• What is the best way to slide a panel in WPF?

  I have a fairly simple UserControl that I have made (pardon my Xaml I am just learning WPF) and I want to slide the off the screen. To do so I am animating a translate transform (I also tried making the Panel the child of a canvas and animating the X position with the same results), but the panel moves very jerkily, even on a fairly fast new computer. What is the best way to slide in and out (preferably with KeySplines so that it moves with inertia) without getting the jerkyness. I only have 8 buttons on the panel, so I didn't think it would be too much of a problem. • Creating a consumer of a Web Service WSDL/SOAP

  I am attempting to write a Windows Desktop App (using WCF) that is a consumer of a web service. The application: Sends a SOAP message to a British Government Server to get an authentication token based on the arugments passed Retrieves a response from that server in the form of a string which contains the authentication token. I have a template of the SOAP message from the British Government, and a WSDL file for the service. What I have tried Add a service reference using the WSDL file. I received the following error: URI formats are not supported. Add a Web Reference using the URL of the service. I received the following error: The request failed with HTTP status 405: Method Not Allowed. Send the SOAP request using a POST. The Call to GetResponse() threw a 500 External Server Error.   Hi iam using a listbox to show a list of items. in the listbox i ahve an togglebutton on every item. When i click on the toggle button the state of the togglebutton is pressed. But when i am scrolling down in the listbox and scolls up again. The togglebutton state is not pressed. How can i prevent this please help.   I have a simple XAML page that load fine when it is loaded as part of any application within Visual Studio. • my jQuery codes suspected to fail on IE 7

  I have received numerous calls from users lately, stating that they are not able to access the conference sites with IE7. These sites are created from a template, and they are managed on Joomla. Previously on other sites, there have no problems or complaints. However, with the recent complaints , I suspect that the culprit is my simple jQuery codes since the sites that have been reported have been created recently and incorporated with jQuery features. • Images missing after moving Django to new server

  I'm moving Django project to new server. I'm newbie in Django, and I don't know where should be upload folder. There are all images which should be displayed on website. In config file I haven't seen upload folder I could specify, so I'm guessing it always should be the same location for django projects or I just can't find it. Locations are saved in database. When I've put uploaded files into media folder, so url was like domain.co.uk/media/upload/media/images/year/month/day/image_name.ext and the same is on the old website, images on website ware still missing. All images are visible if I put url by hand, but django doesn't seems to see files.   Hi i read this inspired, i am asking for specific help to achieve a 12 for my current project. i am working in a team of 3-4 on a php project that is based on cakephp. i only have a dedicated server running on linux which i intend to have the website live on. and i have a plan with assembla where i am using its svn repository. that's it. i like to hear a major, impactful step towards answering each point raised by the joel test. by impactful i mean doing just this one thing would raise my project to scoring or close to scoring on that area of the joel test. lets begin: 1) do you have a source control system? I am very proud to say learning how to use svn even though we know nuts about branch/release policies made the biggest impact to our programming lives. and the svn repos is on assembla paid plan. Feel free to add if anyone thinks we can do more in this area. 2) Can you make a build in one step? i think the issue is how do i define as a build? i think we are going to define it as if tomorrow my dedicated server crashed and we found another server from another normal hosting provider and all my team's machines all destroyed, how are we going to get the website up again? my code is in svn on assembla. 1 step means as close to 1 button to push as possible. 3)Do you make daily builds? i know nothing about this. please help. i googled and came across this phpundercontrol. but i am not sure if we can get that to work with assembla. are there easier ways? 4)Do you have a bug database? we have not used the assembla features on bug tracking. ashamed to say. i think i will sort this out myself. 5)Do you fix bugs before writing new code? policy issue. i will sort it out myself. 6)Do you have an up-to-date schedule? Working on it. Since we have a team of 3, i think i should go get 1 tester. even on a part time basis. so i should get this 1 part time tester test in what manner to extract maximum effects? should i get him to write out the test scenarios and expected outcomes and then test it? or i write the test scenarios and then ask him to do it? we will be writing the test cases ourselves using simpletest. i came across selenium. how useful is that? 11)Do new candidates write code during their interview? Not applicable. But i will do it next time i try to hire anyone else. hires or contractors alike. 12)Do you do hallway usability testing? • Content display problems when using Suckerfish menus with 960.gs and IE

  I'm using 960.gs layout and when I add the suckerfish menu as part of the content to one of the grids, the contents of adjacent siblings bleed through the menu in all versions of IE. In the listed html below, the text from 'belowFoldSection' will appear through the menu when it is visible and has enough items to make it span over 2nd section. However, the contents of 'introSummary' will be underneath the menu, as expected. I've set the z-index for #nav and #nav ul in my css and this of course makes it work in FF, Chrome and Safari, but not in IE (because IE incorrectly assigns child elements its own z-index). If I change the .grid_nn class 'position' attribute (set by default in the 960 template) from 'relative' to absolute, this fixes it in IE. However, it is my understanding that I don't want the child elements of the 'container_12' to be taken out of the flow of the document and want them positioned relative to the .container_12's starting point. (Changing the attribute to absolute causes other general layout problems) Can anyone suggest a work-around?   I am writing a custom control that is a ListView that has a CheckBox on each item in the ListView to indicate that item is Selected. So if my items have an ID property, I can specify using the SelectedValuesPath property "ID". The SelectedValues property would then return a collection of ID values. I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to implement my SelectedValues DependencyProperty so that I could Bind a Collection of values to it, and when the control is loaded, the CheckBoxes are checked with items that have values that correspond to the SelectedValues. I've considered using the PropertyChangedCallBack event, but can't quite figure out how I could write that to achieve my goal. I'm also unsure of how I find the correct ListViewItem to set it as Selected. And lastly, if I can find the ListViewItem and set it to be Selected, won't that fire my SelectionChanged event each time I set a ListViewItem to be Selected?

• The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request - uploading less 2MB file size?

  The file succeed to upload when it is 2KB or lower in size. The main reason why I use streaming is to be able to upload file up to at least 1 GB. But when I try to upload file with less 1MB size, I get bad request. It is my first time to deal with downloading and uploading process, so I can't easily find the cause of error.
