  Hi I'm using ElementTree to parse out an xml feed from Kuler. I'm only beginning in python but am stuck here.   I'm trying to deploy some web services in a WAR application on JBoss 5.1.0. I have created the source files from an existing wsdl using JAX-WS tool wsgen. This created the Service files and @XmlType annotated clases that would act as request and response wrappers.   I am trying to write a unit test for my one controller to verify if a view was returned properly, but this controller has a basecontroller that accesses the HttpContext.Current.Session. Everytime I create a new instance of my controller is calls the basecontroller constructor and the test fails with a null pointer exception on the HttpContext.Current.Session.   I have an ASP.NET MVC 2 application, which has an Application_Error event handler in global.asax. In this, I'm detecting the case where the Exception type is HttpException and the HTTP code is 404, and redirecting to my own 404-handling page. This works fine on my Cassini development server, but now I'm trying to move it over to my production server which has IIS7. When I request a non-existent URL, IIS7 is showing its own 404 page, and so far as I can tell, my Application_Error method is never called. How do I fix that?

• Datacontracts property getter running twice

  I have a set of data contracts that act as wrappers to base classes that we wish to expose. A quick example is: [DataMember] public List<decimal> Points { get { return sourceObject.ListPoints(); } private set{} } We have some other properties that we have to massage the data first (we are converting object graphs and need to guard against circular references). The issue that we are seeing is that this getter will fire twice, once within the service operation, then again during serialization. This is causing two problems: We manually add to collections, since this is running twice the collections are filled with dupes. If an exception is thrown during the second run, it happens outside of the try/catch in the operation, and does not throw a fault. The service throws a cryptic timeout message, and the only way to see the error is via WCF trace logs.

  Our project currently uses Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008. We need to upgrade to XI R2, but I'm having problems doing so. Here are the steps I followed: Install Crystal Reports XI R2. Collect updated assemblies from the GAC. I did this because I couldn't find version XI libraries in the "Add References..." dialog. I verified that these assemblies were of version 11.5.*. The libraries I gathered were: CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Framework CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore CrystalDecisions.ReportSource CrystalDecisions.Shared CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms Replace all references in my projects to version 10.5 Crystal libraries with references to the newer assemblies. Everything builds fine, but when I try to instantiate a ReportDocument, I get this error: The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception. Is there anything I'm missing? Will this just not work?

  I have a frustrating problem with the criteria builder. I have an application in which one user has one calendar, and a calendar has many entries. Seems straightforward enough, but when I try to get the calendar entries for a given user, I can't access the user property (MissingMethodException).   I'm trying to update a collection of records in my database using ActiveRecord's update_all. Enter script/console. MyModel.update_all("reserved = 1", :order => 'rand()', :limit => 1000) ActiveRecord thinks order is a column, says it's unknown and throws an exception. According to the documentation though, my syntax looks sane. This is RoR 2.3.5. When doing MyModel.update_all("reserved = 1") alone, it works just fine. Also if I do MyModel.update_all("reserved = 1", "reserve_type = 2", :order = "rand()", :limit = 1000) = 0 0 rows affected. I'm simply trying to do: UPDATE MyModel SET reserved=1, reserve_type=2 ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1000

  I've just installed this plugin, created the migrations, added everything I needed to make it work(I didn't install ImageMagick yet). The problem is when I get the upload control parameter to save it in my controller, I get something like this: #<File:C:\Users\Brian\AppData\Local\Temp\RackMultipart.2560.6677> instead of a simple string, like C:\Users\Brian\AppData\Local\Temp\RackMultipart.2560.6677 And if I try to read it I get the following exception: TypeError backtrace must be Array of String What am I doing wrong? Every request (event for static content) goes through the same .Net pipeline without exception. All custom HttpModule can handle any request. But sometimes you don't want these modules to execute for certain content (most often static content). In this regard, MS Cassini doesn't read/obey <system.webServer> web.config settings like IIS7 does. I'm particularly interested in these settings. <system.webServer> ... <handlers /> <modules /> </syste.webServer> Does UltiDev's Cassini (a separate payable product upgraded from MS Cassini) web server read these settings and execute as the web.config tells it to?

