ResolveUrl Problem in Master Page

Okay, I know it is weird but when I put this code between <head runat="server"></head> in master.page, this is how it renders into: <link id="ctl00_Link1" rel="shortcut icon" href="../%3C%25%20ResolveUrl(%22~/Resources/Pictures/Shared/Misc/favicon.ico%22);%20%25%3E" type="image/x-icon" /> It doesn't see something asp.net needs to take care of. This is the original code : <link id="Link1" rel="shortcut icon" href='<%=ResolveUrl("~/Resources/Pictures/Shared/Misc/favicon.ico") %>' type="image/x-icon" runat="server" /> Basically Asp.Net doesn't take care of the code below and renders as a normal html. But i want to change the image url of an image contorl to uploaded image url. how can i perform that? C++: Retriving values of static const variables at a constructor of a static variable

I understand that the code below would result segmentation fault because at the cstr of A, B::SYMBOL was not initialized yet. But why? In reality, A is an object that serves as a map that maps the SYMBOLs of classes like B to their respective IDs. C holds this map(A) static-ly such that it can provide the mapping as a class function. The primary function of A is to serve as a map for C that initializes itself at startup. How should I be able to do that without segmentation fault, provided that I can still use B::ID and B::SYMBOL in the code (no #define pls)? Thanks! Rails - difference between config.cache_store and config.action_controller.cache_store?

Why do Asp.net timers/updatepanels leak memory and can it be fixed/worked around?

I have built a suite of internal websites for our company to manage some of our processes. I have been noticing that these pages have massive memory leaks that cause the pages to be using well over 150mb of memory, which is ridiculous for a webpage that consists of a single form and a GridView that is displaying 7-10 rows of data at a time, sometimes with the data not changing for a whole day. This data does need to be refreshed on a semi-regular basis so that we always see the latest results and can act on them. After some testing it appears that the memory leak is extremely easy to reproduce, and very noticeable. I created a page with the following asp.net markup: <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:scriptmanager ID="Scriptmanager1" runat="server"></asp:scriptmanager> <asp:Timer ID="timer1" runat="server" Interval="1000" /> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </div> </form> </body> There is absolutely no code behind for this. This is the entirety of the page. Running this site in Chrome shows the memory usage shoot up to 25 megs in the span of 20-30 seconds. Leaving it running for a few minutes makes the memory go up to the 70 megs and such. Am I using timers and update panels wrong, or is this a pure Asp.net issue with no work around?

I have several checkboxes on my View, when a checkbox is checked, its ID will be saved to an array and then I need to use that array in the controller. Hi Everyone, I'm very close and have this working in Safari, Firefox and IE8, however IE7 the labels and radio buttons do not align vertically. If I take font-size out of #master-container it lines up but then it is not the proper font-size. I tried to add a font-size to ul.inputlist li input but that didn't help. Any suggestions? Internationalized strings in Eclipse plugin.xml file are not found when installed in Eclipse applica

Hi, I have created 2 plugins, implementing an ODA driver plugin and its UI plugin for the BIRT extension to Eclipse. My plugins both work as expected when eclipse starts up another eclipse application where I can then test the plugins I am developing. However, when I install my plugins into an Eclipse application and then start it from a Windows shortcut, the plugins work but and language keys specified in the plugin.xml files are not found. For example, in my plugin.xml file for the ODA Driver plugin I set the attributes 'id' to '%oda.data.source.id' and the data source 'defaultDisplayName' to '%data.source.name'. I then, in a file 'language.properties', have defined the values for both of these keys (where the keys don't have the preceeding % character). When running the plugins that have been installed into the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application, the wizard for creating my ODA data source names is as '%data.source.name' and saves the data source in the rptdesign (XML) file with an ID of '%oda.data.source.id'. Since 'language' is not the default name for the properties file I went into the manifest for both plugins and changed the 'Bundle-Localization' attribute to 'language'. The language file is located in the root directory of both of my plugins. The properties file is definitely found, since I use the two language files to store other strings used by the plugins, looked up using a java ResourceBundle. The strings are always found whether the plugins are run from Eclipse application loading another, or when properly installed in the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application. Why are the installed plugins not finding language keys reference in the plugin.xml files? There are not errors in the logs and the language.properties files are clearly accessible... Android ListView appears empty, but contains objects

I'm having a really odd problem with my android listview. The listview is inside of a fragment, everything's compiling and I'm no longer getting a nullpointer error, but the listview is appearing empty. Even though it's appearing empty, the log is stating that the listview has 385 objects. I can't figure out why it's empty. I do get a blue fragment, and the listview is populated. Any ideas? WiX: Installing Service as LocalService

Hey there, I am trying to get my application an installer via WiX 3.0. The exact code is: <File Id="ServiceComponentMain" Name="$(var.myProgramService.TargetFileName)" Source="$(var.myProgramService.TargetPath)" DiskId="1" Vital="yes"/>  <ServiceInstall Id="MyProgramServiceInstaller" Type="ownProcess" Vital="yes" Name="MyProgramAddon" DisplayName="[removed]" Description="[removed]" Start="auto" Account="LocalService" ErrorControl="ignore" Interactive="no"/> <ServiceControl Id="StartDDService" Name="MyProgramServiceInstaller" Start="install" Wait="no" /> <ServiceControl Id="StopDDService" Name="MyProgramServiceInstaller" Stop="both" Wait="yes" Remove="uninstall" /> Thing is, for some reason LocalService fails on the "Installing services" step, and if I change it to "LocalSystem" then the installer times out while trying to start the service. The service starts fine manually and at system startup, and for all intents and purposes works great. I've heard there are issues getting services to work right under LocalService, but Google isnt really helping as everyone's responses have been "got it to work kthx". Just looking to get this service set up and started during installation, that's all. Any help? Thanks!

