency in Windows 8 desktop? Edit: On Win8 Aero was removed but the taskbar is transparent (the desktop background picture is slightly visible 'behind' the taskbar). When I'm using the taskbar to switch programs I don't like seeing artifacts 'bleeding-through', I find it distracting.

  • Alternative to arrow keys in Google Chrome location bar

    I like Google Chrome because it is fast but I don't like using the arrow keys in the location bar to complete URLs. Is there any extension, or setting I'm missing, that allows me to use the Tab key (or other customizable key) for completion like in Firefox? I am an Emacs user and am aware of Conkeror. I just wanted to give Google Chrome a fair chance. Edit: I'm using version 4.0.266.0 on Linux.