• JDBC Realm: GlassFish v2.1 = OK; GlassFish v3 = fail with invaliduserreason

  In my J2EE 5 application I have a JDBC Realm based security with Form method. Encrypt method is MD5 as default. The database is PostgreSQL 8.4 installed locally (or 8.3 available via lan). My app used to work finely on GlassFish v2.1 server with PostgreSQL 8.3, but now I need to deploy it on GlassFish v3. I am absolutely sure I have done all the same config on GFv3 like creating Connection Pool (which pings with no problem), JDBC Resource and JDBC Realm. But on GFv3 I get login exception with "invaliduserreason" while the database schema is just created from the working database script. I have checked the data and entered login/password thousand times and it seems that data is all right. So where can I find the reason of unworking security? Please, advice. NetBeans 6.8 Thanks.

  If my Perl code has a production code location and "beta" code location (e.g. production Perl code us in /usr/code/scripts, BETA Perl code is in /usr/code/beta/scripts; production Perl libraries are in /usr/code/lib/perl and BETA versions of those libraries are in /usr/code/beta/lib/perl, is there an easy way for me to achieve such a setup? The exact requirements are: The code must be THE SAME in production and BETA location. To clarify, to promote any code (library or script) from BETA to production, the ONLY thing which needs to happen is literally issuing cp command from BETA to prod location - both the file name AND file contents must remain identical. BETA versions of scripts must call other BETA scripts and BETA libraries (if exist) or production libraries (if BETA libraries do not exist) The code paths must be the same between BETA and production with the exception of base directory (/usr/code/ vs /usr/code/beta/) I will present how we solved the problem as an answer to this question, but I'd like to know if there's a better way.

Calling the same code as above produces the error: Exception in thread "main" org.jruby.embed.EvalFailedException: uninitialized constant myclass In addition, calling: Object example = jruby.eval("Example"); The module returns no error. So one would assume this follows the format for Ruby. Object example = jruby.eval("Example::myclass.new"); Again however, I get the same error as before. Can anyone help? As there is little documentation on JRuby? Thanks

• LINQ-To-SQL and Many-To-Many Relationship Deletions

  I have a many-to-many relationship between two tables, let's say Friends and Foods. If a friend likes a food I stick a row into the FriendsFoods table, like this: ID Friend Food 1 'Tom' 'Pizza' FriendsFoods has a Primary Key 'ID', and two non-null foreign keys 'Friend' and 'Food' to the 'Friends' and 'Foods' tables, respectively. Now suppose I have a Friend tom .NET object corresponding to 'Tom', and Tom no longer likes pizza (what is wrong with him?) FriendsFoods ff = tom.FriendsFoods.Where(x => x.Food.Name == 'Pizza').Single(); tom.FriendsFoods.Remove(ff); pizza.FriendsFoods.Remove(ff); If I try to SubmitChanges() on the DataContext, I get an exception because it attempts to insert a null into the Friend and Food columns in the FriendsFoods table. I'm sure I can put together some kind of convoluted logic to track changes to the FriendsFoods table, intercept SubmitChanges() calls, etc to try and get this to work the way I want, but is there a nice, clean way to remove a Many-To-Many relationship with LINQ-To-SQL?

• StructureMap: "No default instance of plugin defined" - even though it is

  I've been using StructureMap for about 6 months now; you would think it would start getting easier. It doesn't seem to. Here's the first line of my registry: For<IDbConnection>() .Singleton() .Use<SqlConnection>() .Ctor<string>(WebConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["UnifiedConnectionString"].ConnectionString); It compiles and runs. But when I try to use that Interface, like this: return MsSqlConfiguration.MsSql2008.ConnectionString(((DbConnection)ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IDbConnection>()).ConnectionString); I get StructureMap Exception Code: 202 No Default Instance defined for PluginFamily System.Data.IDbConnection, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 Now I may be missing something (okay, I obviously am), but I don't know how much more plain I can be about defining the default instance for IDbConnection. What am I doing wrong?