Gridview empty when SelectedIndexChanged called

I have a DataGrid which is being bound dynamically to a database query. The user enters some search text into a text field, clicks search, and the code behind creates the appropriate database query using LINQ (searches a table based on the string and returns a limited set of the columns). It then sets the GridView datasource to be the query and calls DataBind(). protected void btnSearch_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { var query = from record in DB.Table where record.Name.Contains(txtSearch.Text) //Extra string checking etc. removed. select new { record.ID, record.Name, record.Date }; gvResults.DataSource = query; gvResults.DataBind(); } This works fine. When a user selects a row in the grid, the SelectedIndexChanged event handler gets the id from the row in the grid (one of the fields), queries the full record from the DB and then populates a set of editor / details fields with the records full details. protected void gvResults_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { int id = int.Parse(gvResults.SelectedRow.Cells[1].Text); DisplayDetails(id); } This works fine on my local machine where I'm developing the code. On the production server however, the function is called successfully, but the row and column count on gvResults, the GridVeiw is 0 - the table is empty. The GridView's viewstate is enabled and I can't see obvious differences. Have I made some naive assumptions, or am I relying on something that is likely to be configured differently in debug? Locally I am running an empty asp.net web project in VS2008 to make development quicker. The production server is running the sitecore CMS so is configured rather differently. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks in advance!

I am experiencing some confusion with jquery.validate.js First of all, what is MicrosoftMvcJqueryValidation.js. It is referenced in snippets on the web but appears to have dissapeared from the RTM MVC2 and is now in futures. Do I need it? The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to use the validator with MVC and I can't get it to work. If I create a submitHandler() it gets called, but the plugin doesn't detect any validation errors (.valid() == true) What am I missing?

Android crashes when calling ImageButton

I have a crash (Application Stopped Unexpectedly) problem with this main.xml is a "HelloWorld" type project (while testing and learning features I need for my app) : I isolated the ImageButton as an issue, but I can't isolate any of the parameters... <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <ImageButton android:id="@+id/picture" android:layout_width="240dip" android:layout_height="180dip" android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal" android:src="@drawable/icon" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:cropToPadding="true" android:clickable="true" android:scaleType="fitCenter" /> </LinearLayout> icon.png exists in my resources... I can see the preview in the Layout tab, even though the image is not centered on the button, but I read that it was normal. The code below works fine (as a regular Button). I can also do the same as an ImageView. <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <Button android:id="@+id/picture" android:layout_width="240dip" android:layout_height="180dip" android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal" /> </LinearLayout> I use Eclipse and the AVD, and all my learning is done on 2.1 (SDK level 7). jquery slide toggle divs without creating multiple classes, functions, etc... ui accordion

Greetings, based on the jquery ui accordion I'm using, I have added a slide toggle to my accordion list items. so what happens is I click on an li and a div slides down underneath to reveal more content. The issue I'm having is that I find myself having to create multiple id's to reference the slidetoggle. example of the div id css: #panel, #panel2, #panel3, #panel4, etc.... the Is there a way I can use the slide toggle without having to adding another number so it will slide? Dynamically add event to custom control (Confirm Message Box)

I have created a custom cofirm message box control and I created an event like this- [Category("Action")] [Description("Raised when the user clicks the button(ok)")] public event EventHandler Submit; protected virtual void OnSubmit(EventArgs e) { if (Submit != null) Submit(this, e); } The Event OnSubmit occurs when user click the OK button on the Confrim Box. void IPostBackEventHandler.RaisePostBackEvent(string eventArgument) { OnSubmit(e); } Now I am adding this OnSubmit Event Dynamically like this- In aspx- <my:ConfirmMessageBox ID="cfmTest" runat="server" ></my:ConfirmMessageBox> <asp:Button ID="btnCallMsg" runat="server" onclick="btnCallMsg_Click" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtResult" runat="server" ></asp:TextBox> In cs- protected void btnCallMsg_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { cfmTest.Submit += cfmTest_Submit;//Dynamically Add Event cfmTest.ShowConfirm("Are you sure to Save Data?"); //Show Confirm Message using Custom Control Message Box } protected void cfmTest_Submit(object sender, EventArgs e) { txtResult.Text = "User Confirmed";//I set the text to "User Confrimed" but it's not displayed txtResult.Focus();//I focus the textbox but I got Error } The Error I got is- System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled by user code Message="SetFocus can only be called before and during PreRender." Source="System.Web" So, when I dynamically add and fire custom control's event, there is an error in Web Control. If I add event in aspx file like this, <my:ConfirmMessageBox ID="cfmTest" runat="server" OnSubmit="cfmTest_Submit"></my:ConfirmMessageBox> There is no error and work fine. Can anybody help me to add event dynamically to custom control? Thanks.

events not firing in VisualForce

In the page below,Topic__c is a single-select picklist. My intention is to have this list control which of the input fields is available below.
