  i want to normalize date fields from an old badly designed db dump. i now need to update every row, where the datefield only contains the year. update table set date = '01.01.' + date where date like '____' and isnumeric(date) = 1 and date >= 1950 but this will not work, because sql does not do short circuit evaluation of boolean expressions. thus i get an error "error converting nvarchar '01.07.1989' to int" is there a way to work around this? the column also contains strings with a length of 4, which are not numbers (????, 5/96, 70/8, etc.) the table only has 60000 rows

• Edit very large xml files in c#

  Hi I would like to create a text box which loads xml files and let users edit them. However, I cannot use XmlDocument to load since the files can be very large. I am looking for options to stream/load the xml document in chunks so that I do not get out of memory errors -- at the same time, performance is important too.   I find that even if I just declare an element like $this->addElement('textarea', 'txt1'); I find that it already has decorators set Zend_Debug::dump($this->getElement('txt1')->getDecorators()); http://pastebin.com/7Y24g62w I want to test that I didn't set decorators using setDecorators() or using something like $this->addElement('textarea', 'txt1', array( 'decorators' => array(...) )); If I didn't set any decorators then apply default decorators, how can I do that. I want to apply default decorators per element basis, not using Zend_Form#setDisableLoadDefaultDecoraotrs()

• Cocoa - does CGDataProviderCopyData() actually copy the bytes? Or just the pointer?

  I'm running that method in quick succession as fast as I can, and the faster the better, so obviously if CGDataProviderCopyData() is actually copying the data byte-for-byte, then I think there must be a faster way to directly access that data...it's just bytes in memory. Anyone know for sure if CGDataProviderCopyData() actually copies the data? Or does it just create a new pointer to the existing data?

• Value isnt being saved in the strings

  I'm trying to make a class where I put a key and value into the put method which puts the key in the k string array and value into the v string array, however it is not being saved in the array when I do get or display.   Compiling CUDA code with immediate (integer) operands, are they held in the instruction stream, or are they placed into memory? Specifically I'm thinking about 24 or 32 bit unsigned integer operands. I haven't been able to find information about this in any of the CUDA documentation I've examined so far. So references to any documents on specific uarch details like this would be perfect, as I don't currently have a good model for how CUDA works at this level.

  What is a good way to represent a collection of bits? I have a set of various on/off toggles (thousands of them) and need to store and retrieve their state. The naïve implementation would be an array of booleans, but I'm wondering if there's a better way (better in terms of access speed and/or memory requirements). I've found this BitArray implementation, but it's limited to 32 bits, which is not enough for this case.

  Hi, I have a raw YUYV422 buffer with 8-bit 4:2:2 Component Y’CbCr format (Y0, Cb, Y1, Cr order). I know that ffmpeg's PIX_FMT_YUYV422 only handle 16-bit buffers.So I am getting Bad memory error when scaling that buffer into YUV420P.   Hi, I would like know how this feature is implemented in VS - I understand it holds some sort of weak-reference to the object in the debugged-application's memory, but how exactly is it accomplished?   I've been playing around with the windows clipboard. I noticed that you can only view the clipboard if you supply a format. I've seen programs that can dump the raw contents of the clipboard. Look at http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Clipboard.htm#ClipboardAll for an example of what I mean. Is there a way to do something similar, what I want to do is be able to back up the clipboard, manipulate it, then restore it when my program is done. I'm looking for a non-.net solution if that's actually a thing

• Java Swing app hangs when run in normal mode but runs fine in debug mode

  I am writing a basic Java application with a Swing front-end. Basically it loads some data from a Derby database via Apache Cayenne and then displays it in a JTable. I'm doing my development in Eclipse and I don't think it's important but I'm using Maven for dependencies. Now this works fine when I run using Debug but it seems to hang the display thread when I use the Run button. I've done a thread dump and I'm not 100% certain but everything looks good. I used Java VisualVM and the threads look fine there as well. Strangely it seems to work intermittently. It's pretty consistent though and easy to reproduce. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all out of them.

  Hello I'm doing some data conversion from PostgreSQL to Microsoft SQL Server. So far it has all went well and I almost have the entire database dump script running. There is only one thing that is now messed up: dates. The dates are dumped to a string format. These are two example formats I've seen so far: '2008-01-14 12:00:00' and the more precise '2010-04-09 12:23:45.26525' I would like a regex (or set of regexs) that I could run so that will replace these with SQL Server compatible dates. Anyone know how I can do that?
